when a battering meant something
nowadays it'd be forgotten the very next week
no one remembers united losing 7 (SEVEN) - 0 to Liverpool, it's crazy
Farcelona hummiliated Halal like 3 or 4x last season as well, it doesn't matter because we're in another season of football like a fucking tv series or something

It would've been perfect if they had the teams swapped.

>battering
You mean peak Barcelona corruption. Clear penalty denied to Madrid before half time for it to be 1-1 and Pep escaped any sanctions for his stunt delaying the ball. If it was Mourinho or Simeone, they would have been barred a game or two. Must have been those Catalonia elections they had the day before that had the league a little bit more festive for Barcelona to pull through.

>Xabi: “The first game was 5-0 to Barcelona. It was my worst experience on a football pitch. After 20 minutes I wanted the game to be over."

>Iker Casillas: "What was the most difficult match of your life?"
>Marcelo: "The 5-0 defeat against Barça at the Camp Nou in 2010. Damn, we couldn't even see the ball, we had our eyes blindfolded that day. I said to myself: 'But what's going on?' My God, there was Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pedro, everyone!"
>Casillas: "We played against the best Barça in history."
>Marcelo: "Pedro. A lot of people don't remember him. But he was so strong."
>Casillas: "It was a super team, honestly."

OH NO NO NO NO

Drama queens. At this point its all marketing. It's even in Barcelona's tour showcasing their "beautiful game" 20 minutes in, it was only 2-0 they could have been awarded a penalty and Valdes could have seen red.

I don't see Real celebrating this much with their huge wins.

Man U are shadows of their previous selves, while Spain has always had the same top two teams.

It's like all the German players' quote about Spain's Tiki Taka at the World Cup. Sure they didn't see the ball but even after all that possession, Spain won off a set piece.

>Mourinho: We played very, very badly and they were fantastic. We gifted them two goals that were bordering on the ridiculous. It is our own fault.

> Mourinho: When you go 2-0 down you have two choices. You can say 'let's leave it at this' or you can take a risk and try to get into the game. They are very quick and dangerous on the counterattack and we paid for that. When they scored the third, the game was over. I knew we had no chance. We felt impotent. I am disappointed because I expected more but at that point all I wanted was for us not to lose our balance on the pitch.
