The next Yggdrasis girl?! The next image of the Megami Device game!? Do you think a game could be made? How would it work? Would it be gacha? Nftslop? An MMO? Would it be good? Would it replace Battle Conductor in your heart?
Arcanadea has an in universe game too... would you play it?
Damn does Ripper look like Belveria from that angle...

Grab Yuki Tu to go with her, if you haven't already. Lang and Xiao are decent, too, particularly their repaints, though they're on the M body.
Also, we've got these two coming up for the S body, so they may tickle your fancy when they finally release.

Hi, coming from the Gunpla thread and have a question, was told to come here:
I'm interested in getting the Nuke Matrix Cyclone Hopper figure when it releases in February, but according to the reviews she doesn't come with any underwear, which is kind of lewd given that her pre-transformation clothing is a miniskirt. Where does one obtain clothing for 1/12 scale dolls while not paying a fortune? Even going on Ali Express, it's either super expensive or I have to pay more for the shipping than for the clothes themselves.

>>
>>11675041
>while not paying a fortune
That's the fun part, you don't! Scale clothing fit for girlpla proportions is always stupidly expensive for what you actually get due to how niche it is and the fact that you basically can't get it anywhere that doesn't require a proxy, have import duty charges, or have expensive shipping. You either fork over the cash, or make it yourself. Literally no other options. That's how a lot of the stuff in the western girlpla hobby corner of the world goes since it's so fuckin' niche outside of Japan.
>>
>>11675184
An old copy of that part of the op got mixed in by mistake when I updated it last thread, I fucked up the 30ms section too. Thanks for the heads up.
It's what I get for copy and pasting shit in a Gmail draft...

Well, my mom used to work in sweatshops in SEA as a child, and has a sewing machine to keep up since it's her hobby now, so in theory I could learn to make the doll clothes myself. I'm also planning a vacation to Hong Kong within the next few months so it's possible that I'll be able to find that shit at the source. But really, I might just bite the bullet on the costs.

Why is white Aika more expensive than white Aika? I might finally pull the trigger on getting here and I like the black more than the white
>>
>>11675041
well, speaking from experience (and money wasted) is quite hard to make clothes small enough for 1/12 figs than for a 1/6 doll, so I can kinda understand the prices being that comparable to armed robbery. I've bitten the bullet quite a few times to make my girls more pleasant to the common eye (aka, my family won't give me weird looks for having a bunch of girlpla in underwear)
if you need underwear for your girl, your only choice as >>11675238 said is to either bite the bullet or make it yourself
another option is to find underwear transfer decals that fit the model (but most of them are made for MD/FAG).

If you can find one, the Forest's Summer Fantasy Girls Vivienne Hayha kit has two sets of bikini parts (blue and pink), which I assume might fit, since it's also Nuke Matrix.
(And since you get two, you're not just leaving that kit naked instead.)

>>11675585
Yeah, I might do a bit more looking around to see if I can get lucky. Maybe if I get all the clothing pieces from a single Ali vendor, that will tamp down on the shipping charges. I'm not going to buy in bulk since this is going to be the only girlpla I have in that size, but I am willing to buy multiple articles of clothing.

Why is it that you could get enticed so hard by Grande Scale if you aren't the type to like the Puni-Mofu stuff? Sure, people love the Puni-Mofu releases, but it's not everyone's cup of tea anyway. Take the Grande Ao for example: she's that figure everyone wants to place in their bed instead of a shelf.

Wait, did Koto seriously make this gal's top cast-off? That vest she's wearing looks like a single, rubber piece rather than something partsbuilt, judging from all of the other images, and the angle of this shot in particular shows she's got whole, flesh-colored tits under there that look similar to the new Chassis nude breasts...

On one hand, I think the Megalomaria base body has run its course and is in need of some basic tune ups. On the other hand, I don’t know if adding toe joints to heels was something I wanted, personally. I’m hoping the other new female body makes some improvements to the legs.

>>11677191
I sort of agree, they should have made at least three different body styles for principal in different styles, like a round, sleek, and sharp style body, with the one we got being the sleek version. Even if they were all the same height it would open up customization a lot.

>>
>>11679961
The promo photos are done by professionals that are comfortable with doing the masking work that this would need. It wouldn't even be that hard, you'd just have to cut strips of masking small enough to cover the skin tone areas without wrinkling, or just use masking fluid. If that image is your handiwork, then just get a wooden toothpick and scratch off the excess black paint till your satisfied with the cleanliness of the work.

This won't work on abs will it? Is there something else people use besides the tamiya abs cement which is hard to find in the US? I'm trying to get various supplies and it's so gay how hard to find everything is and there is no single store that has everything I need
>>
>>
>>
>>11680075
Both versions of Plastruct plastic weld will work on ABS. Just note that the black+orange label version has a clear plastic mixed in that acts as an emulsifier to bond different plastics together, so if you wanted to do PS+ABS, you'd use the black+orange one. If you're not doing that then the white+orange label works fine too, its just the normal cement with no extra additives.
>>
>>11680075
Kind of, but like regular cement it only works so well. You want either plastruct Bondene or Mr. Cement SP. SP (or SP-B) are the best hobby cements on the market because they mix in MEK (methyl ethyl ketone) into the (typically) mostly just pure acetone mix that makes up most cements out there. It makes the mixture more toxic (please don't huff the fumes), but it works INFINITELY better. I strongly recommend getting some. Or, better yet, just make your own. Go to your local hardware store, pick up a bottle of acetone and MEK for 20 bucks, and enjoy your cement that'll last you till the day you die rather than buying the overpriced pre-jarred stuff. This also works out particularly well for making sprue goo since you'd no longer have to worry about using up your cement in the process.

The skateboard Sister appeared in yet another one of my local shops, which definitely means they essentially skipped Sestieh in my country. Bummer.
I have Rydira at virtual warehouse at certain Ireland shop but since I will ship it's contents next December, now I wonder - does this make any sense to buy her twice? Like, for the purpose of making custom? Or she is not the well engineered Sister?

I genuinely think Europe got like 5 of them in total because I saw her listed in several places here and neiher never actually got her in or if they did it was like 1. meanwhile we get idol master kits which well, doesn't sell that well, I'm kinda grabbing a few partly to support my local stores and partly just to get rid of them out of stock so they can order more

I am also at this stage. I've got three sets of shelves full of unbuilt kits in my hobby room and have resorted to stashing kits randomly around the house in closets so I couldn't actually say with certainty where every kit I own is right now. And there's a couple of kits I'm not sure if I own or not. I'm trying to do better though and I stopped automatically ordering every new release since I'll never be able to keep up at this stage.
>>11681103
In early FAG days I ordered a bunch of extra architects and 1.0 gourais intending to use them as bases for customs but then plamo girls blew up and the number of releases went up so high I never actually got around to doing said customs and if I'm honest with myself I probably never will. I kind of did similar with the first couple SST girls where I bought doubles because I didn't know how far they were going to expand the line.
>>
>>11681563
>I stopped automatically ordering every new release
I need to do this. Actually, I kinda slowed down already, but there's e.g. a Desire Maiden Raider coming that I'm probably not gonna build first thing when it arrives.
POs, and paying for air shipping especially, feel asinine considering my backlog. But on the other hand, I regret not getting Sestieh or Shuremi, so the FOMO is still kind of there. ABB and all.
>>
>>11681563
>I'll never be able to keep up at this stage.
I've heard it called 'STABLE' = STash Acquired Beyond Life Expectancy. I'm getting more likely to skip new releases now too just because more comes out in a year than I can build in a year.

I fucking hate model kits so much.
>try to sand nubs
everything in surrounding area gets destroyed while nub remains
>use plastic cement to remove seamlines
seamlines are still there
>apply water slide decals perfectly with setters and shit
check a little later and the decals are destroyed
>spray parts with top coat after painting
paint still rubs off
I know it's skill issue but I wanted to go all out on this anorexic qt and I tried so hard and nothing worked out. I don't even want to finish her anymore because it's going to be shit either way. I want to cry. I should have stuck to complete figures. I wasted like $60 bucks getting all the supplies I would need and also have more kits on preorder because I thought this would be fun. But I don't think I want to do this anymore...
Also I really wish this was a complete Snail Shell or something because I love her design and accessories but as a figure you have to builld she kind of sucks imo because some parts are fragile or too tight or too loose or are badly designed making her overall just not fun to play with. She could at the least just look good but I'm not skilled enough to do that clearly.
>>
>>

>>11681469
Lady Commander Alice, basically the assist robot of the main team of the show (Alpha Tango). And by the way, it's a live-action drama where girls kill each other with model kit guns. I watched the entire show, and it's as bizarre as one could imagine.
Now if there is a cross-promotion set for Girl Gun Lady, what if we get a cross-promotion set for Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers, where you can get almost any female character (via the 30MS line) to wear the armors from that show? They could also make it work with the classic armors (it's bound to happen, but we need confirmation at some point, even if it won't be next month) as well as some of the 30MF armor sets that don't seem to fit certain 30MS kits.
>>
>>11681674
I can probably make her look good enough for photos and stuff but i guess my problem is I wanted a cool figure to pose and am personally not really satisfied by the quality/design of the kit as well as my own work on her.
But whatever after sleeping on it I decided to stop being a pussy and will try to work on her some more later. But I’ll probably just end up putting her in one pose and never touching her again.
>>11681675
But I feel like for curved surfaces you will need some kind of sanding tool no? I'm guessing I just used the wrong grits. The annoying thing I found was all advice on nubs on the internet is "just sand it bro". People don't tell you what specifically to use and when to use it or tell you to get every possible grit of sandpaper that exists which I did not feel like doing.
>>
>>11682107
Here's a nifty guide someone once shown me in here.
https://note.com/jin_gunpla_howto/n/nec3bada8b027
You can substitute those fancy sanding sticks with fine modelling sandpaper and some foam double sided tape.
I've also found nail polishing files to be working wonderfully in nub removal.
>>
>>11681666
My recommendation
>>try to sand nubs
>everything in surrounding area gets destroyed while nub remains
Cut/shave. Don't sand unless you are painting or be minimal flat/gloss coat.
Even simple sanding can "destroy" the general surface area surrounding the nub. It can be extremely noticeable when light hits from a certain angle between the unsanded/sanded section. (Though you can solved this by smooth sanding the whole kit or being really careful with your sanding- way too much hassle for both cases)
>>use plastic cement to remove seamlines
>seamlines are still there
Don't cement- unless you are fully painting the kit.
Fused/cemented seamlines get yellow really quickly. Hobby japan did a test about this, the kit was worked on with only cement for fusing the seamlines. While the seamlines are gone and not noticeable at first but It started to yellow along the seamline like after 6 months. So unless you will be covering the lines with paint- don't bother with this. And if you are, you need to use primer/putty to cover the gaps and more sanding to make sure the paint don't "sink"
>>apply water slide decals perfectly with setters and shit
>check a little later and the decals are destroyed
Use the setter but don't let it "pool".
Depend on the brand, some setters are not clear liquid and when they dry it leaves dry marks.
Apply the setter, set the decal down strong and get a wet towel to wipe the extra off. Don't wait.
If you are using softer- same thing. apply it, wait 5 to 10 seconds, wipe it off with the wet towel and wait. Do this around 3 times.
And to ensure the decals really stick, apply gloss coat on the kit first.

>>11681666
>>spray parts with top coat after painting
>paint still rubs off
Pre/semi-built and see if any area would get in the way and sand/cut that down. Get lacquer based coat. water based acrylic are not strong enough if you are to handle your kit. lacquer is able to handle minor scratches without the whole thing flaking off. Of course, it will get damaged even with lacquer if the paint keep get into contact with sharp things so do be careful.
>Get lacquer based coat
Trust me on this. I did tests few years ago. Mr. Super Clear? even though they said it is lacquer, it is no where near as strong as other lacquer brands. Don't bother with the water based on either.

I feel like a lot of the reddit advice I looked at was for gunpla and not girlpla... seems kind of hard to find girlpla tutorials on american internet
I appreciate the tips anons but I wish this stuff wasn't so complicated. There are so many different materials needed to get the best results and so many techniques to learn. It is a little stressful and I feel like I've had more fun when just building the basic kits and ignoring the flaws. For the next one I might just do a straight build and not bother with the rest. Don't really feel like wasting money on practice kits for characters I don't even want
>>

>For the next one I might just do a straight build and not bother with the rest.
Be sure to look at reviews and other places where you could see a "raw" out of the box build.
Arsia is probably one of those kits that needs a lot of paint touch ups.
Koto kits are a mixed bag in terms of details needing to be pained on by you and coming pre-painted.
Bandai kits feel too simple at times, but they've stepped up their design game recently.
Check out FAG Baihu, she's usually cheap, has nice accessories and has a lot of detail to be accented with panel liner alone.

>But I feel like for curved surfaces you will need some kind of sanding tool no?
Depends on your skill.
It's super easy to remove nubs with 3peaks if the curved surface is like a cylinder shape like legs or arms because you can just put the nipper right onto the surface and use the surface to stop the nipper from digging lower.
If it's a sphere shape like wrist joints, it's pretty much like sanding but you're using the nipper to carve the nub out instead of sanding which allows you to pinpoint the nub and this does require some skill.
3peaks has a different blade design compared to other nippers.
The cutting blade is flush with the supporting blade while other single blade nippers have the cutting blade higher than the support blade which is why you have nubs left over if you cut with other nippers.
The flush blade not only let's you cut down to the root, but it also let's you sort of carve the surface as well if you need to.

>People don't tell you what specifically to use and when to use it
Sanding is incredibly easy. First, get yourself some decent sanding sponges in the typical 180-2000 grit range. DSPIAE sells really nice sets for a good price that come with quite a few sponges. Highly recommend them. As for what to use and when- if you've got nubs that are super long, or nubs/plastic in general that's really wide you can start with 180-280 to grind all that extra plastic into nothing. If there's only a tiny smidge to get rid of, then you can start with 400-600. After all that, work your way up the grits till you're satisfied with the finish. Anything past 2000 is purely for polishing, which you only need to do for very specific kinds of looks or paint jobs.
You only need other types of sanding tools (metal files, thin sand sticks, etc) for very specific types of sanding- usually small itty bitty spaces you can't fit into otherwise. So those aside, the sanding sponges above will be all you need for 99% of your work.

Mao is, quite literally, the most popular girlpla kit to date. The frenzy around Asra Archer over the years is a like a drop in the bucket compared to the money Mao moves. Lovely design benefits aside, it's because 2S bodies are the first easily accessible proper loli bodies the hobby has had access to. Loli customization is one of the most popular form of girlpla and figure customization out there, so people go fucking bonkers when they get access to one. Doubly so when what you get is really fuckin' good too. In other words, loli sells. REALLY well. No amount of retards screeching online can ever change that.

Lacquer and enamel thinner will crack abs if you let them pool in one spot over time.
If you are spray painting, you should be fine. It is more of the using enamel thinner in the panel liner and removal that you need to worry about.
The thinner sometimes get into place you don't expect and breaks the plastic from the inside.

So, kotobukiya sells their exclusives to multiple US and European stores, any tarrifs will be applied before purchase if you buy from one of those. If you somehow purchase from jp kotoshop you may end up having the shipping service contact you to pay for shipping.
I have found that bbts is actually fairly reasonable for the exclusives, any price difference would have been nuked by the shipping+tariff you would get front importing yourself. That isn't as viable on some mass release stuff though since bbts loves overcharging for imports.

NTA, but Soffiera's more of a Manticore, hence the scorpion tail, weird wings, and more conservative outfit. Velretta's the succubus, even though she's flat as a washboard - she has the traditional succubus wings in armored up mode (though she goes full Archdemon and gets six of them), a normal demon tail, and is barely wearing anything that would constitute as clothing.

>loli is just another word for anime girl
It specifically refers to a body type - a smaller girl with a "younger" look to them, meaning petite build and childlike proportions. Whether the character in question is actually a child or not doesn't matter, they just have to look the part.
Not to be confused with "shortstack", which is literally a girl with dwarfism, having a fat ass and "stacked" tits despite being extremely short.

Does anyone have any recommendations for clear, small, low footprint, low profile stands? I want to get some simple vertical stands that take up very little room and are clear so they don't stand out.
The stand that comes with MD Xiao is a decent example of what I want. It's clear, the base is thin and has a small footprint. The bases that came on the original FAGs are also close. They're thin, small footprint, vertical so they don't take up extra room with a bending arm, but aren't clear. Basically what I want is a bunch of cheap, simple stands like this one on Stylet (but clear) that just help stabilise them in a standing position and don't stick out much.
What I don't want are stands with large thick bases, coloured/patterned bases (like the SST stands) or bending arms that take up a lot of space (like the arms on figma stands do). I have a bunch of GSC simple stands, which are good for other figures, but have too large a footprint for more slender female figures so I want something smaller.
>>
>>11687682
>What I don't want are stands
Sadly, what you basically described not wanting is every single commercial model/figure base ever made. Simple Stands and Koto's Flying Bases are the basic recommendations every gives for a reason. Pretty much the only good ones you'll find outside of even larger ones for larger kits (Action Bases for example). Last I checked there's nothing like Xiao's base that you can actually buy out there just on its own. The closest you could probably get are straight up doll bases which typically have small circular bases and a perfectly straight stand arm with a basic clip/peg on it. No idea of any brand names for those though, so you'd have to go searching for them.

I forgot I have some of those too since I used them for nendos and not larger figs. I'd say they're very close and can work in some cases since they're at the absolute limit to get the claw around the waist of a 1/10. If they had a single optional piece that added like 1-1.5cm more length they'd probably hit the spot.

I enjoyed it. The interactions between the girls are fun given their very different personalities and the protag is a definite upgrade over the shinki show. The movie is mostly a recap but with some great original scenes added. It's 12 episodes and one movie so it's not a huge investment of your time and well worth it. The series is also available on Blu-ray in North America anyway if you like having a physical copy.

They already took measures when they had problems with tariffs so if there was any issue they would do it again, besides I'm not in america so i don't have to worry about that. There must be something else going on.

HLJ? They're just being slow as death like they've been for months now. They actually took payment for two of my January items this morning. Only three more (that have all released already) to go. Including miss thunder thighs here. And a shipment I paid for shipping 8 business days ago to actually get out the door. Maybe someday they will not suck again. Too late to hold on to my business, but someday.

That usually means they're about to send out payment requests, aye. I wouldn't be surprised if they just got a late shipment in or something because even during the holidsy (and pre-holiday November stretch) they got all my new shit in right away and immediately sent out payment requests.

So, uh, how are Hasegawa's kits? Seems like they mostly make static kits and I actually confused them for Aoshima for a moment.

Not likely, although this one is popular enough with nips to be at the head of the line for a re-issue.

Their Virtual On kits, like this one, are SUPER mediocre and only worth it if you get them for dirt cheap. Some of their other kits are fine. Definitely not that line though. I built a few last year, and even though I got them for a steal I still regretted wasting my time.

Got Altines recently and I'm loving her, but I can't help wanting a "spare" body to act as a sort of mannequin to keep her armor parts on display. Sadly, I'm a newb when it comes to blank bodies - are both of these compatible with her parts, or would it be better to get the MMS 3rd Small version for a better match with her bodytype?

>Strarf is fun overall. Got some nice Shinki-esque details while having the nice MD articulation. Lots of fun accessories and bits and bobs.
Awesome, saw her design in a video the other day and loved it, apparently it's some old PSP arena fighter game and she had a revamped model kit a few years ago, that's all I know about the IP
>Not sure about the blonde though. No idea what that is.
Plamatea Muse Body Ichika, checked it out and she has decent articulation for very cheap so I adder her to the cart, worst case scenario I get to build a girl in underwear so why not

>Mikuslop
Even though I love Miku, I'm honestly baffled as to why all these figurine/plamo companies (except for that one that did Kiritan, Zundamon and I think Zunko not too long ago) keep doing Miku instead of, oh I don't know, the dozens of characters in the Vocaloid/Voiceroid catalog. Give me a Maki girlpla already. I get that Miku sells, but it's still slightly disappointing how for example even Rin barely has any articulated non-BJD figs besides the Nendoroid, outdated figma and some random mecha musume collab thing.

>What's the difference between them, anyways?
MMS 1st bodies have a different chest piece that's not compatible with MMS3rd - the boobs on the 1st are a plate that detached from the front (and had a nasty habit of breaking the pegs that held it on in the process), while the two 3rd bodies have boobs that require you to pop the head off and slide them on from over the top; this ensured there were no pegs to break, since they were worn like a vest, and had the added benefit of hiding some of the back screws.
Another difference is with the limbs - on the 1st body, the arms and legs did not fully attach, leaving a(n intentional) gap that required you to use the included spacers to fill. On the 3rd bodies, the limbs worked similar to the Puni Mofu/Block 2 Megami Devices, where you still have spacers (used for the armor to attach), but the limbs can still be attached with no gaps should you choose not to use them.
Yet another difference is the range of motion, particularly in the knees - MMS 1st bodies couldn't do a full kneeling pose, as the shins hit the thighs at a certain point. The 3rd bodies have a little groove on the backs of their thighs that allow the legs to fold all the way up until the heels touch the ass; the joints tended to also be a lot stiffer on the 1st bodies, and they lacked a set of "gripping" hands (only having pointing/trigger finger hands to hold things).
Lastly, there's the sizes; MMS 1st bodies were all one uniform size, while the 3rd bodies came in two flavors: Tall and Small. Tall was roughly the size of the previous 1st bodies, while Small was the "loli" body and was much shorter.
I'd take pics to show you the differences, but right now all of my gals are still in storage, where I currently can't get at them; still, I hope this helps.

Thanks a bunch! This helps a lot indeed. I only got a vague gist based off prior info online, so stuff like the differences in posabilty and the aforementioned Altines thigh armor thing are really good to know for future reference, too (I'm like 20 years late to the party, but I'll take any info I can get; so much of it seems weirdly under-documented). Cheers!

They did that too me the last order I shipped, and they've just done it to me again. Two weeks today and no movement. I guess they just don't like me, other Anons are getting stuff moving in like 3-4 days.

Yeah, it seems super hit or miss once Japan's shipping situation went to shit. I had a small Amiami order that took a smidge over two months to ship out, but it only took about 6 days to get to me (ECMS). Most of the time HLJ ships out my stuff right away, but my last order with them took two weeks. It's so fucking random. Seems that way anyways.

>I had a small Amiami order that took a smidge over two months to ship out
I've had an Ami order just shipped to me.
I was invoiced at the start of the month, but they claimed to have found some damage on my items (didn't say which item) during, which what I assume was, packaging process.
This order has been delayed for a while now because I was waiting for my Starflower Lily replacement.
I thought that the replacement one they got also arrived broken, but I didn't inquire. I'm not in a hurry thankfully.

they don't care, sales means more money, and if you want your money back you have to deal with customer service and if you chargeback you get banned, hell you'll probably get banned just asking for a refund for taking too long

Although they did fill a random backorder from December fucking 2024 that I'd given up on and grabbed somewhere else. Sigh. I guess there's no harm in having an extra one.
