>every single time
Thrice sounds a lot worse than "every single time", but it was a good run

>2006
It wasn't Messi's fault at least, he was not expected to carry the team at his age. Argentina probably would have won if Germany hadn't been hosts. The German team wasn't super impressive by any means, but they were solid and had a big mentality boost. Argentina felt too cocky in their quarterfinal, I think they let the foot off the gas a bit. In the penalty shootout, Germany just proved to have the stronger nerves and the better preparation
>2010
Maradona simply was a mediocre manager. The German team played exciting football, and Maradona couldn't deal with them. The game had a perfect development for Germany, early goal and so on. Messi did ghost quite a bit, he simply isn't a leader who pulls everyone along - but he definitely gets a partial excuse because Maradona could have prepared the team better for sure
>2014
It was a World Cup final, maximum pressure. Germany were at their peak, the 2010 team had matured and traded some (but not all) of its dynamic prowess for maturity. They were the favorites. But World Cup finals always have their own rules, both teams were scared and avoided mistakes - Germany kinda failed at that. Argentina could have won. Messi squandered some chances himself, but not all of them. Boateng and Hummels did a great job at locking him out. Again, Messi couldn't prove he's a leader for Argentina. Losing a World Cup final to 2014 Germany isn't a disgrace, though

Come home, Frankish man. Karl rests in Aachen, woefully lamenting that half of his empire lost its way in the face of Welschtum
