The cherry on top of slurping Chisora so hard and being so hilariously wrong, again, would be if after the nonce's out of pocket 'dead dad' posts, Chisora ended up getting a brain bleed.
Then again, even before tonight he probably only had 10 years left with all the trauma he's taken.
14 losses, the epitomy of britbummery.

Absolute robbery
Im sure the punch stats will back this. In no universe did wilder out-land chisora.
The only knockdown wilder scored (which btw was actually him pushing chisora out of the ring) was partially negated by the docked point making the round a 9 - 8
Chisoras knockdown was also a slip though lol. The ref in this fight was a shambles. The judges were a shambles
115-112 chisora was probably the best call. No idea what the other judges were watching.

it looked like they were both underwater. del running forward and punching in slow motion, wilder plodding backwards to the ropes, then del falling onto him and them clinching. over and over and over... few decent shots here and there, mainly from del but he also kept falling out the ring and looked absolutely knackered the entire time. wilder got one decent punch in but got deducted for some reason i missed, then more of the same. del landed a lot cleanly. but they didn't really do anything. wilder did pretty much nothing but lean on him and clinch. ref was helping chisora the whole time though i'd say. i'd call it a draw but it was a disgusting mud fight and not very good.
pretty much a draw.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
Do I know shit about boxing if I actually expected Wilder to win? Just not by decision...
I expect him to land like he did, but I expected the shots to be more clean and impactful. He dropped Del a few times, but I expected Wilder let his hands go a bit more and actually try to time Del. Unironically, le prime Wilder would have stopped Delboy
>>
>>
>>154117905
Not necessarily, but it wasn't a DKSAB possibility to have Wilder to win it. Both guys are old. Yeah he got beat up by Zhang and hasn't looked so great since Fury, but Chisora is also old as fuck even if a crafty vet. Came in fat as fuck too. Close fight, so you made the right call I guess, could have gone to Chisora seems like
>>
>>
>>154117931
Losers are really desperate to bring Usyk down. They just hate losing is all. Some day they'll come to respect Usyk's achievements. No matter what happens from here, he cleared out the division when nobody believed he could before he moved up.
>>
>>
>>
>>154117947
He’s a family man and a believer, always treated all his opponents with respect. Literally the most humble heavyweight champ for decades. Of course, it’s always better to have an enemy you’re supposed to hate, but I do find it strange that he specifically has so many haters
>>

The beginning of this exchange is what I expected and why I thought Wilder would stop him, but it seems he just can't put punches together properly lol

I'm gonna be real. I don't know if AJ goes through Wilder easily like he should. It's strange Wilder WANTS to fight AJ like he wants to fight Fury, and I wonder if that actual desire will encourage him to let his hands go. Regardless, AJ has looked way better than Wilder consistently. He's much more fit, refined, and his power has stayed consistent

Interesting. The 2nd UD win (presumably) after Fundora. I don't know why this was at 160, but I'm pretty sure he's fighting Spence at 154. That's honestly a 50/50 fight
Oh who am I kidding, Spence last fought when Jesus was alive. Tim by decision
>>

Yeah, tim just confirmed he was trying to get him out. Shocker. It's strange that Tim is actually a good comeback fight for Spence. Both guys trying to come back from a big lost, but one guy hasn't fought for forever

>The nonce is going to have to cope and cry about this all night.
Called it. Chisora lost, nonce, get over it. You'd think you'd be used to your shitty picks getting beaten over and over by now, particularly with someone who already has 13 losses any time he went up against champion or even top 10 competition.
>>154119138
>Seething brown.

>>
Can someone explain how Wilder gets away with these absurd and frankly incriminating post fight statements where he's essentially saying he carried Chisora and purposely drew the fight out because he cares about his family? Why would anyone pay to see this clown after that? Is he there to do anything other than some weird form of personal activism? I thought the point of pro boxing was to destroy your opponent. He's such a fucking disingenuous weirdo and full of shit.
>>
>>154124745
He's lying his ass off and trying to cope with the fact that he isn't young enough to make up for his lack of boxing with explosiveness anymore lol. Every time he hurt Del, he started sprinting and clearly tried to get Del out, barring the round he thought he was in a movie and said "I love you" to Del and missed his fucking shot (lol) and pushed him out the ring.
I forgot what I was saying... Anyway, Wilder is a joke and believes he's a main character in a movie stuck in the real world, but he's actually just a clown
>>
>>154124745
>>154124775
Wilder has been goofy and unhinged since day one, cut him some slack. Plus it's not far fetched for Wilder to pull back against Chisora, they are friends clearly, not saying Wilder would've KOed Chisora if he actually tried
>>
>>
All these so called experts saying this fight wasn't technical. Let's see:
>Chisora going to the body then swing up to the head like what Maidana did against Broner, landing all night
>When Chisora tried to duck under da right hand Wilder threw uppercuts
>When Chisora tried to lunge in Wilder threw check left hooks
>Wilder smothering Chisora to nullify Chisora's wide hooks, but Otto couldn't do that
>Chisora's body work potentially nullified the power of Wilder's right hand
This fight was more technical than Itauma Franklin and Fundora Thurman.
>>
>>
>>154124775
>>154124994
Well and just the fact of him saying all this soft shit about the fans not caring about you after you retire is just so gay. Listen buddy, you chose to get involved in a sport where the object of the game is to knock someone unconscious. The fans don't owe you shit beyond the transaction you have with them when they pay to see you fight. But he's always talking about both sides of his mouth. When he was knocking over cans at the PBC it was all about wanting "a body" on his record. Ever since he's been losing and getting his ass kicked now he's mr. family man. He's a total faggot
>>
>>154125304
>Ever since he's been losing and getting his ass kicked now he's mr. family man
I think he went extra soft after he almost killed Helenius with a tap. That's when he broke down post fight. Haven't seen him with that killer instinct since.
>>
The reason he doesn't throw the right hand anymore is because he breaks it constantly, he broke it on Fury's head in the 3rd fight. That's why he's shit now, his entire gimmick was throwing a hard right hand, he had no technical ability to compensate for this.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>154125561
The contrast from the PBC protection era to when he actually had to step up was so stark. Yesterday his entire strategy up close was to cling on for dear life and rabbit punch until the ref split em up. If he's not at the perfect distance to spam the right hand he's basically useless. He's never improved, if anything he's even more shit now. The one positive I'll give him is chin/ heart, i think the chin is mostly because he's got a pea sized brain, and the heart comes from the pride of this "kang" shit and not wanting to be humiliated by getting ktfo so he just stays up and takes it.
>>
>>154125561
Wilder was never good. Wilder was never *that* powerful of a puncher. He was a can crusher who had above average power but i see it like this:
when you have an up and coming prospect and they fight journeyman and jobbers for their first 10-15 fights, you'll often see that they'll have like a 80-100% knockout ratio, not because they have so much power, but because theres such a stark difference in skill/athleticism that theyll walk straight through the level 1 mobs they're put in to fight over and over. For Wilder's reign, it's like he was stuck in this phase of the career i mentioned for like 40 fights rather than 10-15. Which makes him look much more dangerous than he actually is. As soon as he stepped up to actual world level fighters, like guys who are genuinely top 10, you see very quickly that his power isnt really anything special in the big leagues. It's not that wilder's power has lessened, its that when he tries to throw that trademark straight right at a big ogre like zhang or a top level veteran like parker, or even a slugger like chisora, it either just bounces right off with little effect or gets negated by the fighter rolling the punch.
Someone like Dubois, Zhang (obviously), Itauma or even Joshua or bakole (if he actually trains) would walk through wilder and also all punch much harder. Wilder's power comes mostly from his massively long monkey arms generating a lot of leverage in the straight right. Which is impressive, but very limited in terms of application of that power. His hooks and uppercuts tend to be dogshit because he cant leverage his weight behind them at all like the straight right. I think joshua's nuclear right on ngannou is kind of what it would look like if joshua was stuck fighting the kind of opponents for 40 fights that wilder did. If joshua did that everyone would be talking about how deadly his right hand is.

Bad resume means the fighter wasn't tested. Eye test doesn't work if a fighter doesn't fight notable opposition, because you never get to see what the fighter is capable of.
Eye test only works to separate mediocre fighters, journeyman, and gatekeepers from potential elite and world level, but it doesn't go further than that. E.g. eye test says Hearns and Hagler are elite, but you cannot say based on eye test who would win.
It's hilarious that collectively everyone calls Canelo a washed up bum then immediately crowns Bud as the GOAT for beating a supposed wash up bum.

The knockout ratio doesn't tell the whole story, because Wilder has one punch KO power that causes stoppages, whereas others will need combinations and multiple punches. That's why he is considered to have one of the most powerful right hands because he gets you out of there with just one punch.
>>
>>154130150
Trolling aside, Bud's win over Canelo elevated him (despite Canelo's flaws) proved Bud had the skills necessary to defeat a natural* 168lber. How many other guys at 147 do you think could have pulled that off? Spence? Could Tim Zoo have done that at the time? Charla couldn't do it, and he was fine enough at 154
>>
>>
>>154130284
Canelo was definitely not a natural 168 and Bud even said Canelo is a small guy fighting in a big weight class. Bud looked way bigger than Canelo on fight night. Bud challenging Canelo was genius, much like Leonard and Hagler. But that doesn't change the fact that unlike Hagler, Canelo was mega washed when Bud faced him. But similar to Leonard I ultimately agree this fight elevated Bud, but not straight to the top of ATG list.
I didn't really rate Spence that high so I don't think he could've beaten Canelo. Zoo and Charlo definitely not. Anybody who comes forward and tries to knock Canelo out will not succeed because GGG's punches bounced off of Canelo's head.

>>
>>154130323
I wouldn't go so far as to put Bud at the top 10 boxers ATG, but his last three fights proved to me that he can do just about anything in a very clean fashion. He can go backwards and counter punch or go forward and let his hands go. That's why I believed he was the best boxer until he retired. I honestly believe if he was a HW or whatever class Inoue was at at the time, he would find a way to beat them.
He does have a weakness though. Mean Machine fucked him up lol
>>
>>
>>154130353
Bud can do everything and he is a hard match up for anyone in history based on his versatile skill set. But can he deal with Hearns sniper right hand, Hagler's pressure, can he dance with Leonard on the outside and Duran on the inside. He gives them all hard matches for sure, but unclear he can win. The caliber of fighters in Bud's resume IMO does not prepare him for the four kings.
>>
Bud fought two good fighters and retired. Talk about someone else who is actually going to do something in the sport still. You might as well just go to boxingforum24 if you want to discuss fantasy fights with retired fighters and fantasy ratings

>>154130452
As much as I've clowned on all of them, but especially Wilder, it was nice to have him and Chisora go at it, even if it was a slopfest. It's nice to Wilder take a stab at it and not just get flattened by Zhang or Parker. He's always been a bit of a bum, but his catch phrases are memorable even if cringeworthy. Bombzquad till this DAY.
Everyone gives Fury shit but he's a memorable character that at one point most of /box/ was rooting for to humiliate Wilder. The Usyk Fury spat pretty much broke this place and the schizos here but it was still fun even if a lot of the antics have overstayed their welcome.
There's a lot about these heavyweights that's also annoying though. The way Fury vs Joshua or Joshua vs Wilder never happened is a shame, and if it happens now it will certainly be past their prime, but better late than never I guess. They have personality but sometimes it feels like they talked a little too much at the expense of actually getting in the ring. Many bouts of inactivity and what have you. So many of them had more potential. It's just frustrating to watch them be mismanaged
>>
>>
>>154130452
Usyk and Zhang shouldn't be on that list; they aren't nearly as colorful as the other guys. I hope Torrez, Itauma, Anderson etc. just haven't been given the opportunity to show their personalities yet

>The way Fury vs Joshua or Joshua vs Wilder never happened is a shame
The fact that Wilder is fighting good opposition NOW at the twilight of his career is fucking stupid. He probably could have beaten Chisora earlier if Fury and Parker didnt give him the blue print on how not to die in 4 rounds. And don't get me started on AJ vs Wilder. It would have been electric during the late 2010s, early 20s, but now we're getting it after both guys have been knocked around all over the place? Give me a fucking break
>>
This talk about personality is making me realize how strange boxing is. Fighters create a persona to make the pre-fight tour more interesting, kinda like pro wrestlers. But unlike professional wrestling, they're actually training to hurt each other. Boxing is both real and fake. Very strange

Thankfully some fighter personas are authentic, like Wilder who is genuinely weird in and out of the ring. That's part of why I like boxing. Fuck the fake we must sell fights and pretend to hate each other type shit.
>>
>>
>>154130643
I actually had Ali in mind, who... I guess exaggerated his natural personality thanks to pro wrestling. Or Floyd who acted like more of an asshole to bait viewers into tuning in.
Ironically, AJ is all fake, and that's what makes his "character" more interesting lol
>>
>>154130676
Considering Usyk is campaigning for AJ undisputed in 2027, Kabayel could get that WBC belt very soon. No idea why Usyk is campaigning for that since he can’t retire off fighting Rico and he doesn’t have another fight scheduled yet. He needs to end it on a huge one and not some kick-boxing meme.
>>
>>
>>154130720
You say that but Mike Tyson just ended his career on a loss to Jake Paul. Worse things have happened than a meme fight at the pyramids. Also I don't see any big fight for Usyk coming even close to the high of Fury

Wanna be boxing pundits love to claim Shakur is top 1-3 p4p because he dominated le two time undisputed champion yadda yadda. Are we forgetting this two time undisputed lineal interplanetary champion went life and death against Sandor, Ortiz, AND Kambosos
>B-buh his lungs
Stfu. Styles make fights. Teo would never have beaten Shakur. Partially because Shakur is great, and majorly because Teo doesn't know how to fight those guys

Feather is 126 right? Good class

The next time a polarizing decision is made, I wanna poll you guys and see if you had Hagler beating Leonard. I feel like that fight helps determine how someone scores a bout. Last time I watched it, I had leonard winning, but a lot of people swear Hagler had him

Shakur is part of this post Mayweather group of fighters that only fight for money. They repeat this in interviews looking smug like they said something smart. Haney, Tank, Ryan all part of the same group. This is wack. Respect is given to boxers that chase tough challenges and legacy. If Shakur fights Benn and Ryan next I'm going to be very disappointed.
>>
>>154135111
Just realized Benn is Orthodox too. Isn't it strange how all of Shakur's lowlights are against southpaws?
>Zepeda
>Little power, but a relentless southpaw
>De Los Santos
>Hard hitting southpaw
What a coincidence that he's looking for orthodox fighters that he can easily control for 12 rounds
>>
>>
>>154135141
I disagreed with a guy on a similar topic a while ago, but man was he kinda right. All of these boxers talking about money, and using how much money they make as a way to attack other boxers or avoid fights it it isn't breaking any personal records. It's dumb, and it's even sillier that FANS will do the same thing but for OTHER PEOPLE'S money. Chisora is going to be cherished more than Tank; Inoue is going to be cherished more than Shakur, at this rate; and Usyk is going to be cherished more than Ryan because these guys are trying to fight the top guys in their class, not inflate their records and make a shitload of money

This blatant arrogance and authoritarianism demonstrate how easily we can lose our humanity while living under the influence of reddit and the CIA, and devolve into cringe and seething individuals when facing Brits who have Fury as their homegrown champion and are rooted in tradition.

His chin looked good vs Chisora, I was expecting him to start wobbling all over the place but he just smiled and kept his composure well. The problem with Wilder is he always looks like he’s losing because he keeps going backwards, but when he let his hands go he had success.

I think Wilder has a good chance because car crash AJ is training with Usyk, which likely means he's trying again to improve his technical boxing, like with Derrick James. AJ has this silly idea of wanting to be some technical boxer when he's better just swinging. AJ is going to do some stupid level changing and feints that only Usyk could do and eat a right hand.

Bakole is having management troubles
From his twitter:
>For everybody asking what is happening with me. I am ready to fight anytime but one man is trying to ruin my career: Ben Shalom. I don’t understand why he is doing it. He has been earning money from me for years and years and has kept me tied up in a contract. My lawyer has confirmed that my contract with him is finished. I try to move on and he sends crazy emails to everyone blocking me from fighting and earning a living. He is trying to scare me saying he will sue everyone if I fight and don’t pay him. I fight to provide for my family, not for Ben Shalom. He is not my promoter. I am ready to fight but I will not pay that man another cent.

Wilder’s win over Chisora is better than any AJ win since 300lbs untrained Andy Ruiz in 2019, arguably since Povetkin, who was 39 at the time of the fight.

I was talking about Magsayo, a Filipino boxer who recently became Zuffa's lightweight champion. But upon closer inspection, it appears Pacquiao is not part of the deal, as he is no longer affiliated with Pacquiao's promotion when he signed with Zuffa Boxing. Perhaps other boxers under Pacquiao's promotion would follow suit.

Crazy that Fury's resume is just performing worse against the opponents AJ destroyed, plus ducking and retiring six times to avoid others. It'll be the same if Wilder actually fights AJ instead of ducking him again, or losing to someone else before then, like Parker and Zhang.

This is a typical scene in Ukraine. A man is being hunted down and beaten like an animal to be sent to his death at the front.
This is not a typical victim. This is Oleksiy Mazikin, a boxer who competed at the 2001 World Championship.
A silver medalist.
On his way to the final, he achieved a notable victory over future world boxing star Alexander Povetkin.
A participant in two Olympic Games (Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004). In both cases, he reached the second round.
A multiple-time Ukrainian champion and medalist.
The West continues to hypocritically pretend not to notice this NIGHTMARE.

Mad looking at that resume that Matchroom casuals used to go on about. Povetkin was his last legit win. He could've fought Fury, Wilder, Joyce, Zhang, Chisora, Hrgovic, etc. at any time yet he refused.

Retard, not everyone is the same poster. And nothing about that stops what I said from being true.

My opinion is no, if the benchmark is Mayweather and Pacquiao which were the two biggest boxing stars that everyone here knew about. Boots doesn't seem like the super star type and he doesn't anybody to pass the torch, unlike Oscar with both Manny and Floyd.
