The opposite extrame is Triton, which frontloads the hardship and high death rate mostly during the bootcamp training and shitty social darwainistic civilian life (rebellions and AI going rogue) but if you manage to survive that (unlikely) you get to be a indoctrinated supersoldier that needs to love AI and hate xenos and furries.

Vostok Dynamic is the compromise option, you'll get alot of money, you get a loyal robot/android waifu that won't go rogue but may have PTSD and you get to pilot a cool mechsuit with a high chance of being lobotomised for incompetency. Even the drawback from the retirement package is neligible, you are given a invitation or CHOICE to retire to one of their rich upper sections of their megacorp planet with the tradeoff of experiancing severe post soviet depression and trauma. But you can decline that option, retain your free agency and continue to be a celebrity star pilot.

Vostok Dynamics has the best compromise and offers the highest level of free agency so I'll go with them.

How advanced/developed do you think the world of Isekai Bounty Hunter is? I was planning a build strategy for it . . and the world itself is likely to be the biggest adversary. Limited food supplies, slow/limited transportation, trapped for months in one town by winter every year, having to deal constantly with petty (minor) kings and ambitious nobles . . . Even if you take options like (Prepaid) Wealth and Advanced Modern Equipment, its not like you're going to be able to order pizza and zip from target to target.

(So you brought a plane? Where are you going to land it in a medieval fantasy world?)

I'd say the basics are medieval but spells and enchanted items elevate it in many areas. Low level stuff is probably accessible to normal people (like healing from local priest in case of emergency or travelling druid casting growth buff to fields), but better stuff is only for the rich, lucky. and specialists.

Really high level people don't seem to be involved with local matters (they'd have stopped many of the targets already if they did). Dunno what they are doing, maybe they're having big dimensional adventures somewhere else.

At least there is a golden build option that mitigates the worst of it, but keeps your home alive. The Tower, Infantophagia, Koma Castle, The Dragon. 80 points, 3 Defects. The suitor for 1 more defect and an artifact. Use your one artifact to buy A Jeweled Goblet and pick up Dependency, Fleshblight, Malignant Paw, and Stomach Parasite.

80 points keeps your homeland alive, keep your possessed hand locked up, use the Jeweled goblet at the start of the day to cure the fleshblight, then drink alcohol constantly to suppress the stomach parasite.

Unless the narrative implication is that any happy ending is folly (I choose not to believe that since there is a golden ending usecase), in which case pick the prophesized one, to get 4 more adventures. Pick up Bear, Magician, Tyrant, and Endless Dream, which grants enough defects to guarantee your death, but you've eliminated every serious threat offered in the CYOA, and you can die knowing you've BTFO'd the greatest threats you had access to and die unknown and unloved. Maybe the next Elf will have a fun adventure. That would be nice.

After the last two days, we've got a bunch of shitposters and troublemakers (presumably) sidelined with short term bans. They'll start slinking back in around Wednesday.

And having one cyoa dominate the thread for weeks at a time isn't healthy. The thread is at its best when there are a couple of cyoas creating discussion, with people jumping in and out. We get a little . . .autistic fanboy-ish, when it's just one.

I don't feel a need to and it's a pain in the ass to format the post, add additional context and plans for something that is less likely to be read or commented on. In multiplayer, anons are more keen to reading other builds because those are people who may very well end up in their own world and have to deal with. So anon is going to read those builds, comment and judge if they are an asset, a hinderance or someone worth conquering which makes it worth putting more effort into posting and discussing with others. This is far more enjoyable than posting my single player build that has no effect on my world, or the worlds of others. Single player builds are for my own self-enjoyment and multiplayer builds are for teamwork and possible competition.
