I think they could go for a bit less humanoid designs- they’ve dabbled in mech-type structures before, but they could commit more to that. Maybe animalistic designs, too, though there’s been several of those. Maybe it’s just a new type of joint construction, as Maxion has a pretty standardized structure and the other two share the same joint scheme? Or it could be aesthetic- Alto faction is more industrial, Porta faction is spherical, and Maxion is thin/sleek. I know asymmetry is a good business practice and not consumer friendly (having to buy two of a set), but that hasn’t stopped 30MF…

I still can't bring myself to PO it. I don't really need the booster since I have AMTS Endymion. The container I can't tell whether it's Sky Carrier's brown/green or Aggress' brown or another new shade. Only interesting part is the orbital vehicle 2 but it doesn't seem like the usual navy blue.

This DESU. I really like the NASA-punk white and orange, and it's always great to get more space stuff. But that truck feels like a missmatched mess all by itself. And really, I would prefer if they either kept all the cargo boxes to be the same color, or they make these alt colors more common. Just having one that's a randomly different color bothers muh autism. Definitely going to pass on the preorder. I might grab one later, but for the money, I think I would prefer to just get an extra Endemion to use for modular parts

It's not just tiny guys. I remember my very first modular robot. It was that 15ish USD Wing Gundamn kit they released back when it was airing on Toonami. And pretty much the only reason I got that was because I liked the anime, and Wing Gundam was a transformer, with a jet mode. Those kits came with 5-6ish cm figurines of the pilots, to display next to their machines, and I think I ended up just throwing away ever pilot mini I got. The thing that makes the little dudes cool is the ability for the to interact with the machines like a play set

It's more to do with how 30MM is still plamo at the end of the day, so they have to use a weaker but paintable blend of PS. Tougher plastics are tough because they are denser, but being denser also means their surfaces are less porous, less pores for paint to stick to. It's just the way things are.

Everything else that are advertised as toys/figures use tougher plastics be it ABS, POM or Nylon. This includes kits with prebuilt frames like Frame Arms and Beastdrive. Some kits that are not meant to be painted like Animagear and Mugenbine candy toys also use ABS (but are sticker fests instead)

I don’t know if anyone else cares about this, but I just found out Kotobukiya is making an official kit of the Icoma Tatamel bike and I’m extremely hyped. I’ve been tempted to buy one of the blind box kits from SO-TA, but now I’ll wait since Koto’s will be higher quality. They even added a third mode that doesn’t exist on the real bike, some kind of robo-chocobo.

Technically modular, because I expect you’ll be able to swap panels around between multiple versions to make custom configurations.

For some reason, one of the online stores in my country is selling the BB-53 (flamingo), and it's cheaper than on AliExpress. Is 52Toys getting official EU distribution?
