Has someone ever been able to genetically modify a whole organism?
Please note: I am NOT talking about making a organism that's already genetically modified from birth (such as glowing cats/fishes); I am talking about taking an already fully-formed organism, THEN genetically modify it.
If not, how far are we from that being possible?
