Can I tow people out of the snow without kinetic ropes?

I have a 4.0L 4x4 Tacoma with a locking rear diff, 6500 pound towing capacity. Idiots in Malibus are getting stuck in snow banks almost every day on my street.
Can I use regular tow straps looped around the control arm to pull them out, or do I have to spend the money on kinetic ropes? I will never do anything with sand or off roading. I just want to make sure I don't rip someones control arm off or mess up my truck.

I don't know how much traction I would get if the road is snowy as well, but I would imagine that tow straps would usually work when I'm in 4Low.

Are you doing this out of kindness or trying to make money? You're going to rip chunks off of people's cars in any case, and probably lose your windows or head to those pieces. There's a reason tow trucks and wreckers, which are heavier than a Tacoma, use winches. Also
>locking rear diff
is not good for traction on ice. If you're serious about it you'll leave it unlocked when on the road and get chains for your tires.

Don’t use a control arm - you could wreck the towed car. If you’re going can’t use a towing eye provided by the OEM then try to get your tow tied to the frame. You definitely don’t need a giant elastic band - you need a rope or strap long enough to give some distance then just pull the car gently out

You better lawyer up and get a waiver made up before you do this. Seems like a good way to get your ass sued off. Using a regular strap to do this while not as retarded as using a chain is still a bad idea. You're just going to transfer a fuck load of stress into your vehicle and the vehicle you're pulling.

kindness. I usually help push or dig them out, and I already have a truck so why not.

I mean they're shitbox sedans generally with snow up to the underside of the car. I helped somebody attach a Yankum rope to a control arm yesterday and he gently pulled the car out of the snow. Better than ripping a bumper off right? These vehicles don't have hitches or towing hardware

You'll do them more of a favor by carrying a sturdy snow shovel, and possibly a small ice pick/mattock, to help dig them out and make recovery easier when the real tow truck shows up.

yesterday when I showed up someone had a Chrysler 300 with a towel between the bumpers and was trying to push him out. Surely I can do better than that right?

Strap them around the wheels next time, they're the strongest points on a vehicle if you can't access the tow hooks

Wrap a strap or rope around one of the drive tires and they can pull themselves out.

Why would you use HIGH TORQUE gearbox mode if you're in a LOW TRACTION scenario.

Because high torque doesn't help, but having the higher transfer case ratio might help me not rip the bumper off
