Seems like a brand driven entirely by upper middle class suburbanites. I've never taken an uber trip in a subaru for instance.

You see the same shit with Honda people. Subaru gives out a mean cup of koolaid.

So? I don't get your British style fixation. I don't see subaru as remotely upper middle class. Take the entire WRX community is usually 20 years old overextending their means to get a now slow car. I'm an old fag and no where do I associate Subaru with upper middle class. Especially if you consider how much $$$ is needed to participate in rally given its roots. You can shift focus to Audi fags.

I've owned my subaru for 10 years and have never had a single problem with it. Only work required is regular maintenance... fluids, brake pads, tires, etc. It's been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

to be fair this might make the outback the last true white man's car, despite the sapphic reputation.
Reliable, cheap, comfortable enough. AWD for dealing with the snow and taking your kids and dog out to the hills for a good walk. Not outwardly prestigous by badge the urban enrichment will walk right on by.
How many Indians do you see driving a Subaru?

There's a reason for that. They're fucking gay. gays have no children (unless they adopt), it's not unusual to see afluent gay couples when they have professional jobs and no children to drag them back down into debt and poverty.

Subaru's don't last and need a lot of maintenance . I used to think they just cut some minor corners, but then I got one cheap, with low miles, as a gift when I was going through some bad times - they're garbage, literally from the heater controls to the wheel bearings.

I had an STi for 6 years and a 150k-mile manual Impretzle with one of the two "lol headgasket" engines for 5 yrs. I was running the STi at 19psi for over 60k miles. I redlined both almost every time I drove them. Never had a single failure other than the trunk release lever stopped working on the hawkeye. The base impreza had a blown front diff when I bought it, but the PO was a ricer and probably ran differently sized tires in the front.
Change your oil at 3k, datalog, don't do clutch dumps, change the banjo bolt filter on turbos. I've had 5 other cars and never had anything as reliable as the EJ Subarus.
I know it's just one guy's experience, but it has been mine. I drive a miata now because AWD isn't nearly as fun but I like [the fun] Subarus.
