Just posted this, damn.

Nice write up. They did the most with the joints that they could without breaking the sculpt of Nidoking. A lot of Pokemon have that same issue. They way they are designed just doesn't lend itself to putting joints in all areas. So many have super thick and short limbs, armor plates that cross over were joints would naturally go on a figure, etc.

Nice, gona repost your pic so it's easier for others to see. Looks like a good dex size height next to Red.

>it seems like they’re very unwilling to add articulation that would compromise the sculpt, or the continuum of the lines. While a waist or pec crunch/swivel would have definitely added a lot to this mold, it would break the lines of the belly “armor.”
I feel like this is one of those designs that could get away with a cut because of the natural look of armor. Jazwares gave Dragapult and Garchomp a body cut and those didn't have a natural segment like Nidoking does. Of course on something like Charizard it would be too glaring and no company has put a cut there.

I bought that ldcx infernape, quite surprising that you can find them in aliexpress at $10-15 same with keepley while blokees it's rising their prices. I guess that's the price of popularity

No, it's pretty small. Nidoking is short but this looks way too short and non imposing next to Red or other Figmas

I don't recall Jazwares doing anything for the 25th but 2021 might've been that Wicked Cool Toys to Jazwares transition phase and they had nothing ready going into the year. Tomy did the mythical thing for the 20th.

Ugh, I read somewhere Japs don't celenrate 15th, 25th, etc like we do. They celebrate 10th, 20th, 30th, etc. So maybe that had to do with it, 30th will be big.
>>
>>11677600
All they did with the 25th logo was the plush and the 3" figure line that they've kept going on until now with different things like translucent, metallic, etc

Either makeup or special effects. The MC of the trailer is a broken, tired MA man who's tired of the 9 to 5 grind and has no joy in his life. So they needed him to look the part. What I find funny is the guy seemingly has friends and even a female neighbor who really likes him.
>>
Tomy in Japan is re-releasing all of the starter MonColle Figures in special 30th anniversary sets.

The packaging looks pretty nice. Shame Tomy doesn't have the license over here or else we'd probably get them too.

I don't know what Jazwares will do but i hope its something nice. I thought the silver figures for the 25th were kind of a dud and the pearly painted ones have lost all appeal since they do them all the time now for the holiday calendars and evolution multipacks. We definitely need some legendaries but the question is can they get them in market quick enough.
>>
>>11678023
I actually won't be surprised if Jazwares just do something like this but they add Gen 10 starters and paint them in a more shiny paint.
>>
>>11677790
Jazwares really haven't done mythicals have they. There's basically the Mew and it barely gets repacked. It came with the Mewtwo battle feature figure and that was basically it. It would be cool if they finally got around to doing Celebi , Jirachi, Shaymin etc. I like how Jazwares figures float with the clear stand and you can plug like a figma stand into something like a Jirachi

Might get some of the UNIQLO depending on how it looks. Their stuff is usually pretty good. I really like their sweaters and pants. The Adidas stuff also might be good but I haven't really liked their collab stuff in the past so that kinda eh. Hopefully it's not some really ugly yellow and brown Chris Chan shoes. The McDonald's collab will probably just be cards which is whatever at this point. The Lego stuff has looked bad so far.
>lame mini scale set
>Sold out pre order badges
>Ugly Pikachu
>Ugly Blastoise and Charizard
Only good looking Pokémon are Venusaur and Eevee. Not looking good for this collab so far. Hopefully they get some actually sets out at some point. Would be cool if they recreated sections of routes or cities from the games with mini figs for npcs and player characters.
>>
>>11678033
It would be cool if they did premium paint versions of these instead. Would actually have value if they had a cool water color look to them like the old Tomy toys. Could even use metallic paint for highlights.
>>11678023
These are great. I have a few of them. They scale really well with the Figma and figurearts trainers.
>>
>>11678023
Nice
>>
Are jazwares toys good quality? I'd like to start a collection of multiple small pokemon
>>
>>11679872
No, but it's all we got in some cases
>>
>>11679872
Depends which. Most the 2" and 3" are fine. Most the 4" are super crappy and have features that don't even work. The 6" are hit or miss. Some are great and some are really bad. The Epic 12" figs are less articulated and mostly good, but nowhere near 12" tall or long usually. Most are like 7" or 8" tall or long.

Many older figures have bad paint jobs. In the last year or two they have changed where they are made and most newer ones have much better paints. So try to find releases from the more recent waves if you want the best paints.
>>
>>11679872
They're not bad when you don't have a choice, but explore moncolles while you still can
>>
>>11679887
>explore moncolles while you still can
Not the guy, but are they ending it?
>>
>>11679900
i dont think so. They just make less and less every gen, but they do rerelease more often
>>
>>11679887
Moncolles suck for scale tho. Your Charmanders are the same size as your Charizards. Jazzwares scale sucks too sometimes but they're at least trying to be different sizes.
>>
>>11679910
Moncolle was meant for small characters only. That's how it's been since '98

Apparently, we’re getting four Tamagotchi Pokémon releases. Is this the first time Pokémon and Tamagotchi have collaborated?
>>

Only if they did a XL line for those, but I doubt it.
>>
>>11680065
If Blokees did make those it would be no different than if Moncolle made them. They'd be far too small to go with other figures. Unless they make another new Blokees line to make them huge, they will just be the same size as others

Agreed. If we're talking about a line like Zukan or Scale World, then obviously the scale matters but for an articulated line so long as the general size is considered I don't need exact sizes replicated in Blokees or Select. I would love to see select figures of, Kyogre and Groudon to go with Rayquaza. I don't need them to be in the Epic line. Though I kinda wish we got better articulation in the epic line.

>Jazwares gets to shit out another pearly repaint of the Kantoooo slop starters, maybe with the 30th anniversary logo on the box if we're lucky
>Blokees saved us with having cool Pokemon builds but may be going to shit if they decided to jump the bigger figures over to another part of their line thats more expensive and gives us less figures per "wave"
>>
>>11682132
Oh also one of the bigger content creators showed off what a few others in the discord found out; the fucking wings of Noivern have shitty paint on them that cracks as soon as you move them and the paint rubs off because of the material
>>

Still no sign of any ZA megas or even new molds. I'm starting to lose hope at this point

>>
>>11682137
Unfortunate. This wave was kinda meh and if I were to have gotten one it would've been Noivern.
>>
>>11683278
its so unfortunate. Noivern has the most qc issues of any figure in this entire line. There are lots of people showing pics of the paint on their wings disintegrating and coming off
>>
>>11683282
Poorwares has struck again
>>
It honestly feels much better to never buy jazwares selects ever again, they are scarce, ugly, joints do nothing. I searched Raikou for years and now it's just standing there with a derpy face. These figures give 0 value to the owner
>>
>>11680118
>Unless they make another new Blokees line to make them huge,
Hey, it's possible. They made a pretty big Nine Tailed Fox from Naruto.
>>
>>11683316
The beasts were pretty meh, I only got Suicune.
Raikou had weird engineering, Entei looked like he hit a pole.
>>
>>11682520
Considering we're just now starting to get some SV Pokemon (and not many at that) I think it'll probably be another year or two before we see anything remotely like the new Megas. At most, maybe something like Mega Lucario Z or something.

We've only gotten a few Megas anyways from Jazwares and its only been Charizard X and Y (which is coming in the next wave)
>>
>>11683316
The beasts, while cool that we got them, are some of the worse of the line because of the lack of real articulation to put them in any poses besides a halfhearted "running" pose.

>>
>>11683895
to make money? No other companies are making Pokemon figures for china so companies are getting the licenses to do that.
>>
>>11683909
cool. I hope it doesnt stop
>>
>>11683895
Chinese companies slowly started to build their ways into licensing. I believe the first time they got the license for their own Pokemon toys was with those foldable pokemon that you could put inside a ball and that was like 2017. Then in 2019 I remember pic related being a bit popular over here, it looks like a bootleg but it was licensed. I guess they got tired of producing for everybody instead of doing their own stuff
>>
>>11682132
I prefer Tomy style figures over articulated ones because all the seamlines become really obvious with Pokemon's simplistic designs, but it's always shillmons, and Jazzwares sculpts are too inaccurate for me. I don't want a complete dex, i just want my obscure bros.
>>
>>11683706

>>
>>11684862
galar and alola have probably the same amount of figs as other regions from sinnoh onward. They have been pretty evenly making figures aside from kanto and johto getting the most.
>>
>>11684862
When it comes to Galar it's mainly missing the legendaries which basically don't exist. There's a good amount of regular Pokemon to put with Gloria though. You have Rillaboom, Cinderace, Boltund, Toxtricity, Dragapult, Sirfetch'd, G-Ponyta and you can steal Raihan's Duraludon. There's a bunch of small obscure figures including stuff like the whole apple line, Zigzagoon, Perserker and Darumaka. I think the Pokemon that's really missing is Corviknight.
>>
>>11685686
Plus Wooloo, Impidimp, several Alcremies, Dreepy, Snom. Blokees just did Galar Sirfetch'd. There's Moncolle/T-Arts Kubfu, Rolycoly, + Rookidee that scale with most others too.
>>
>>11685736
>Galarian Sirfetched
You mean Galarian Farfetchd
>>
>>11685736
The G=maxes would make great epics too. I even have TT Arts Cramorant, but there is still so much missing
>>
>>11685748
Nobody wants Gmax's. What for? To put next to figures to show how silly they look because they're so small?
>>
>>11685736
Yea there's a good amount. Paldea is near the end of it's cycle and the companies are all just doing their own versions of Ceruledge, Armarouge and starters. Although it's not like there's a gen 9 trainer to put with them anyway.
>>
>>11685776
No different from owning Megas
>>
>>11685855
No, Megas are usually the same size at the non-Mega versions of the Pokemon. The G-Max ones filled stadiums. The size of literal buildings.
>>
>>11685866
i just want big toys of big characters, and Epic would be perfect. In fact, if Fail World making G-maxes means we get big toys of them anyway, that'd be a very take my money moment

Sculpting looks good. The face is giving weird vibes for some reason. The size of the Tomy one will still be better though. All these Blokees figures need to be taller to go with the Tomy articulated figures.

Pretty solid. Wonder if if the alt hands are 1 pair each for the chop and grab.
>>
>>11688152
I'd rather 4 punch effects instead
>>
I liked it better when each of these bBlokees figures were about $20. They went up each wave and now that these two recent ones are part of a different line, they went up even more in price. Nidoking is still around $35 at the cheapest I think.
>>
>>11688180
I mean they do are $20-$25 you are paying the extra for buying a "mainland china only" toy. Even with that gundamit had Nidoking preorder at $25
>>
>>11688184
This. I got my GD Nidoking pre-order in at €19,95.
They've since raised the price a a bit.
Still waiting for them to ship though.

Link to the GD Nidoking listing? I dont see any on there except Pikachu

The AliExpress listings for the first wave of the big and small ones were much cheaper though. They increased after each wave came out.

I'm still waiting for the latest Small wave to become <5 for me on Ali. But so many listing are the full set when I only want a few.

Link doesn't work. Just keeps redirecting to the home page. Can't find it when searching on the site either. Shitty site or not available to the united states?
>>
>>11688308
Either have to be logged in or have an account of X days then iirc.
>>
>>11688180
The quality isn't going up with the price, which is the dumb thing.

Like with everything

anyone know where I can get Takara Tomy welcome back (fat) pikachu? Most places are sold out because I was too stupid to pay attention and I don't want to pay slowpoke taxes (3x mark up).

Third party sellers on Amazon JP are still taking pre-orders. They don't ship outside of Japan, so you have to order it through a proxy site like From Japan or Zenmarket.

Probably New York toy fair in 2 weeks is where we'll see stuff. It's the 30th anniversary so hopefully we'll get to see what they have planned for the year if anything.

Where the fuck is my select zoroark jazwares?

Uh oh TPC could potentially fucking end Blokees' pokemon life. IM NOT JOKING
The story: 2 days ago Pokemon announced that they would held an event at Yasukuni shrine Tokyo (a shrine dedicated to people who died in the war, it contains a lot of Class A-C war criminals like the ones that did you know what to korea and China) That basically enraged a lot of chinese people and the controversy has been spreading rapidly. TODAY I received a mail from blokees itself, as I was one of the top three contenders for the 2025 BFC contest. They are canceling the display of pokemon images for the contest, meaning that I would probably lost my place. They also said that they don't know If blokees would be able to support the pokemon brand in the future so they hope we (the contestants) can understand why pokemon content is being restricted and that they hope it being just a temporary thing
....what the fuck lol I really hope this don't end that bad

Pokemon marketing at its finest again..

>Immediately moves over to Megaman
>>
>>11692671
It really sucks to be that person that was a top three contestant. Imagine something really random like this happening and losing your spot. I think it'll blow over after a a while and people will forget about it. From what I'm reading now they already cancelled the shrine event and Pokemon has issues an apology saying it was a mistake.

>Starts with MM Zero, thus killing themselves immediately
>>
>>11693153
>seething in other threads about them choosing to start elsewhere instead of doing X and Classic again when there are other companies right now doing X or classic
>>
>>11693304
You don't get it. Blokees could make further characters for X and Classic, even overlap with better versions maybe. But they're still going to the Mega Man that's always the killer for some reason
>>
noticed none posted red next to nidoking here yet? here you go
>>
>>11693489
This doesnt look right. Nidoking should be at least as tall as him.
>>
>>11693489
My short king.
Still waiting on GD to ship
>>
>>11693489
I would if I had Red... Figma doesn't want to rerelease him it seems.

>>11693535
Nidoking is pretty small
