A continuation and generalization of the Yuki.la archive dump threads.
Post torrent scrapes and dumps from other (and late) archives and discuss any certain occurring idiocy from other archivers so others can consider on taking better charge and preparation to archiving 4chan threads.
Last thread dump: https://archived.moe/t/thread/1033260/
the Uber-compress dump: https://archived.moe/t/thread/1108330/

To reiterate, this was DMCA, LOL's "uber-compressed" dump of Yuki.la from the other thread, but mods deleted the thread for no fucking reason, unless it was to keep the threads singular.
So I'm reposting it here for better visibility:
>I was unhappy with the file-size and compression method in the original torrent, so I decompressed all the .TAR.GZs.
>I then recompressed the TARs using the best compression method available for text files, PPMD.
>This uber-compressed archive is meant for long-term storage of the data for datahoarders, not for immediate use.
>Here are the archive's statistics:
>Original uncompressed input size: 3.59 TB
>Original compressed input size: 517.71 GB
>Original number of files: 52,686,360
>Final output size: 249 GB
>Final compression ratio: 6.77%
>Final archive decompression speed: 16 MB/s

you pretty much describe the nature of the internet, although it's not exclusively for idiocy.
or are you going to convince me other sites are much in a brighter spot?

Smaller forums are at the ends of the distribution, they're either places of genius or the utmost retardation and weird shit. Mainstream websites are at the center, and the center is a place of average, we're idiotic.

If I wanted to archive this in seperate 40 gigabyte segments to make it survive until the heat death of the universe, how can I do that on linux? I can't figue out multipart zips at the moment and I think I'm retarded
I back everything up onto physical disk so that it will survive electromagnetic radiation etc
>>

There are archive formats (bzip2) that split a file into independently-compressed sections, so that corruption is localized to one section and the majority of the file can still be recovered. But stitching together uncorrupted sections still takes know-how and effort, so splitting into independent files on boards and thread number ranges might be more robust. Or you can do both.
More important though is keeping it backed up to multiple locations, and keeping those backups fresh.

I will remember this site fondly as it shaped my humor and behavior as a young adult but now it is time I move on. This site is holding me back from my true potential.

Yesterday I started to make some of my python objects capable of loading the html files from the pol tar.gz. Can't extract all the data the 4chan api gives, but if there's something in the html files, it can be extracted.
I don't know how much more I can tweak this or how well will it perform, but it's probably more useful to extract the data into the "standard" API's JSON format, because while html is highly compressible, the majority of the data is just redundant html. I expect my extracted data to be significantly smaller than these, even uncompressed.
So my question is: if I test my code for more boards (there are can be some differences, like pol has flags and IDs), will you guys with better bandwidth extract the data and share it in this new format?
Also I wouldn't pack a whole board into a single tar.gz, monthly batches at most.
And I won't share data because I can't afford the bandwidth, but I can upload the python code somewhere (although I'm gonna have to somewhat document it) and others could convert and share the archives of the board of their interest...

im so sick of this stupid fucking meme, yes there are people that trolled but ive seen a just as many serious and insightful posts on here as i have seen shitposts, though recently the shitposts have gone up and you know why? you know WHY? its cause of faggots like you perpetuating this mindset that 4chan is the funny maymay site ONLY good for shitposts and that there cant ever be any serious discussion of any sort whatsoever because this is 4chan so all discussions MUST be maymay shitposty garbage, you spread this shit to all the stupid fucking redditors who then flood the site and turn it into nothing but pure shitposting, shitposting wich isnt even GOOD because its all regurgitated REDDIT SHIT

you're a newfag my man, I've been here since 2007 and the majority of 4chan boards with a few exceptions were always just different flavors of /s4s/. it has changed a little because people grew up but shitposting has always been prevalent here and the majority of "reddit shit" you mention is stuff that originated here but stopped being cool and considered reddit by retards trying to fit in

I would say no, there are lots of modernized tools now.
Here are the scrapers I have tried
https://github.com/bibanon/neofuuka-scraper (works good, just have to set up the db schema yourself, see https://github.com/sky-cake/ayase-q uart?tab=readme-ov-file#neofuuka for help with that)
https://github.com/bibanon/neofuuka-scraper/pull/4 (with thread filtering)
https://github.com/sky-cake/Ritual (has the most flexible thread filtering)
https://github.com/bbepis/Hayden/tree/master/Hayden (works good, takes care of schema creation)
Here are the frontends I have tried
https://github.com/sky-cake/ayase-quart (works good, still being developed to add new features)
https://github.com/bibanon/ayase (bare bones, vulnerable to sql injection, only use yourself)

Have you ever wanted to archive 4chan or Lainchan? Here is how you can do that.
Set up a downloader. It will fetch from the appropriate APIs. I recommend https://github.com/sky-cake/Ritual.It will write to a sqlite database, and allow you to archive very specific threads like
.*(home server|wireguard|war.{0,1}driving). *
Set up the web interface. With it, you can browse just like on this website, and also search for posts! I recommend using https://github.com/sky-cake/ayase-quart.
These repos both have the necessary docs for you to get started. It should take 5-30 minutes to set up locally (setting regex's for what to download could take a while).
Enjoy!

/gap/ thread was killed or something. Maybe, I will post the newer 4chan /gif/ monthly releases here. >>>/gif/ is mostly about porn videos, and no 4chan archive HTTP websites dedicate themselves to /gif/ full images. I found this porn/erotic vid in "Someone's 1TB HDD, disk image" from
>https://leakjunky.site/magnet/leak-fzk1ctsmijci8gujzef0
>magnet:?xt=urn:btih:5c68830312e9b31547dcbf270bfc136cca410ef0&dn=wdc_w d10eads-65p.cat&tr=http%3A%2F%2Ftra cker.openbittorrent.com%3A80%2Fanno unce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.stealth.si %3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftra cker.torrent.eu.org%3A451%2Fannounc e&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fexodus.desync.com% 3A6969%2Fannounce
That torrent is 1 terabyte large (1,000 GB), but only only like 91 GB of the HDD image is actual files and folders. The rest of it is deleted data or sparse data, which is like random bytes. Therefore, if that torrent becomes unavailable, then I guess I'm fine with that.

4chan is a Futaba-style imageboard.
Boorus are Danbooru-style imageboards.

Booru.org definitely has overlaps with 4chan users and culture. They're both imageboards, and booru.org is part of that web which should be archived, regards of archive.org deleting it. Booru.org is an untrustworthy site as they purged lots of their data in the past and continue to do so. (Mass purge events, everyday mass deletions, etc.) The *.booru.org sites contain basically 0% AI-generated content. If you want it, I can probably make a torrent of it. Together, perhaps we can decentralize all of the *.booru.org websites!

>deal proposal rejected: failed validation: client available funds in escrow 0 not enough to meet storage cost for deal
Running "boost wallet list" = "Address | Balance | Market(Avail) | Market(Locked) | Nonce | Default | DataCap" with values under each of those headings. Can't make storage deals with FIL only in "Balance", has to be in "Market(Avail)"; not sure what "Market(Locked)" is. It's confusing because it refers to the same thing with two different terms: "market available" and "escrow". It's also confusing because you have to run two different programs: "boost" and "boostx". Run "boostx market-add 0.00111379" to put that amount of FIL into "Market (Avail)". BTW, Filecoin's HTTP retrieval thing that some SPs do seems cool.

Fuck you. I downloaded that and whoever made that archive is a complete retard. I've seen monkeys write better bash scripts, and most of the files are missing. This is easily the worst "archive" I have ever seen, you lazy fucking nigger. I could index it better by taking a shit on my keyboard.

It's 2025-05-25 and I haven't started working on 4chan_gif_2025_04.zip yet.
In this month I was messing with other stuff and not doing that. (For example https://app.ardrive.io/#/sign-in which is an on ramp for Arweave. I can't login to that site anymore even though I'm using the right password. Maybe they banned me: https://viewblock.io/arweave/address/2tHSFh3_pYVeENPnKnqY31szcnOCCMISE KOnbp0BPzQ?tab=items - files uploaded via ArDrive.)

An anon ITT said that these /gif/ datasets suck; if you feel the same way, then don't download them! Instead, download these:
https://archive.4plebs.org/_/articles/credits/ - such as:
https://archive.org/details/4plebs-org-image-dump-2015-10
and I can make torrents of 4pleb's dumps (with tarball indices) since IA's autogenerated torrents are usually broken.

I may be an enormous retard that knows nothing about technology, but I downloaded these and can see that there is a folder relating to different threads but don't know how to activate/use this to sort the files into threads. There is some good stuff here but basically useless unless I can just see threads that interest me and just look through those files. Scrolling through things and suddenly getting a bunch of people shitting makes this stuff a minefield.
Do I need some kind of program to sort them/view them in this way?

Atrocious Internet laws regarding porn and age verification are upcoming:
https://archive.is/2025.07.21-080458/https://pornbiz.com/post/17/the_s cam_of_age_verification
>Announcements about site-based AV give parents the illusion that their kids are protected, when in reality, nothing changes. Porn will still be everywhere.
>It’s an absolute joke — a placebo solution pushed by imbeciles who clearly don’t give a shit about minors.
>Device-level parental controls have existed for years, and can actually block a million sites. But politicians can’t take credit for them. So instead of empowering parents, lawmakers give them a headline and a false promise.
>Watch these pricks go on TV or social media and pat themselves on the back for “making the internet safer” — while anyone can still run a basic Google search and instantly find billions of porn images. Bold-faced liars.
In 2025-06-25 11:07:52 UTC, there was a brief power fault. The electricity was out for like 1 second, but resulted in "two" permanent data errors in my non-mirrored zpool. Oddly, it only affected one portion of the area (my area), as nearby areas were unaffected, like not having to fix the clocks due to electric power disappearing. zpools finished scrubbing and the results are ("sudo zpool status -v zd"):
- corruption in /zd/4changif/cronlog2.corrupt.txt
- corruption in /zd/4changif/4chan_gif_2025_05/Ad_04o1zedRanhalvJ029g
File "cronlog2.corrupt.txt" was quickly found to be corrupt and was recovered+replaced. File "Ad_04o1zedRanhalvJ029g" was slowly found to be corrupt and was moved today.

I haven't released 4chan_gif_2025_05.zip yet, but I'm closer now than before. A "sacrifice" must be made for it to work now. Since I have less than 0.1 petabytes of storage, I gotta free up some space. I'm thinking of deleting a copy of this one-terabyte full WARC of website pbooru.com:
>https://archive.is/2025.06.24-031405/http://fuckyoug4pzlp7lfgkjfq7hqu 6vvd2bztyhimj2hsdsh2hg7tif5pyid.oni on:2016/memento/20240725213643/http s://archive.org/details/warc_pbooru _com
>https://archive.is/2025.06.21-101456/https://archive.org/details/warc _pbooru_com
That site, which contained NSFW and SFW content, was deleted by the hypocritical fucks who run Archive.org, but it's still alive as a torrent:
>magnet:?xt=urn:btih:3850e42c8449a43e2959db46ad4985ded54408aa&dn=pboor u.com&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fopen.stealth.s i%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Ftr acker.opentrackr.org%3A1337%2Fannou nce&tr=http%3A%2F%2Ft.nyaatracker.c om%3A80%2Fannounce&tr=udp%3A%2F%2Fo pentracker.i2p.rocks%3A6969%2Fannou nce&ws=http://127.0.0.1:8080/ipfs/Q mUkD1dQv74Jk1e8q37QtZBi1KEn6KEJXuRX NH6Wt9LzKn/
You can worry less about me deleting my BitTorrent version because I have an identical IPFS version in my zpool of two seemingly-good-quality HDDs: see the webseed link and
>folder which matches to IA-exclusive files: /ipfs/QmPFERi5NpKoVTveEvJ5NjVuXRgLqnPFRkfvfP9KZDZJp8/
I wish I could seed the torrent version forever, but I've basically ran out of storage space for now. Perhaps a week in the future I'll delete one of my 3 copies. On a more positive note, I've reached a personal record of 5.0 or 5.1 terabytes uploaded in one qBittorrent session (without restarting the program or something crashing). (I could write more about such and such in this post: maybe later. Oh, since I gotta wait 120 sec. before posting. With BitTorrent, there's no guarantee that the same 1 TB will still be there at all three years later, but Filecoin can make such a guarantee. But the problem with that system is retrievability. https://filcdn.com/ is

Good question. Where's the 4chan hack/leak files. Perhaps people can run their own 4chan instance via their web server and PHP since it was made open source against gook-moot's wishes.

TL;DR: more /gif/ fap material and other videos cumming sometime this month, maybe. This sexy video had a filename of 15187ce321e1b1011a8bb24bfe6e978c.webm

Will delete that copy of that 1-TB torrent once it reaches last_activity=7_days_ago. It's now at about 5 days of inactivity.
Important news from /g/:

Speaking on the "parts" torrent here. It's essentially the only substantial torrent of rule34.xxx (yes, it's of that site -- >>>/g/106681331 -- and not some other rule34 thing). Important considerations:
- 2019 full site rip or something of rule34.xxx that is .tgz of a mongodb database
- Would have been better as raws or WARC, since it looks like you gotta download the entire 1.2 TB torrent and decompress it for anything to work. Databases are dumb like that: gotta have the whole thing for it to work at all (such as .sql and .sqlite).
- Only benefit of such a DB over raw or warc: search-ability. You might be able to search all of the stuff with whatever tags.
- Instructions from the torrent creator on getting the DB running (>>>/g/106674432): https://github.com/iscrapepornsites/r34tool/blob/master/torrent.md
- Stats: posts=3,152,187; files=1,904,217; chunks=10,363,477
- rule34.us *maybe* used this database when they started it in 2020, thinking of mirrors and such: >>>/g/106693537
>What is this rule34 thing? Is it just cartoon rule 34 junk or is there actual media worth archiving?
From >>>/g/106723966:
- Probably the MOST IMPORTANT REASON: The very untrustworthy booru.org runs rule34.xxx, and they did a mass purge of IRL porn (photos or real humans) in 2020 and 2021. Therefore, it's cool that this torrent is still alive as it should contain such mass deleted IRL porn.
- it's not a leak, but it may be considered one by today's shitty walled garden websites.
- torrent creator says it contains "Images, Videos, Gifs, Metadata", so I think along with binary files it contains webpages and user comments, etc.
- rule34.xxx is excluded from web.archive.org
- no ai slop
Other thoughts:
- archive.is contains a couple thousand out of the nine million rule34.xxx pages/files. Save and share those via the SingleFile extension (then, optionally, pack them into an ipfs memento thing which would be even better).

It's been inactive (no one downloading it) for 6 days and 22 hours. Will probably delete it after the next 2 hours or sometime today (2025-10-01 UTC).
>>1381178
Other reason to download the rule34.xxx torrent:
- That site deletes many things, so the 2019 grab likely contains many non-IRL/cartoon porn images and videos which have been deleted.
Many things were deleted between 2019 and now (2025). That sites adheres to DMCA, but it's worse than that. Without filling out a valid dmca order/letter, despicable artists will just message the site operators and the only content of the message is something like "remove my artwork!!! you heckin stole it from my twitter and patreon!!!"

Maybe the first time I've had a computer freeze from trying to delete something. (A crappy computer froze and not my significantly superior computer.)
>>1381178
>very untrustworthy booru.org runs rule34.xxx, and they did a mass purge of IRL porn (photos or real humans) in 2020 and 2021
Disgusting reason that they did that: out of greed. Advertisers were apparently annoyed that they couldn't categorize the website as "IRL porn only" or "non-IRL porn only"; there was no option for a porn site which included both, so they deleted everything IRL for their advertisers to categorize them.
>>1381179
>despicable artists will just message the site operators and the only content of the message is something like "remove my artwork!!! you heckin stole it from my twitter and patreon!!!"
And then in response rule34.xxx site operators would delete those image/video uploads, is was I was trying to say.

4chan_gif_2025_05.zip is being created now. 7z says:
>Add new data to archive: 2 folders, 16502 files, 43761596562 bytes (41 GiB)
Attached is a /gif/ video: this girl likes sucking cock so much that she squirted and/or orgasmed.

Finished deleting that 897.92-GiB torrent. Details on that, basically just for myself, which you can ignore:

Conclusion: trying to delete more than ~300 GB~240 GB at a time will result in a crash/freeze. Avoid this by deleting individual files instead of deleting "file*.gz" or "folder/". (If the zpool is DEGRADED and not ONLINE then this probably makes a freeze more likely.) Odd, ZFS transactions seemed to not take:

Thinking this one focuses on quality over quantity or completeness. Very slow download speed from the peer with 100%; "fast" download speed from the node with ~78%.
>can't be saved in [...] anymore
As of now (2025-10-19): looks like they undid this so they can be saved now. (Or maybe the video file URL I was trying to add to WBM had "/ad/" in the link as hexadecimal happenstance; links with "/ad/" = blocked.)

In the past, I created torrents via qBittorrent, but it's probably better or simpler to create them via a CLI using mktorrent.
With the "recent" Kubo IPFS update, you can mount MFS, which is a good feature addition. However, trying to edit a text file in there to add the newer /gif/ CID resulted in vim hanging for more than 20 hours:
>$ utc; ps -o etime 1081854; utc # vim /mfs/a/root/video/4changif/versions.txt

Running ":w" to save the text file never finished or I had to kill the ipfs daemon and vim processes. Alternatively, I think more simple I/O operations like "echo text >> /mfs/file.txt" works.

I'm freeing up 45 GB by deleting the unpacked version of that (folder "/zd/4changif/4chan_gif_2025_05/").It took about 33 minutes to delete that folder ("rm -r 4chan_gif_2025_05" = 2025-10-24T11:59:33.099561096Z -> 2025-10-24T12:33:56.444558090Z). I'm only keeping this 27 MiB as unpacked:

- I'm freeing up 80 GB (86187658786 bytes) by deleting an unpacked version of 4chan_gif_2024_12. Update below.
I'm keeping the unpacked version in another HDD at ipfs://bafybeihvwkkb2es54gh7fdguve7uhhfpirmunhumetup7l36hjmi5ycslm?fil ename=4chan_gif_2024_12 . Metadata files for "4chan_gif_2024_12/" (.txt and .txt.gz):
https://ar01.fyeo.io/raw/cUSWt7i-utT_h2aaBdasajGSB1s6cOZ1aPt03BKhIq0
https://ar.vnnode.com/raw/IekdN3yOWJzSEGIS1ZBJ4Dm5Vsna2nyzJGnkTOfSU3w
Folder 4chan_gif_2024_12/ was deleted 8 minutes and 30 seconds after issuing the command. Thought I'd be deleting all unpacked version of mine (thought I only had one), but I'll be keeping one plus this "highlights of 4chan /gif/ 2024-12" folder:
https://140.235.158.66/ipfs/bafybeibbaoeaf2vkal3bwikukej2x4tmdi632khjr vig5x4mlzntavicoe
"Highlights" includes attached video which is like "AI extending the video/image to show the woman's bare breasts but she's your old mother". Pretty horrifying or ugly or gross, especially if the woman in the video was in fact your mother. It's "Halloween themed" (like in "The Shining"), so I'm posting it.

I see someone downloaded magnet:?xt=urn:btih:33ac527fa58dff9fcdb94b5c614bf0c8162b4f15&dn=Poolsi de.Pounding.2011.DVD.ISO-MARES which is "rare". I found that to be motivational.
I might have been doing other things today and not working on 4chan /gif/ 2025-06, but some of those things aren't so easy to do now:

Electrical problems and my version of ZFS don't go well together. Perhaps I should update ZFS or get UPSs. Electrical inconsistency would probably break NTFS, ext4, etc. harder though (I basically don't use NTFS at all since months/years ago). Another brief power outage or some shit happened (resulted in a computer and one or more HDDs being turned off). A small or large amount of data was lost:
>$ utc; TZ=UTC sudo zpool import zd; utc
>2025-11-11T03:45:39.841789245Z
>cannot import 'zd': I/O error
> Recovery is possible, but will result in some data loss.
> Returning the pool to its state as of Mon 10 Nov 2025 09:49:41 PM UTC

> must be discarded, irreversibly. Recovery can be attempted

> is strongly recommended after recovery.
>2025-11-11T03:45:52.423634912Z

Update: only a small amount was lost, that being "non-critical I/O operations". Ages of HDDs as of 2025-11-11 03:53:06 Z:
>$ sudo smartctl -a /dev/sdc [...] Power_On_Hours = 10382 = 14.22 months

Forceful importation of non-redundant pool zd worked; hopefully nothing important was lost. 3.65 GB of data in mirror pool zc was apparently rekt; it was resilvered thanks to it being redundant, but I still hope nothing was lost. zpool status and info from "$ man zpoolconcepts # section 'Device Failure and Recovery'":
https://ario.resolve.bar/raw/icRnFd7WNlLZt-ZlIK1c3ud4-29bgu0zfNLBlclia 9M
>ZFS supports a rich set of mechanisms for handling device failure and data corruption. All metadata and data is checksummed, and ZFS automatically repairs bad data from a good copy, when corruption is detected. In order to take advantage of these features, a pool must make use of some form of redundancy, using either mirrored or raidz groups. While ZFS supports running in a non-redundant configuration, where each root vdev is simply a disk or file, this is strongly discouraged. A single case of bit corruption can render some or all of your data unavailable.
>[...]Checksum errors represent events where a disk returned data that was expected to be correct, but was not. In other words, these are instances of silent data corruption. The checksum errors are reported in zpool status and zpool events. When a block is stored redundantly, a damaged block may be reconstructed (e.g. from raidz parity or a mirrored copy). In this case, ZFS reports the checksum error against the disks that contained damaged data. If a block is unable to be reconstructed (e.g. due to 3 disks being damaged in a raidz2 group), it is not possible to determine which disks were silently corrupted. In this case, checksum errors are reported for all disks on which the block is stored.

I'm in charge of 4chan /gif/ monthly releases. I'm hitting a scalability issue with qBittorrent. I have many torrents or many files across the torrents (hundreds of thousands of files, maybe millions). When starting up qBittorrent, sometimes the computer freezes shortly after. So I would startup the computer and qBittorrent 2 or 3 times (perhaps more) and each time it would freeze like that. qBittorrent is poorly designed because it tries to do this all at once on startup: check resume data on all torrents, upload, download, and recheck any torrents if the last time when it was closed it was rechecking. Rechecking is one-at-a-time, but checking resume data maybe isn't. A better design would be this on startup: only check resume data, then once that's done, do whatever.
Anyways, to fix this problem, I MAY HAVE TO DELETE this many-files 501-GiB porn folder (pornography type=clop):
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:7fb0eeb2893a77cf402845a40d39ada67bb1a04d&dn=SEC
I think most of or much of the artwork in that folder (images and videos) is from artists who put their work behind paywalls. Glad there's a torrent which fights against that. Pretty sure I have that in IPFS in a mirrored zpool (don't know the CID right now). At least with ipfs, when you start it up you don't have to do the stupid task of checking to see that every single file path in the system exists ("checking resume data" in BitTorrent). With ipfs, it only checks file paths when someone actually wants whatever (then dishes out the request if the data is there).

Using Lubuntu with X11 and probably not Wayland, I got this error:
>$ export DISPLAY=:0; 5.0.0.10.qBittorrent-Enhanced-Edition-x86_64.AppImage &disown
>[1] 1958
>$ qt.qpa.plugin: From 6.5.0, xcb-cursor0 or libxcb-cursor0 is needed to load the Qt xcb platform plugin.

>\ Available platform plugins are: minimal, offscreen, wayland-egl, wayland, xcb.
>\\$ # version 5.0.0.10
Fixed by installing these:
>$ sudo apt install libxcb-icccm4 libxcb-image0 libxcb-keysyms1 libxcb-render-util0 libxcb-cursor0 libxcb-xinerama0
Now getting this error:
>"WebUI: Unable to bind to IP: b.lan, port: 7000. Reason: Unsupported socket operation"
which should be easily fixable by editing /etc/hosts or whatever. Update: have to set the WebUI to be 10.0.0.222 or whatever b.lan points to in /etc/hosts = lame. Would be easier to manage if it worked when set to whatever.lan (per "hosts" file, points to 10.0.0.222) as it did in older qBittorrent versions. Maybe AppImages can't read /etc/hosts? IDK.
I hope this newer version of qBittorrent via the AppImage isn't as objectionable as previous versions.

qBittorrent Enhanced Edition 5.0.0.10 is nice, but it uses too much RAM on my 4GB-of-memory ramlet system. I wasn't using my other computer which has 32 GB of RAM. Otherwise, v5.0.0.10 is better than v4.6.3 in these ways:
- can scroll left and right + up and down when using webUI on mobile
- no freeze soon after startup with terabytes of torrents which contain millions of files (my situation)
- consistent upload speed of 1 to 9 MiB/s; version 4.6.3 would drop to 100 KiB/s to 2 MiB/s after an amount of hours or days
- not buggy when the main tracker link and the main webseed link are both .i2p URLs
Overall:
- qBittorrent v4.5.2 Web UI = no option for "Download in sequential order", "Download first and last pieces first"
- qBittorrent v4.6.3 Web UI = OK, "best", maybe use qbittorrent-nox (uses less RAM) instead of qbittorrent for this version
- qBittorrent Enhanced Edition v5.0.0.10 = uses too much memory
- All versions listed can't make the IP address column larger on webUI on mobile.
Notes: when using qbittorrent-nox in a non-headless Linux OS runtime, some save paths are set to sshfs mounts. If downloading to that save path which travels through 3 local computers (at /mnt/sshfs/1 -> /mnt/sshfs/2 -> /mnt/actual_location/1), then the overall upload speed becomes significantly slower. (/mnt/sshfs/1 = user1@10.0.0.216:/path1, /mnt/sshfs/2 = user2@10.0.0.215:/path2, and /mnt/actual_location/1 = in user3@10.0.0.214.)

I was doing some scripting and found more stupid bugs in qBittorrent v4.6.3. This one is:
- Truncated hash in API requests if using info hash v2
If a torrent uses the newer info hash v2, such as

>(btmh = "BitTorrent meta hash"? btmh seems to be ripping off of or basing itself on IPFS's multihashes, which are self-describing hashes.)
then the API link for the properties is

4chan_gif_2025_07: working on this, on step 10 out of 25
Over the next 7 days, maybe you'll be able to download /gif/ 2025 07; you can download more fellatio videos (blowjob videos). I was never too big on blowjob vids.
Fun fact -- "My Hero Academia is BASICALLY Greek Mythology!" -- that's the name of this video:

It's cool that torrents of those imageboards exist. web.archive.org (WBM) excluded rule34.xxx, so various images+videos+data which only existed in WBM due to them being deleted in rule34.xxx = lost. And what to do with new web data in rule34.xxx? After 2019? We or I can share it via IPFS, which works with archive.is and web.archive.org. If you want the script to create this stuff: ...; here's the output (attached video related):
(1) SingleFile, ipfs + ipwb, original URL and time of capture in URL
>https://archive.is/2025.12.02-002156/http://ponypalsh4y6olziyjlswfv67 4utokqhz3y6beym2erqtstcgadmacid.oni on:2016/memento/20251202001710/http s://rule34.xxx/index.php?page=post& s=view&id=14977460 (this .onion site has existed for more than one year now)
(2) SingleFile, ipfs + cid of (1), original URL and time of capture in webpage
>https://archive.is/2025.12.02-003127/https://quicknode.quicknode-ipfs .com/ipfs/bafybeidqy4qonggti3gtkidc dpn5nf76dk4ckeyp3gjvxvwrarqlezvg6y
>https://web.archive.org/web/20251202005047/https://ipfs.desmos.networ k/ipfs/bafybeidqy4qonggti3gtkidcdpn 5nf76dk4ckeyp3gjvxvwrarqlezvg6y?for mat=car (didn't load without "?format=car")
(3) WARC and raws: none! At least for now, only doing archive.today-style captures. WARC is useful for better quality or more complete captures. Raws are useful for having all webpage parts as separate files (then you can upload them to Arweave or something).
So for captures of rule34.xxx: do main image post page, tag history, and only full image if not already present in the page.

so uh... I understand the autistic need to archive stuff as per the OP but recent posts point towards sharing webms and stuff. >autistic need to archive stuff
Not so autistic if it's sharing rare or ephemeral data, which is what 4chan /gif/ full images are: no 4chan archive websites have these. 4chan /gif/ posts are:
- behind cuckflare walls in whatever 4chan archive HTTP website(s)
- in .json in the .zip in the torrents
Perhaps it's more autistic if I'm archiving more common data (less ephemeral) like tarballs in Arch Linux software repo mirror(s). Such as:
>https://web.archive.org/web/20251214093432/https://mirrors.urbanwave. co.za/archlinux/extra/os/x86_64/
I have some of these in ~8 GB folder ./var/cache/pacman/pkg/ (exact matches, ~4388 files)
>>1389123
*4chan /gif/ torrents do not contain duplicate video files
They contain duplicate posts in the .json files, like however many posts which just say "Bump"

I hope /gif/ WebMs posted along with these posts aren't too distracting. At least pay attention to this post your're reading (above text in this post).

Any oldfags have backups of pre 2010 stuff?
Ideally some version of chanarchive (formerly 4chanarchive) because that's what I used to use back in the day and I miss some of the threads on there.
Though from what I gather when it went offline there was some bullshit going on and nobody knows if the data was ever given to anyone else.

4chan /gif/ releases: I've been falling behind on this. It's now almost 7 months later compared to the latest release of 2025-07. I currently have more than half a year of /gif/ but have not shared it. My excuses:
- I don't have tons of storage space (zpool is filled up).
- I don't make money from this.
To have fewer excuses, I will
- DELETE this torrent: >>1387082. Pretty sure I have all of it at /ipfs/bafybeiblfbps754ng4rks6khs4sgurlohf4lqbpugqktemupgh2u27y6aa in a ZFS mirror pool. After 7 days of inactivity I will delete my torrent version of that 501-GiB porn folder. Currently on 1 and 1/2 days for "Last Activity".
- Comment that you can send crypto to https://etherscan.io/address/ipfs3.eth (resolves to Ethereum address 0x63Df01B3150fA1815f9bfDC21152dCEB5 c455169)
Since this is a torrent board and this post has no torrent link, here's one:
