I've only pooped in the woods maybe 2 times. I carry a couple of small packs of facial tissues and just use those for TP if needed. They're horrible for indoor plumbing and take a little longer to compost than regular TP but they're multipurpose and more environmentally friendly than things like wet wipes. Practicality and pack size makes the difference.

When I through hiked the AT I started weighing everything I had. it gets retarded, the lighter your pack the more enjoyment you get from the trails. Toilet paper was heavier than I expected comparatively and cat holeing was super stupid. In Franklin North Carolina I found a squeeze water bottle and had the idea, I'm already carrying water to drink why not put some in a tiny squeeze bottle and just spray my ass. Worked great for the rest of the summer.

How fucking retarded are you?
A 20 oz bottle of water weighs 3x the amount of an entire fucking roll of toilet paper.
>I'm already carrying water to drink

Coin wipes.
Compressed paper towel-like napkins. Soak in water and use. Tiny and packable, affordable and super handy. Mine were especially valued while trekking Annapurna
