Dude, everything has been getting smaller. Back around 30 years ago people were huge like 2-3x the size they are now.
And that's not all, I used to have this hot wheels car that was huge too. It would barely fit in my hand. Nowadays I could probably hold half a dozen hotwheels cars in my hand.
This isn't natural. E V E R Y T H I N G is shrinking...

you people are retards
the tr;dr is that the new stuff is prepped for use before you and the '1914' piece wasn't prepped at all and probably came from a building that collapse when the lkumber twisted as it dried

2x4 was formerly the pre-finished dimensions.
It was poorly standardized what the final actual size was until relatively recently with better cutting/finishing practices and now we've settled on 1.5x3.5.
>>
>>527726206
This could explain it. I thought the shrinking had stopped about 15 years ago but lately even my pants from just a couple years ago don't fit. Not much else has shrunk since then though but bags of chips and so called footlong subs.

Same thing happened to me: we grew up. I miss being a kid sometimes though. I remember my N64 seemed massive, like a pizza box is to an adult, but I found one recently at a garage sale and they're tiny. My 15" CRT seemed so big back then but I couldn't imagine still watching something on a screen that small.

Fucking retard alert.
It was a state of the art reactor and the reason it failed wasn't because of an unknown flaw. It was operated poorly due to kikes in the soviet union's government putting pressure on the scientists and engineers to misuse the reactor.

Can you guys explain to me why you're allergic to bricks?
My house is from 1923. It got a second floor in 1974. Total Area about 220m^2 or 2,368 square feet
>No termites
>No cockroaches
>No Mold
>Survived 2 x 5.7 Magnitude Earthquakes and a few smaller ones
>Survived 1 flood
>Survived WW2, Survived Yugoslav wars.
>1992 Artillery Shell landed in the backyard broke all the windows made a small hole on a wall.
>1999 US Airplanes broke windows by going supersonic
Owned by my grandmother, passed to my mother, passed to me.
So far I only had to change the roof expected lifespan 25-30 years.
Changed the Windows to Triple pane PVC
Added some insulation in the form of styrofoam.
Replaced the old style gas furnace with a new fancy condensing gas boiler
Replace the old style blocky ACs with modern inverter units.
Thinking about buying Solar pannels because they're so cheap these days and they'll last as long as my roof.
Maybe also get a heatpump system, but I don't think it will work since I'd have to buy new wood flooring to get low temperature floor heating for it.
I honest to god don't get American housing. You build for "cheap" that costs x10 what it costs in Europe, to have it rot in 25 years and

What, new wood not good enough for you? Would you rather have no wood? It's basic math retard, if you want 200 year old wood, you get 1/20th the amount you would get 10 year old wood. Younger wood is less durable, but it isn't nearly proportional.

How did they get away with inventing stronger timber pressure treatments?
Just wait because the new contender Inventwood, supposedly has a strength-to-weight ratio ten times that of steel, so they will get even smaller.

There is a plan to have US jets soon go supersonic 8 times per day, every day, flying very low, over your house.
Because you are white. Fuck you.
What do you think about that.
Soon to be implemented against your country.
En route to iran.
And they WILL fly LOW and SUPERSONIC over YOUR house.
8 times PER DAY.
Possibly more when they hypersonic cruise missiles are used.
How does that make you feel, white person?

They were getting paid per unit for a time and some lumber Jews quickly figured out they can squeeze a couple shekels more out of each truckload by planing the edges like coinage and the practice stuck

what is the reason why houses in balkan always look unfinished? From what I've gathered there is some kind of tax benefit, like during soviet times you made the facade of your house look like shyt so the kommissar didn't know you were amassing any kind of wealth

they struggle to make good violins from modern wood. the best violins are being made from wood found at the bottom of lakes, so it is better to have been stored in cold water for 100 years than to be freshly grown tree if you are in the violin business.
the issue is that commercial forests are grown too dense so the nutrients are spread over too many trees resulting in malnourished timber. essentially the same as Western goyslop diet. i live nest to forests and in the commercial forest the trees are around 2metres apart, planted in rows while the natural grown forest is less than half as dense and scattered.

>wasn't because of an unknown flaw
It was badly operated but the literal thing which made it explode was the cobalt tips on the control rods lowered when they hit the AZ-5 emergency button. It was a design flaw which had been politically censored from technical specifications and was unknown to operators which the government then tried to cover up in the enquiry. The main guy investigating ruined his career exposing it. What the fuck are you talking about?

Western housing codes are honestly a complete joke, as a whole. Even when you follow them to a 'T', it doesn't really matter at the end of the day because houses made by 2x4 frames, insulation and drywall are shit in the long run. They aren't built to last at all.I guess Jews pushed the Western world in this direction so they can blow your house down at their convince. Also, it really decreases your over all insurance claims in the long run.
>>
>>527733449
Depends.
There 3 reasons.
One you build a house progressively as you get money, the outer facade is the last thing to get built. If you hit hard times, it just stays that way and priorities shift.
Two is making it an unfinished house for law reasons.
Three you're a nigger gypsie and you like it that way.
It's not a big thing here anymore at least. But you will find plenty of number 3s.

Jewish dentists in Canada love to give men circumcisions while they are under anesthesia. You might want to look into that. I am not joking, by the way. It is a real thing that happens, and I am glad to use 4chan as my platform to inform people of this. This is also just another reason for Alberta to defect from Canada.

always wondered why americans have those cringe floor to ceiling preformed bath and shower units
turns out they tile straight onto drywall necessitating a total refurb of walls, insulation and in bad cases framing.

Plenty of houses are, but they tend to be confined to old downtowns and row houses in cities like Chicago and Philadelphia
>>
>>527735324
I just don't get why it's made that way because you all live in a very stable, very secure environment.
Nobody is going to bomb your house, it's not gonna collapse during an earthquake, no fire will come, some regions do get floods and tornados but most(90%) don't. So why are you building like the house is going to be gone is 25 years. And you need to cheaply rebuild it. You're almost building Japanese style homes. But Japan gets fucked by one Earthquake a year, historically had whole cities burn down and has 100% humidity, floods, mudslides and just about every other natural disaster you can imagine.
Like I understand Japanese housing. 99% of Japanese houses are wooden jokes I woudn't want to retire in. This is shit for young people and once you're 60 it's going to be catastrophically bad. As are most houses that old Japanese people own. You're sabotaging your old age. Your house is going to have massive problems, massive issues, need constant repairs and refurbishments and you won't have any money.

I am a gigantic weeb but Japanese housing is an absolute joke, it should be built out of Concrete and mold resistant materials with plenty of vents. And most apartment buildings are. So it's not like Japanese people are retarded and can't build concrete. But for some fucking reason all the family homes are wood.

this will cause mold. Buildings from 1920s have to breathe unless you guys had a different standard to us. Should have used something like chalk.
>>
>>527729688
americans will never own a home, we are a nation of eternal renters because we are owned by jewish investors
jewish investors have run the numbers and found that it is more profitable to knock down a house once it gets to a certain age and build a new one
you can get more rent from renting a brand new home, or selling it to another jewish investor

Buildings from the 1920s breathe naturally. IT is the opposite issue with modern homes. They are so 'airtight' that you need additional circulation designed in. There will be zero issues with the windows and insulation in the1920s house except cheaper bills.

>what is the reason why houses in balkan always look unfinished?
People were poor and couldn't afford to do the finishing. Not plastering the house is simply cost-cutting measure. The only houses who would get plastered, where made of mudbricks, so those would need protection from the rain.
>>
>>527725492
Because consumers don't check for this stuff (and pay more for better wood)
Also it's probably hard to produce enough strong dense wood to satiate modern demand, since you get it from old trees rather than fast-growing pine.
>>
>>
My house is built in 1970 from Australian hardwood, termites literally can't eat my houses wood it's so astronomically hard, it's literally better than brick and steel. I've destroyed 5 drill bits trying to drill into one of the wooden studs, but steel and brick it's easy peasy.
Wood when it's the right kind of wood is far more impervious to the sands of time than brick etc is it just needs to be protected well though. Brick crumbles and erodes, hardwood is in a constant state of life, it's not actually dead, just transfered into a nother state of existance. If wood still has red colour when you cut into it, it's still living.

OP is a retard, but he does make an accidental point. Would you use unfinished 2x4s to build?
The nominal 2x4s of today are more uniform and have less splinters. But for a barn, why not use rough cuts? Today's man does not erect their own barns anymore. That's why we have the shrunken studs.
>>
Here in europe in my area shit build quality peaked in 1970 since then the quality went up every year. But its cause of regulations and the need of structural engineers when you build. But still we dont have the quality of pre 1900 buildings. But to be honest in pre 1900 there was good quality and for low workers the working homes were really low quality lile sheds.

BC hydro ( elecric company ) used to sell their old polls sawed up. 9 foot boards and real rough sawn 2x4s, actually are 2x4". best fence i ever made, 25 years old now without a scratch. lol, prolly toxic as fuck though, treated cedar.
