I hate college football now and I am officially going to transition to being an nfl fag.
The more I think about it the more it becomes obvious that college football is just too retarded and unfair. Why should my school compete against LSU and Ohio State. We are just a school and they are an entire fucking state. We are not even remotely the same thing. Let the fags who want to spend the most money win their pointless trophy. Nobody is going to care about college football in the future. Fuck each and every last one of you as well.

Big schools are just an official Football Minor League now and it becomes more cynical every year.
Sure there are dozens of kids on every team who are just there for a good education at a school that will either get them prime pussy, some rich older booster friends and a good degree
But the starters, stars and difference makers on the field are mostly just treating it as a way to get exposure for a better draft position over 3-8 years.
Is the Soul gone? Kinda.
But it's the same split there was before, it's not like every kid USC, Michigan and Texas brought in from 1920-2020 was a 4.0 GPA Polymath akin to Plato or Indiana Jones, a physical beast who attended classes at an Elite University on Weekdays and Thrashed opponents on the Weekend?
Nah most of those guys were dumb as fuck, but there were a few in every class who saw it as a free pass to a good degree and life outside of football.
It is sad that we don't get to fall in love with players like we used to. You know it used to be he was the guy at your school, now it's a season here, a season there, he redshirted over there.

Your memory seems to be faulty. Michigan didn't get stripped of anything but some playoff money for a playoff they ended up not qualifying for anyway, and a suspension for a coach who is no longer employed there. On top of that, the NCAA president went on record saying they won the '23 title "fair and square."
The Hammer never came. Michigan got off scot-free. Cope and seethe.

Does anyone in this general actually care about the fact that college football is dying because they are now paying players and players are transferring all over the place? The NFL is dying because college players are not being coached. Now High school players are getting paid and colleges are the pros are going to suffer further. I think the sport is cooked. I don't see a way that this is sustainable.
>>
>>153166420
The NFL would rather have a free minor league instead of paying for their own and doing all the developing themselves. Anyways, paying college players weeds out the guys who are just in it for the bag earlier. Pre-NIL you wouldn't know that's their only motivation until they got their rookie contract or their second contract, now you find out in college if all they care about is money.
>>
>>153166543
Bullshit. even with money under the table and corruption, players went to college for 3-5 years. Rarely would someone transfer like Cam Newton. There's no consistency. College players should not be paid. They are getting a free college degree in most cases. Most will not even go pro. They should not be paid a penny. They need to develop and learn systems. NFL needs to keep coaches longer as well. NIL has singlehandedly destroyed the sport of football. Nobody thinks its a good thing. All the famous people in college football world have said it's destroying it.
>>
>>153166586
Newton transferred because he nigged a little too hard at Florida (stolen laptop). Anyways, I'd agree about not paying players if we were going all the way to protect the academic side of things and not just singling out one issue. Saying "don't pay the players" without any other changes is half-assed because they're not the only ones whose greed is shitting up football. Things like hard caps on coaching/AD administrator salaries so they're in line with professors, redirecting most of the money football earns to academics instead of a perpetual arms race, not allowing coaches to push players into meme degrees so they have more time for foobaw, telling TV Jews they no longer control kickoff dates/times and not giving athletes any special admissions consideration would also be necessary if you're trying to purify the sport.
Anything short of that is a hypocritical half measure. As long as we're going full capitalism and allowing the schools and coaches and administrators to behave like CFB is a big business, the players deserve their slice of the pie too. You can't sign multi-billion dollar media deals and structure your season ticket packages like an NFL team, then claim the people we're all buying tickets to see and tuning in to watch only deserve some shit tier degree. It's no longer the 60s where most people didn't go to college and any degree at all was a ticket to a comfy life.
>>
>>153166713
Why do you give a shit about players being paid? You don't even get paid for a college degree anymore. I mean how bad do you enjoy cucking yourself as a sports fan. It's bad enough NFL players get paid the money they do.
>>
>>153166758
Because I actually played CFB (before NIL) and understand it's a full time job that also causes permanent damage to your body. The players either deserve some of the massive revenue they help generate or we need many more changes in addition to "don't pay players" if we're trying to keep up the amateurism larp. You want to bitch about anyone ruining CFB, direct it at the NCAA. They could have worked with players and schools to introduce some kind of NIL system with reasonable guard rails and regulations if they weren't a bunch of boomer idiots fighting it to the death every step of the way until the courts forced the Wild West meta down their throat.
I think people would have been fine with allowing players to sell autographs/memorabilia at market value, increased stipends to have a little more spending cash and a system that held most money earned by players in escrow, then paid out after they graduated to set them up with a nice nest egg to start their life. You could even make it where they get a bonus if they graduate from the same school they signed with out of high school to discourage early transfers. But we can't have that because the NCAA's constant losses in court established a precedent where all rules are illegal. The professionals who were supposed to safeguard college sports fucked it up. As for the NFL, every dollar not going to millionaire players goes to billionaire owners instead.
>>
>>153166823
awwww you poor baby you played a blood sport and got free college. NCAA has always been a problem. But you people wanted college playoffs and all this shit instead of fixing the situation. Again, boo hoo. Cuck yourself giving money to kids who laugh at you and your work. They probably would call you trash and how the failure is your own. Your playing career will be even more worthless now that you support the watering down of individual programs. You sir, are a shit football fan. I don't care about your concussions. You were treated well. Also college is supposed to be treated like a job. Not fun. I hope you never have a job in football because your idea of what is success is garbage.

The problem was the NCAA was suspending dudes for having youtube channels or being taken out to dinner by somebody connected with the NFL. You had guys playing in front of a hundred thousand people making the school millions of dollars but they couldn't afford diapers for their kid. Players were getting like $2,000 a year from the school for personal expenses which is frankly absurd. If the NCAA would have relaxed even just a tiny bit on stupid shit like that and increased the stipend players received the issue most likely wouldn't have been dragged into court. The NCAA made their bed.

>If the NCAA would have relaxed even just a tiny bit on stupid shit like that and increased the stipend players received the issue most likely wouldn't have been dragged into court.
They did. The NCAA was always retreating on compensating players. In 2015 they raised the limit to full cost of attendance (including housing, food, clothes, etc. ) plus $5000. Before that they allowed schools to buy insurance policies on behalf of the athletes. Before that they allowed them to keep prizes won at Olympics or other tournaments. Nothing short of unlimited cash earnings was ever going to be enough to save the amateur aspect.

All of the Dakota schools are located near the eastern border of their state. The MAC might be less travel for them than the Mountain West. NIU being in the MWC might help a bit, and if all four eventually joined, being able to play each other would be helpful in any conference they join. The Mountain West however does seem more eager to add new members than the MAC.
>>
>>153170937
Perhaps, but it is laughable the NFL is rewarding this mong for throwing the most interceptions 2nd half of season. So people get rewarded for being the worst now? Look at that completion % too, this is a joke. I am not even mad, I have come to expect this kind of stuff from society these days.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>153170983
Adding the Dakota schools as full Mountain West members would bankrupt Hawaii. Going to NIU once every four years for football is quite different than all sports needing to travel to the midwest at least once per season, and for some sports, multiple midwest trips. When they were in the Big West for non-football sports, they just had to go to California. Now they have to go all over the west and even the midwest, the travel budget is going to explode.
>>
>>153171201
you don't understand the value of their easy schedule. When you consider that they have a near 0% chance of not making the playoffs with a bye it makes a lot of sense why they have such odds.
We have seen OSU and Miami win or almost win the natty after almost not making the playoffs. Its very possible in any given year that the very best team doesn't even make the playoffs. Notre Dame doesn't have to worry about that shit.
>>
>>
>>153169691
I do believe this. The NFL started restricting practice times and then college football followed. This has resulted in more injuries and worse players.
>>153170104
So the answer is to just pay them? That's insane. College players deserve NOTHING. Anyone who went to a major college knows that they are worshipped at their schools already.
>>153170164
You don't give a fuck about anything but gambling? Yeah well that won't sustain the sport.
>>
NIL and transfer portal has destroyed college football. This cancer is trickling down to high school. Soon there will be no players playing football. This shit is a bubble going to burst. NFL fans live in delusion same with college football fans.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>153171980
It will make a difference, they practice less in the modern game. They practice in high school and college less because of the 2010s shutouts from the NFL player league that has trickled down. Tom Brady has talked about this countless times. They don't practice. They have bad form. They are not pros. On top of that they are all free agents since high school now? Getting paid money? They are going to SUCK in the future. Parents who do actually have kids are not letting them play football on top of that.
>>
>>
>>153172145
It does matter. Colleges are good and bad based on their ability to recruit. Players used to be proud of where they went to school. They were always known for where they played. It's part of American history and culture. To turn that into transferring players with no limits or budgets or retractions is insanity. How can you not see a problem with that?
>>
>>153172169
Im strictly talking about the NFL. I don't think its good that players are all transferring everywhere. I also don't think its likely to continue. Many colleges are rolling out multi year NIL contracts and its unlikely that the portal will go so crazy in the future.
So many coaches were fired, which set the expectation that many players would be in the portal. Which meant that teams were not willing to negotiate as much with their current players who demand more money. Which caused even more players to go into the portal... I dont think it was a normal portal cycle at all.

Indiana never earned Mendoza and he will always been seen as a mercenary just like all these athletes. But what kind of pathetic cucked vicariously living through athlete sports fans are yall that you actually want to see the game get turned into mercenary ball where everything is about money? Why do you want these college athletes to be paid? They were already fuckwads to begin with. They are treated like kings in their college towns. Most of them are niggers from the ghetto who would be killing eachother otherwise. Now they get money and this corrupts the game even further. It's now easier to fix games with criminal organizations because they are now all in the game. Now even the players are corrupt. Congrats. But now you can feel better than some teenager is getting paid millions of dollars. What the fuck is that? You don't get anymore. Your dad never got money when he played.
>>
>>153172531
You're the one claiming transferring is bad for development. Would Cal and Justin Wilcox have developed Mendoza into a Heisman winner about to be drafted first overall after going undefeated? If your answer is no, he made the right choice and is better for transferring.

Because their dominance streak in FCS is over, they had a nice long run but the others are catching up, especially the Montanas. They had a second round exit to Illinois State of all teams.
They won in 2024 but no longer have a dominance streak, and they have a small market. If they wait too long they will fall in dominance and not be as lucrative to FBS conferences, while fan attendance drops since they were used to natty seasons for 15 years

I went to a montana college and I HATE this cancer. I don't want Montana schools tapped into this free agency shit. FCS football was perfect for decades. But of course they are paying them and they are all in the transfer portal now. Montana schools and all the big successful football programs were built with corruption getting ghetto niggas from Compton, California mixed with a few friday night lights white boys from the big sky state. College football owns the state and now that they can just buy whoever they want, the big sky conference along with the Dakota schools are now going to have to compete with big pockets from small east coast schools though. Also Montana schools have big pockets. Those schools make a shit load off their football and tuition is expensive now. I just can't comprehend college players making millions. They would get away with murder in the state of Montana as is. Now they are just going to be worse.

The point being that everyone was paying players. Thus they would need to turn down money from other teams to stay home. Which of course wasn't happening.
>>
>>
>>153178207
It was a problem that players from the south were staying home? Lol it’s a problem for players to stay home and not be mercenaries…. The mask falls off and you reveal your true evil devil face for all to see
>>
>>153178755
The problem was non-SEC teams would break rules and get hammered by the NCAA for it while SEC teams would cheat their asses off and the NCAA either did absolutely nothing about it or gave them a slap on the wrist. Extremely biased rule enforcement was the SEC's biggest advantage before NIL. If the NCAA is going to have different rulebooks for different conferences then fuck it, get rid of the rules entirely so everyone has an even playing field. Now we're seeing who wins rings when the NCAA can no longer play favorites and teams outside the SEC are also allowed to do whatever they want.
>>
>>
>>153178894
You are literally a schizo. This is a fucking conspiracy theory lmao

>it's a conspiracy you don't have any proof
Around the time SEC schools started a gentleman's agreement to STFU and stop snitching on each other was also when they stopped being punished by the NCAA and started winning a lot of titles. Why would they need a Mafia-tier vow of silence in the first place if they weren't cheating? This is all well-documented but you'll pretend it didn't happen and SEC teams dindu nuffin.
Anyways, just look at how the NCAA handled similar violations in different conferences to see the double standard.
>USC is hammered because they "should have known" Reggie Bush's family in San Diego was taking benefits from an agent
>nothing happens to Auburn because the NCAA says it's unreasonable to expect the school to know Cam Newton's dad was pimping him out to the highest bidder, keep in mind they came to this conclusion just a few months after sanctioning USC
>Ohio State is hit with a bowl ban for an undefeated season over players trading memorabilia for tattoos
>Texas A&M's punishment for Johnny Manziel selling autographs is he has to sit out for half a game vs a cupcake
Now the SEC no longer has the NCAA protecting their schools while sanctioning the competition and what do you know, SEC schools can't win shit anymore.

Slavery ended after the Civil War, Jimbo. You don't own bucks anymore. I didn't hear much crying about stealing players from outside of the region when players like Tua (Hawaii), Burrow (Iowa), Bowers (California) and Najee Harris (CA) were helping SEC teams win titles. The SEC's last two Heisman winner (Daniels and Young) were also Californians.

You are just an NFL fan. Perfectly happy to root for complete mercenaries that have nothing to do with the frozen rust belt piece of shit you call home.

Texas does historically have pretty bad development for line of scrimmage positions because our program is too noble to distribute steroids. Thankfully we can now outsource development to poorfag schools like yours and just pick the best players. Thanks

Nothing bro. Only that it’s too obvious and everyone is gonna try this strat.
Blue bloods have been wasting so much fucking money on literal 17 year old “early enrollees” who play on the line and they literally won’t be able to contribute for several years. And then they will go to the NFL after 1 season of looking promising.
You would have been way better off just getting some grown ass man who may not have an NFL future but is strong right now and knows how to play.

So the big 10 are pushing hard for more and more teams in the cfp and the SEC is fighting to keep things the same.

Period! So is Texas. So is Michigan. So is Washington. So is Oregon. So is Georgia. I watch 10-15 games a week live from September-early December. I think I’m allowed to have an opinion on who I think is BETTER!! If Notre dame doesn’t like itbis “The BEST 12” tell the conference commissioners to change the protocol to “MOST DESERVING.” Until then I and everyone else is certainly is allowed to give an opinion in a subjective discussion!!
