Prices for lego have gone up tremendously, and a lot of these sets absolutely are not worthy of their price tag.
You will however get dogpiled by the apologist bootlickers that will scream "muh inflation" and "lego was always expensive".

>"lego was always expensive".
And that's 100% true. They have always been expensive. Now they're "join Tyrone and Ray-Ray when they're looting stores" levels of expensive.

I too wish to absolutely demolish a self checkout. Tells you to put the item in the bag. Take it out. Put it back. Doesn’t work! No you can’t pay for your shopping until a clerk comes over to unlock the machine.

Jesus H. Christ, you people.
If this is legit, and not fake rage bait (you) farming, you are - most sincerely - an imbecile and hopeful your siblings aren't - because if they are stupid as you, they shouldn't spawn any further.
There's actual sets cheaper than pic attached but just two of them would set you back $32 plus tax.
And give any decently imaginative boy plenty to play with.

And yeah, this entire thread was probably an excuse for you idiots and imbeciles to post this same fucking picture again.
Don't you all have dolls you can at least jizz on?
Don't you have TikTok videos to watch to teach you how to buy stonks and become rich so you can get off some Mongolian basketweaving site and go hire lady boys in Thailand till your parts fall off from social disease and you die, rich and happy, but thankfully sooner rather than later?

Cant you just buy him a cheap smaller set online? How old is he? Assuming he is still in single digits you might be able to gift him a crappy set and pass it off as cool because kids don't grasp quality.
If he is like tween and knows about lego enough to want a specific set then you're fucked.

- Update -
OP here
Earlier today my brother and I traveled to three different stores, and we both spent almost thousand dollars on Lego.
$964.56
and I even pitched In more cash for a few smaller sets since I thought it would add variety. It hurt my wallet but ultimately It's worth it.
Our dad always cheaped out when it came to buying our childhood so maybe this will make up for that. Quite frankly I'm disappointed because I wont actually be able to build the sets.

I don't think you can really complain about prices when you guys are willing to casually drop $1000 for a kid's birthday. There's a glut of $10-$20 sets out there, especially with some of the stuff that just dropped.

At this point you'd be better off introducing him to star wars model kits, they're way cheaper and for that price you could build a whole army.

>Complain about price of Lego
>Drop $1000 on that for a kid's birthday
I'm with you on not cheaping out on stuff that could make a kid happy but come the fuck on the 3 in 1 castle for example is a fantastic decent size Lego set for just like $120, get two of those and you have a good amount of Lego for the kid to play with. Fuck I don't spend $1000 on myself for Lego, it's nice that kid gets nice presents but don't blow your wad in one go.
Stuff like Lego is better and more thrilling when you can slowly collect sets over time as opposed to "omg I have a hueg collection now"

You’re gonna create unrealistic expectations for this kid when it comes to presents, geez. And if he ever finds out how much you spent and grows up to be an asshole, I can only imagine the conversation
>you spent $1000 on legos, why can’t I have the Playstation 17?

Even with recent price hikes, Lego is cheaper per piece and per pound than it was 30 years ago.
Whether these recent price hikes are justifiable (or just plain and simple corporate greed) is another question, but you need to accept that Lego prices have been trending downwards for decades.
