I was hiking to picrel but the bridge was washed out and we didnt want to do a chest deep water crossing so we walked around a lake, which turned out to be a marshy fucking mess but whatever. Cross a fallen log further upstream and 2 minutes later there was a big, raggedy looking bear just walking through the forest maybe 20 feet in front of me. He did not care about my presence, didnt even look at me. Honestly I felt invalidated. Did I smell? Did I not look meaty enough? Fucking prude.

Bears have never seen me as a threat to them, though some have been shy and run away when they noticed me. I nearly always hear them before I see them. It's ironic how cityfags are so fearful of bears when their urban environment is full of vicious nasty humans who are much more of a threat than any bear.
