Do I buy this MX5?
https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202601319568495?
Seem to be great value, and even if it needs work doing, at that price I can afford to get the wrench out

It shouldn’t be *that* cheap even though the used UK market tends to be a lot cheaper than the rest of the world. They’re 3-6k cars all day long at that age, so I’d be asking why that one (in what appears good nick in a nice colour) is priced that way. 67k, too. Thats suspiciously low. Check the MOT history and what its failed on before. Apart from that if the body is straight and it doesn’t smoke you’ve got a car for no money with 7 months MOT on it. If it does go properly bang then either fix it or part it out
tldr for that money you can’t really go wrong but it may have been crashed or clocked but if you can live with that go for it

I’d be really surprised if it had any of that done desu. It explains the price discrepancy. They’ll have had it tested at some fly by night garage and passed, now they’re shifting it on. To fix all that with it is basically what you’d pay for one in good condition
Take someone with you who can see if any of that’s been rectified, particularly the seatbelt anchor. It’s apparently done less than a thousand miles since that fail so it’s probably been punted around whatever dealership they’ve been running across the country and they want rid of it
