Post forgotten star wars video games from lego.com

>>
I have fond memories of playing this game as a kid. Christmas had either passed or was nearing. I had the santa Jango fig and things were good.
>>
>>11676291
OP game was definately my favourite on the lego website. I've recently revisited it and now it isn't engaging enough. I recall there being more to it. Don't meet your childhood memories, I guess.
>>
Of course I had to make a shitty ugly stand for my coffin fighter first.
By absolute mere chance did I also already have this mini X-Wing so now I can truly perfectly replicate the scene.
>>
The original Boba and Jango helmets were so good looking. The only problem was the helmet was attached to the jetpack. I wish a third party manufacturer would make two independent pieces.
>>
>>11676569
I want third party companies to resurrect some new pieces in the two old gray colors
>>
>>11676570
That would be awesome anon.
>>
Are there any good recent sets that can evoke the childhood nostalgia of like 2007-2011 era of lego star wars? I was thinking maybe the AT-AP or fighter tank with Aayla
>>
I want Geonosis sets and I want them now
>set 1 arena observation booth for Dooku and company
>set 2 anakin, kenobi, Padme vs their monsters
>set 3 audience ambush with Geonosian stands and Jedi ambushing them
>set 4 geonosian chariots and airship
>set 5 Yoda and Phase 1 clone gunship
>set 6 techno union ship
>set 7 SPHAT and command post
>set 8 Dooku vs Obi-Wan, Anakin
>set 9 droid factory
And bring back sand red droids
>>
>>11676569
I only recently discovered this. I'm indifferent on the topic, thoughever.

>>11676852
>tfw last AT-AP came out 7 years ago
Honestly, I think picrel is quite good. Anything with clone was ahsoka reminds me of the good old days. The ship is a good build as well.

>>11677290
>set 1
We'll never get another poggle minfiig. This set willl sadly never happen.
>set 2
I honestly wouldn't mind a series of three sets that connect in a way. Each character vs their own monster with maybe one of the sets having a side build of your idea for set 1 and the other two doing the stands and the chariot
>set 3
see set 2
>set 4
see set 4
>set 5
Yes
>set 6
They would do a terrible job were it a playset. I think they could have done a good job with it back in the late 2000s but now I can only see a good midi scale build happening. I don't expect it but I would wholeheartedly welcome it.
>set 7
Either or. This will never be a single set. But standalone sets of the command post and SPHAT are possible, with the latter being less likely.
>set 8
I hope so, yes.
>set 9
Sadly..... this will never come into existence.

>sand red droids
Aye, I wish that too, Lad.
>>
Thoughts?

I remember being surprised at the 2019 AT-AP even coming out. Seems very similar. Not that I'm complaining.
>>
>>11678303
wookiee warrior with musket is more sovl than chewbacca. but the jungle battle droids make up for it
>>
>>11676291
I was at ARGOs the other day and saw the MTT. Is it any good, I've been out of the loop for a while but always wanted some. Any comments?
>>
>>11678311
It's very small. The AT-TE and Coruscant gunship dwarf it. Otherwise it has that playfeature all the goytubers were cooming on but that gets old real quick unless you're a kid. The build itself is really nice, but the scale is atrocious. If you can get it for 100 eurodollars or less, yeah, go for it.
>>
>>11678310
I'd rather have a b1 commander. You don't see those often.

also
>jungle battle droids
THEY ARE AAT DRIVER BATTLE DROIDS, YOU NEVER SEE THEM ON FOOT
>>
>>11678303
I'm not a fan of the giant visible spring-loaded shooter at the top.
>>
>>11678318
yeah, had a look at jewtube and ill just wait till I see it on sale, and still might pass it. Thanks
>>
>>11678445
Generally they're not even so bad if you don't put the giant neon green missile in them.
>>
>>11678445
this >>11678447

>>11678446
If that money isn't going towards an older MTT or any retired set you'd like to have, go ahead and buy it. It's still cool.
>>
I've been out of it for a very long time and I don't have a single stormtrooper to my name.
What's a good iteration in your opinion? I don't plan to army-build but I at least want to grab a dozen or so.
>>
>>11678466
Picrel is the best modern stormtrooper but you could also get what you had as a kid. Hard to go wrong with that.
>>
>>11678466
My personal favourite stormtrooper minifigure is picrel. Remove the jumppack and you have a weathered front-line trooper.
>>
I want to have a total of three coruscant guard gunships. I currently have one. Do you think this will prove to be a fruitful endeavour?

>to keep in le goybox??
NO, to build as intended.

Keeping toys sealed to retain value is retarded and actual reddit behaviour. Back to r/toycollecting or whatever the fuck it's called, newfag
>>
>>11678523
If you talk like some faggot redditor I WILL call you a faggot redditor.
And ofc your retort is literally just "no u" and "newfag" like literally every single reddit refugee that posts here.
>>
>>11678537
When do redditors use shit like "goy"? You are actually retarded and keep toys in their boxes and away from all natural light with only the blue light coming from your monitor that you use to coom to coomertoys as the sole thing that gives them shape in the darkness that is your mothers basement. Apart from that I imagine you're a pretty decent guy.
>>
>brickset always listed the original AAT at around 100 bucks new
>there's actually only been 1 singular new/unopened one for months that's 200+
>everywhere else I look it's even higher
I never worried about this because I trusted brickset, fucking lying sacks of shit.
>>
>>11678546
Who the fuck uses brickset. Use brincklink and facebook marketplace/ whatever other selling platform your country has.
>>
>>11678548
>Who the fuck uses brickset
Eh? It's pretty decent to see information on sets like released dates, retail prices, and such. As well as setting up a wishlist.
>>
>>11678550
>release dates
>retail prices
Yea, but they suck for aftermarket prices.
>>
>>11678303
I don’t like these vehicles even before they are lego-ified. The legs are too far back
>>
>>11678466
I like the latest ones but I don't like thet the helmets can't rotate. If you can find some from like 4 or 5 years ago I think those rotate.
>>
>>11678550
Yeah I use Brickset for really quick MSRP checks and release dates. Plus they also have that page with current Amazon discounts.
>>
>bad batch exists simply to shit on republic commandos and cuck Scorch
>we never get a real republic commando minifigure
Literally the worst possible outcome.
>inb4 third party manufacturer
I wish I liked them. They’re too overdesigned.
>>
Are there any good custom aaylas? The old sexy one has cracking issues and the new one is ugly. They're both over priced anyways might as well go custom.
>>
>>11678476
Great recommendation. I’m surprised there aren’t more battle damaged stormtroopers. Not the weird ones from Ahsoka that no one likes but the ones from the Mandalorian that are just normal remnants

weird how toy companies refuse to do justice to one of the best designs in star wars. both hasbro and hot toys just made inaccurate repaints of bad batch hunter.

>overdesigned
an official lego one now probably would be too. the customs people would make back in the day by sanding down the fin on the old clone helmet were cool. that plus some simple brick built backpacks and blasters and no leg or arm printing would have been ideal for me
>>
>>11679193
Yeah it’s shocking
> official lego one now probably would be too
I would have assumed so too but I think their imperial commandos actually look good. If it’s that same style I would be happy

Battlefront sets have great minifigs. The rebels counterpart to this battlepack is probably the best one when it comes to that faction.

unpopular opinion:
the sequel trilogy failed because it tried to feed nostalgia instead of being visually different.
the saving grace of the prequels that it had plenty of new stuff, pod-racers, airspeeders, vulture droids, jedi star fighters etc.

what does the sequel trilogy has?
an X-wing, but off-model
an A-wing, but off-model
an Y-wing, but off-model

and the few new vehichles like the mg-100 heavy bomber, just make no sense for the setting (also its just a big bulby B-wing)
>>
>>11679955
Wrong, wrong.
>>
>>11679712
Okay.
>>
>>11679955
Even if it were visually different, the genre was already saturated at that moment. Even in a non-woke society, I don't see how any star wars sequel could have worked. They should have went back to the old republc.
>>
>>11679955
1. Not really an unpopular opinion
2. You're right but it's not the reason the movies were ass.

Going all in on nostalgia and hoping italone would carry the trilogy was a poor move for aure, but I can definitely see a universe where they used these shitty recycled designs and put them in an actually well written movie.

It failed because Disney thought JJ Abrams was the right guy for the job. Then they got rid of him for a guy that has never made a scifi movie to the scale of Star Wars, and then brought JJ back with clearly a vengeance against Disney. The truth of the matter is that Star Wars didn't need another trilogy, especially with all the comics and books that already fleshed out the post Return of the Jedi world.
>>
>>11680568
It didn't matter who they brought it, because Disney did not even have a plan going into the sequels. They just thought they could put literally anything out and "so long as it wasn't as bad as the prequels" they'd be printing money. They played it safe with TFA, and just tried to make diet ANH. And no plan meant that Rian could just uproot and throw away everything that was set up in the previous movie, and when that crashed and burned they thought they could bring Abrams back, and he had to condense down an entire trilogy into the last movie to re-set things up and then pay them off.

On top of that, Disney was already thinking of new spinoff movies, and other side shows for Disney+ even back then, so it was just heaping as much shit on the plate as they could, nevermind that it was just all overflowing and there was no rhyme or reason to any of it.
>>
>>11680434
Are you the guy that made that clone base with the burning republic fighter tank?

also
>imperial officer dude
this isn't an actual minifig (obviously the head doesn't belong) right? Do you have a story behind who he is?
>>
>>11680576
disney did have a soft 'plan' initially
the were actually going to use the sequel drafts that lucas had left for them and were somewhat regularly consulting him on them
until jj abrams got hired as director, to which he mandated that one of the things to get him on board was to let him write the story for tfa, which resulted in lucas getting pushed out
this is also neither here nor there but abrams is friends with a known fan of rlm, simon pegg, who had commented before on how good the plinkett reviews are, so there is a connection between the two
>>
>>11680590
>>11680576
I'm not even reading your posts. How the fuck are you even having this conversation? Every. Single. Thing. Disney has put and is putting out is hot dookie. There is absolutely no silver lining, no single straw of hope to grasp or excuse to be found. Star Wars is dead and has been for more than a decade. We've all made our own canons and it now lives within us. There is no other point to be made and everytime you hope the next ahsokasloppa season will be good is another coin the mouse's pocket. Will you ever learn?
>>
>>11680593
i've not once defended nuwars, i'm just explaining how they came to be
and star wars was already entering rough waters when tcw started shitting on the established timeline of the cwmmp and butchering characters to fit filoni's vision

>>11680594
>cwmmp

>clone wars has plot holes
let it, the pros outweigh the easily overlookable cons.
>>
>>11680594
trvke
Filoni Wars was Didney Wars before the Mouse was ever allowed to be involved.
>>
>>11680597
clone wars multi media project
genndy wars was the primary piece of that, but a large number of books, comics, and a couple games also detailed the timeline of events, battles, and major characters of the original clone wars
nuwars has made one or two half assed references to it, like jabiim being in kenobi, but iirc they don't once mention the actual battle of it
>>
>>11680602
2003 cw is kino but so is the 3d version along with the movie and everything that came out of it. Toys, merch, cartoon network commercials. It was a great time to be kid, a teen, a star wars fan. It can coexist with the 2d cw. Also it lets you have your pick of grievous either being this cowardly cartoon villain or this jedi killing machine. Both valid picks but I prefer the jedi killer.

Just make up your own canon. It's the only thing you can do, really.
>>
>>11680593
What is the deal with the rise of people who don't bother reading a post, reply to that post, insult that post, and turns out they totally agree with it?

I said Disney wars fucking sucks because they didn't have a plan, and all the shit they put out was garbage because of it. Maybe read a post before acting like a retard and replying.

OT was only good because better, smarter people were willing to challenge Lucas and wrangle him and his dumb ideas, and sort through all his shit to find the actual few good ideas he had.

Meanwhile, its been pointed out that Lucas was so big during the Prequel era that no one wanted to challenge him, and even if they did Lucas just threatened to fire them anyway. And even if we discount all the Clone Wars shows and cartoons, the were such big jumps from one prequel movie to the next that you almost needed a movie between TMP and AotC, and another one between AotC and RotS since so much shit happens off screen between those movies anyway.
>>
>>11680663
>huge jumps between films

2D Clone Wars is fine. The 3D Slow one is not. The 2D cartoon was just there to flesh out the Jedi and Grevious, and it's a shame that they showed Grevious as some sickly loser in the movie. Everything in the 3D clone wars and rebels and bad batch is just completely unecessary. It's like going from Batman and Batman Returns to Robin/Forever. It wasn't necessary but the merchandise was the only goal.

>>11680702
Nice projection, secondary fag.
Your absolute seething is just further proof all you CW faggots were like 5 years old when this shit dropped.
>>
>>11680670
You're the retard if you think the text crawl was good enough. There was an entire war fought between the end of AotC and RotS that we never got to see. And my first comment was in reference to calling the clone wars shows shit, since an entire era is just left up in the air and poorly defined within the confines of the movies.

In the OT, Obi-Wan tells Luke about how Anakin was this great warrior and fighter pilot who, though a tragic turn of events, fell to the dark side. The movies don't to shit reinforce any of that. All they do is make Anakin look like a whiny little emo bitch, and Obi-Wan usually looks like he can hardly stand the fucker. We don't see any of those adventures during the Clone Wars to reinforce him as being a great Jedi and a close friend of Obi-Wan's, we seem him being a wild asshole who probably kills more innocent people on-screen than bad guys.

So yes, there at minimum needed to be a movie between AotC and RotS. Its just that we got cartoons and CGI movies that created a shitload of inconsistencies instead.
>>
>>11680734
Nta but sounds like you got filtered. Some guy at a comic shop said the same shit that you just said, about Anakin being a great pilot and Jedi and that we never get to see it, yet we've been seeing that shit since Episode 1 with Anakin being a little shit baby piloting a fucking 9,000 mile per hour pod racer. Even right there at the beginning of RotS you see Anakin going all out to kill Dooku. The wars that happened between the movies are not important. What's important is the state of the galaxy because of the wars. That's why Andor was good because it showed the state of Empire, meanwhile Rogue One was garbage because its just more on the level of retcon garbage and Filoni slop.

>>
>>11680657
Filoni Wars has some great moments and some truly awful moments. Filoni wars is worth a watch if youre bored, but it’s long. A lot of it runs together and half of it doesn’t need to exist at all. But sometimes you’ll be watching some really exciting stuff and you’ll forgive the last Jar Jar episode. Genndy Wars mogs it hard. Shaak Ti and Grevious are so unbelievably good in it. The Genndy Clones are just perfect. I wish Disney would recruit Genndy to make more Star Wars cartoons.
>>
It’s so weird how Disney has managed to ruin everything that was previously cool about Star Wars. Every character is lame, every time period is overexplored to the point of being mundane, there’s nothing left. No mystery. No cool character. No time period I yearn to know more about. I don’t even want more video games to be made in spite of the fact that I was begging for them for years. It’s shocking how effective they are at destroying my passion for this series. Now it’s just my Legos.
>>
>>11680754

>>11680840
>I don’t even want more video games to be made in spite of the fact that I was begging for them for years.
Based Disney shutting down Lucasarts and thinking the best business decision is to outsource Star Wars games exclusively to EA. But this is just how Disney is. They didn't used to be like this but some time around the 90s they started taking their big theatrical films and trying to milk straight to VHS or television shows. I think the final straw for me was them forcing Pixar to do sequels AND making 3D movies that basically look like Pixar movies but without the soul. Absolutely disgusting behavior and they think this somehow improves the brand and doesn't make people sick and tired of sequel slop.
>They own Muppets

It was a success up through Endgame. Up until then, they had way more hits than misses, but since then, they've only had like a couple hits. And those were threads still hanging around from before Endgame (No Way Home, and GotG3.)

I currently have them all except for the regular TIE, but trying to find one that's not absurdly priced sealed or in good condition seems nigh-impossible.

So I wondered... maybe I could just order the parts separately? But not only that, all of them except the regular TIE use the new dark/light grey, so IF I do end up buying the parts separately, should I get it in new-grey...? Nobody who actually watches star wars bought that set because it's from a non-canon lego show or something.

They didn't feed on nostalgia, but hijacked it, then took the biggest dump on it and set it on fire while blaming the original fandom with their reddit armies.

It’s the only set where you can get the orange (non neon) transparent lightsaber as of right now, for some reason these ones are just magnets for shit like that, same with the trans medium blue one a while back and regular yellow even. Trans Light Purple is generally my fav one for weird energy stuff though on big build guys

It seems most of the "summer" sets are actually 2027 sets...also no smart bricks for the rest of the world
>To clarify about the Star Wars sets: The sets are still coming, nothing has changed. People just assumed they were 2026 sets so lego_minecraft_goat is clarifying most are not

https://www.reddit.com/r/Legoleak/comments/1qjagx8/some_of_the_star_wars_sets_reported_by_brick_tap/

And it seems retailers won't carry advent calendars anymore, so store exclusive.

I absolutely hate how TCW troopers looked

It's good to start on one of those big baseplates.

Tan = Tatooine?
Green = Naboo/Endor?
Blue = dagobah?
White = hoth?

If you have a ship you like maybe make like a refueling/maintenance dock?

Do you want to make battle dioramas/ ships/ other shit or everything?

If you want something like picrel you need a shitload of parts and some sets and figs to populate it. You can make up your own battles of recreate real ones in any scale you'd like. Alternatively, you could make your own X-wings, Z-95s or whatever and also use those in your battle diorama.
>>
>>11687984
I cant believe people actually spend years building shit like this. Taking it all apart just sounds like hell.
>>
>>11688008
It took him less than a year, methinks. He also had friends helping him. Honestly building a huge lego star wars battle with frens sounds like a really fun time. I cannot understand you 'muricans. Bricks and Minifigs, from what I've seen, has the most genuinely offensive prices I've ever come across. That faggot Mandr did a video recently where he attended the opening on a Bricks and Minifigs. He kept saying the prices were alright and they were fucking retarded. IIRC like threefiddy for a fucking b1 battledroid?!?!? In Evropa you can get them for a euro a piece.
>>
>>11688306
Worst part is your displayed prices are before tax, right? So it's even fucking worse. I hate the burger consoomer mindset so much.
>>
>>11688306
>>11688307
I don’t usually go there for the sets, you're right, the prices are ridiculous, every now and then they have something reasonably priced, it’s more for the convenience of getting the set right then and there, and not having to deal with shipping and shady sellers.
My main thing is to go dig through the bulk bin and just get the pieces I need, I’ve found some great printed pieces and old parts that are great,
the lego store pick a brick is ass. They never have anything good, And I’m not gonna wait three months for an online order from that shit website. So B&M is the best option
>>
>>11688483
The entire catch seems to be exactly this:
>we are le lego knower store
>we have le rare lego and you can see it in le person
>in reality this shit isn't even rare since you can go on bricklink and sort by condition, location and buy the first option that comes up
>but no it is le raaare we add a markup because we had to go on bricklink and sort by condition, locaiton and buy the first option that pops up

Cool shit btw.
>>
>>11688590
I got back into it because of wanting to build a TIE Phantom, not finding any that satisfied me, and then going on to try and design it myself. I still have all my old sets, a good number of the star wars ones I have sorted and in bags. Can you not get blinds for the windows? Seems a much easier solution to the problem (I have three large windows as well, with blinds I'm not worried about UV that much.
>>
>>11688602
I still want some natural light when building.

>TIE Phantom
you started building or collecting because of this?
>>
>>11688605
>Building or collecting

Both. I would periodically get a set but stopped really playing with lego in my teens. Now I'm pretty committed to it as my main hobby. I try to get all the non-shit sets whenever they go at least 20% off now, and I keep my eye out for the retired sets I'd still like to have.
>>
>>11688615
Godspeed, fren. I'm happy that you aren't some completionist faggot. Judging by picrel I also imagine you have kids. Very cool getting them into lego.

>TIE phantom
I looked up pics, yours seems spot on. I still don't like it as an imperial vehicle but if they had it in picrel colour scheme and capacity as a jedi shuttle in the clone wars show, I'd probably like it.

I think Bricks and Minifig stores literally just take a glance at eBay listings, and then just add like 5%-10% onto those prices. Not even sold auctions, just literally the inflated prices hopefuls list them for and then they just sit around for years, unsold.

I went into a B&M for the first time back in November, and probably 80% of the stuff they had was over eBay prices. The other 20% was what I would call "fair" but not great prices. I think B&Ms are quite literally overcharging for the "experience" of walking into a store and seeing old, retired Lego sets and other somewhat unusual stuff. It is essentially a Gamestop or pawn shop but for Lego.

That being said, even Lego stores are probably some of the worst places to buy sets, since other retailers generally have sales, deals, and other methods of saving on them from time to time. They even drop the MSRP after awhile. Like, most of the SW Battle packs are $4-$5 cheaper at Target or Walmart than they are at Lego stores.

Also, I am pretty sure MandR is a B&M shill, since they carry his shitty custom minifigures are minifig accessories. I also have a conspiracy theory that that's why he hates on modern SW figures so much, is so that he can convince people to buy his replacement helmets, kamas and weapons and shit.

B&M just has a good selection for odd bricks in the tables or in a few bins, I don’t even get tempted with buying the complete sets, and am rewarded with working pneumatics stuff and some magnets that work well, treating them as basically “somewhat more expensive place to pick up random bricks” and all, fair few better places for that purpose, just further drives from me. And yes 100% official lego stores are the absolute WORST when it comes to piece value, god forbid you try and buy a real set there. But those are my thoughts

Yeah, SW for its first couple of years was pretty inventive with what bizarre bricks it would use, and thats also why the vases in dark gray cost like 50 bucks a piece on the aftermarket, the X Wing is the only non scala/belville set to use this piece for something, which is a bit of a shame. At least the axle connectors are pretty cheap to replace

Kino and comfy at the same time. Is the red power miners crystal supposed to replicate the light flashing? Also why use the AAT driver droids?

Nah I usually get Lego on sale on Amazon or Best Buy/Target. But some Lego sets like the Simpsons Krusty Burger were exclusive. Or I sometimes buy non brick stuff on sale on the site, like the Lego Star Wars book, the minifig head containers. I got the Christmas mug for like $6. Back on the day I used to buy sets from every theme but nowadays I just do one big splurge purchase every May the 4th since Lego Star Wars and City and Classic is really the only stuff I get. Or Animal Crossing and a few of the Lego Mario sets like Captain Toad or Wario.
>>
>>11696816
Sometimes when they're close to retiring sets, they get like 20-30% off, plus 2x points, plus GWPs, and some other promos, you can legit get 40-50% off from even LEGO stores.
