toilet paper tubes were one of the stock items of the old BBC kids entertainment show Blue Peter.
They'd do a how-to build something pretty often, and it'd be made of stuff you had at home like cereal boxes, egg cartons, plastic bottles, etc.
>they had to say "sticky tape" not sellotape because the BBC used to take their impartiality and no advertising rule very strictly and saying "use sellotape to stick these together" might be construed as advertising.
One year when I was young, they did a how to build the island from Thunderbirds because that thing was the hot christmas toy of the year and it was out of stock everywhere.
