In my neighbourhood alone there's:
>My brother with a R33 GT-R rotting away because he can't be fucked keeping it rego'd
>Neighbor has a WRX 22B that has sat parked under a cover and not moved for 4+ years
>Guy 10 houses down with the Ralli Art Evo IV decked out in the racing livery that gets taken out twice a year to shows
>A 99' TOM'S Chaser around the corner with paint peeling from sitting in the sun all the time neglected
I don't like seeing such nice cars going to waste, but it's up to the owners.

framing too tight and that specific model looks like shit without the track pack (lowers it, gives it different 10 spoke wheels and splitter)
i actually think s197 mustangs (11-14) look awesome if its in track pack guise, the generation after looks too rounded off and follows ford's post-2015 design language (soap bar with last gen mondeo styling cues). probably some of the best looking modern mustangs other than foxbodys and high-spec s550s (mach 1/gt350/pp2)
if you want plastic/toy i think a better example are 5th gen (09-14) camaros, challengers, and first gen lx chargers (05-10)

as an NA owner, the NC's get a bad wrap for being larger than the rest of the lineup, but they are actually really great cars. tons of aftermarket support, parts are always available and cheap to repair. I want one, but not sure I need two cars that can't carry more than a few bags of groceries

Also a NA owner. I have considered pushing it into a ravine and getting a NC because NCs just work. The weight is overblown, they're not much heavier than a NB and are way more tight. Perception on them seems to be changing though and I think they may be at the bottom of their price curve right now.

NC1s are cheap and you can find them all day long for $5-8000 with the nicest ones being $6-8000.
NC2s are the pick of the litter but they're still $10k starting for a decent one. They also don't always come with a LSD...unless you pick a fully loaded car with leather + 6spd + keyless entry and even then it was a seperate option so its hard to shop online and find them (usually bilsteins = LSD). Kinda frustrating because it seems like 20-30% of the cars on the market are LSD.
I personally ended up with a 2016 STi and I'm slightly regretting it, its not a bad car just kinda turns into a money pit when you ask it to do more than sporty street driving. Probably gonna sell for a ND2 in the summer or importing a GC STi in yellow (what I should've done if I wanted to stay the turbo 4wd route)

Yeah that's fine I already have a beater but a cashmere yellow GC STi or a white/blue Type RA is a bucket list/dream car of mine so at least it has the passion/dream car thing working towards it. 2016 isn't a bad car just not as exciting...2700lb/220whp vs 3400lbs/250whp. It would be great if it was your only car.
I bought it because it was a good deal ($16k, 99% stock, clean title 1 owner, 75k miles with a used shortblock installed, minimal rust, no issues other than a leaky steering rack) but kinda feel like I compromised when I didn't have to and I wouldn't be excited to put a $5000 motor into it if it blew up.

I see what you were wanting to do with a rule of thirds composition, but I don't think it works here. The car is visually moving left in the frame, but it has no space to move into. I'd have placed the car either relatively central, or towards the bottom right so that there is room for the car to move into visually, and to also get more context of the track and other car behind it.

>go looking for advice on car photography
The best advice is the most basic:
Use a CPL to get rid of reflections. Practice positioning yourself relative to the light source to use this most effectively.
Use a telephoto to flatten the car's appearance (good for very curvy vehicles or when going for a natural look)
Use a UWA lens to exaggerate proportions (good for flat looking cars), like close ups of rims or attractive features like badges or decals
Don't shoot from eye-level, this is boring as fuck. Go down low or get up high.
Road-level photos are a nice starting point. Lifting a monopod to get real high above the car is also a great angle if a bit tricky.
Background matters. If the backgound is too cluttered it's going to look like shit. Avoid having other cars in the shot unless they add to the scene.
Moving cars should look like they're moving; panning shots are infinitely more impressive than shooting with a high shutter speed to freeze motion.
If the road is part of the scene, then have the vehicle moving towards the road direction in the frame, not at the edge of the frame looking out.
That's all I can think of for now but it's a good start.
>>

>Use a CPL to get rid of reflections. Practice positioning yourself relative to the light source to use this most effectively.
Done. CPL has been pretty based.
>Use a telephoto to flatten the car's appearance (good for very curvy vehicles or when going for a natural look)
Done too, 35mm minimum as I recall.
>Use a UWA lens to exaggerate proportions (good for flat looking cars), like close ups of rims or attractive features like badges or decals
Haven't tried but maybe.
>Don't shoot from eye-level, this is boring as fuck. Go down low or get up high.
Yeah I've been doing that form the start. I like to be level with the headlights personally.
>Road-level photos are a nice starting point. Lifting a monopod to get real high above the car is also a great angle if a bit tricky.
I've tried a few weird tricks to get a really high up angle, some can be cool.
>Background matters. If the backgound is too cluttered it's going to look like shit. Avoid having other cars in the shot unless they add to the scene.
Same principle with most things. At worst I'll photoshop some shit out but that's rare.
>Moving cars should look like they're moving; panning shots are infinitely more impressive than shooting with a high shutter speed to freeze motion.
Good one. Bummer I can't do that with my own car, no car person I know has any photography knowledge.
>If the road is part of the scene, then have the vehicle moving towards the road direction in the frame, not at the edge of the frame looking out.
Pretty good too.

>Any about editing though? Color grading and such?
Im not the anon for this as I generally just edit to get clean images with appropriate saturation. I don't do anything special.
I edit the same way I edit most photos, but I'm a bit of a sucker for going "vintage" with older looking cars including going B&W and using washout CLUTs. Older cars can look a bit artificial if you shoot them with high saturation and true to life colours; I've noticed we tend to remember them belonging to the time of film and it should look accordingly. That is a personal position however, and ymmv.\

Well you see anon, you likely need to *own* the car to do that. (Or have a mate with a nice car, or be at a show that lets you into the cars)
Also, interior shots normally need pretty wide lenses which not everyone has access to.
As opposed to the highly ubiquitous "hey look at that car over there".
