it's a rich man's sport, like golf

Americans and Qataris should win then

it takes brains

It's the weakest racket sport, high level badminton and squash make tennis look like a children's game. marketing and money are the only reasons it's as big as it is, a lot like F1 in motorsport

He said rich.
Having a G wagon and the latest iPhone doesn't make you rich

Because most non-Europeans (except Aussies and Americans) are either very poor (like my country) or uninterested.

Argentina plays well tho, but they are spiritually Euro

Your country is much richer than US, my rich politican friend who went to Switzerland never saw poverty there

This. Alcaraz played badminton and Federer played squash which is why their touch and footwirk is superior

But tennis has more money because
>outdoor sport
>bigger stadiums
>looks better on tv
>better scoring system
>no chinks matchfixing

it makes sense to be a tennis player if you are swiss since your leagues and national team are never gonna be good

>why don't people want to play real life pong

I'm surprised how America in particular couldn't produce a slam winner since Roddick. They're rich enough and the sport is popular enough so their talent pool is huge
Also I think that in like 20 years we might start seeing some Chinese players in the top 20. Their development system for team sports is shit but it proved successful for individual sports as seen in the Olympics, so over time it should carry over into tennis as well. 2 years ago they got their first player in the top 50. Plus the Shanghai masters probably helps to make the sport become more popular there and you just know that the Chinese leadership would want to have a local player win it at some point to satisfy their ego

Tennis is no longer popular in the US unfortunately. But we have a large enough population to where we should be producing /talents/. I blame the USTA.
