So, a new year means new releases. Toy Fair is coming and promises reveals, and we also have reveals confirmed for March 19.

Hopes? Maybe this year we’ll get more themes besides Hot Wheels... Are you enjoying the current MBS offerings? Discuss.

Literally ANYTHING that isn't carshit. I'll take a Barbie house over yet another hotwheels car.

it's frustrating that Mega Bloks increased their prices. the logic is that increased prices create the illusion of value, it's just as valuable as Lego, because it has the same prices now.

the only way Mattel topples the giant is by REAL value. they already stole the brick designs, and now they are learning to "steal" the building techniques/philosophies of Lego designers: Lego's "real" strength is the sturdiness of the models

Mattel needs to run a long-term strategy. slowly chip away at Lego's seemingly invulnerability. by getting sets into the houses with vastly cheaper prices (we all know it's still profitable, just not as much) Lego is drifting away from THE MINIFIGURE and Mattel can copy giant statues exactly

imagine if this Ash/Pikachu sold for $50. it would CRUSH Lego! after several years of getting sets into houses, then the visualization would start to blend.

"hey cool Lego set!"
"That's actually a Mega Bloks set!"
"for real!? looks better than the Lego!"
(shared laughter)

thanks for listening to my blog post. I wish Mattel Brick Shop was cheaper. is it up to Brick Craft now?

I guess this is the confirmation halo is over.
Halo kept mega alive for over a decade and now its joever.
>>
>>11680205
Why? Mattel doesn't make Halo toys so why would they post the Halo logo? Brick Shop still can do Halo and not show the logo there since that only features Mattel Brands.
>>
>>11680111
>lego drifting away from minifigure
I see it the other way around, the minifigure is the only thing. Lego actually owns and other brands can't replicate. Lots of buildable figures or statues have minifigs now.

>no blindbags/heroes since 2023

its over

What
>>
>>11680228
What do you mean what? They cancelled the leaked sets and the last time they released heroes/blindbags was 3 years ago.
>>
>>11680236
Damn, that's kino

I miss Mega Pokemon
>>
Wait, they promised reveals at NYTF this year? Where did you hear about that?
>>
>>11680887
Mattel will have the biggest booth in years at NYTF, Mattel Brick Shop is rumoured to be part of the MotU toys they will show there for the movie.
>>
I picked up the NSX today finally had found it in store. Only other one i've bought and built was the Audi Avant, awesome kit, I love the custom parts that set it apart from Lego keeping everything as brick-built as possible. The whole point of a car is aesthetics, it should look good and not sacrifice visuals for some dumbass fetish to have everything made out of square and rectangle bricks.
>>
>>11680901
Yea mega bricks is totally gonna be kicking Legos ass in a few years
>>
>>11680920
I actually see mattel brick shop in stores compared to Mega stuff but if Mattel handle it again like how they did Mega.... yeah
>>
>>11680920
They BTFO Lego multiples times in the past on their own. It's crazy to think now but the Dragons line at its peak allowed them to surpass Lego in sales.
>>
They need to lean hard into what Lego isn't allowed to do: war/military toys. Boys absolutely love army toys but Lego won't make them because of gay ideological reasons. Easy win right there.
>>
>>11680920
Go away Athena.

Any news yet on Halo

If MEGA went back to actually not doing licenses in a half-assed way (X-files - no Scully) and had smaller *inexpensive* builds like the old COD sets (before the prices rose and the number of figures diminished) they would be market contenders.
Matty is just paying LEGO Danegeld by licensing products to them.
Look at the Pokemon builds and compare prices.
This Hot Wheels shit is fine as a side-line for the Desk-Daddies but put out Metal Gear sets (and Heroes packs - single or otherwise) as a suggestion.
>>
>>11682396
moving away from those battle packs of figures its what killed mega, people want their god tier minis.
>>
>>11682414

I thought it was pretty obvious so that pivot was designed to reign in and crash the MEGA design/ sales wing. I mean sure some people love their "replica" xboxes.. but where's the fun or play value?
I mean if they sold the Griffon in their Witcher "Masterbuild" set separately at a price comparable to their slime-egg Dragons and critters they could have cranked out a series of Witcher / folklore based critters and a Hero's pack of the main characters.
Customizable adventurers would probably be a lot more interesting to the people using minifigs to play D&D and other games as well.
(Doesn't HASBRO own Wizards of the Coast?)
These "bad decisions" had to have been made on purpose.
>>
Apparently motu movie toys will be revealed in the next 2 weeks, chances for MBS sets?
>>
>>11683416
Didn't Matty sell that to LEGO?
>>
>>11683416
>>11683437
An Anon leaked some stuff last year (or maybe it was two years ago) that Lego would get both Barbie and MoTU.

We might see them next week
>>
>>11686002
Hope so
>>
>>11679983
So, how are MBS sales going? Good?
>>
Looks like playmobile got the monster high license.
>>
>>11687210
And? Playmobil are a different type of toy from lego and mega/brickshop so this doesn't stop them from making sets too
>>
>>11683984
How funny would it be if these MotU sets were just reissues of the Mega sets rebranded for MBS?

MEGA, MATTEL, CAN YOU IDIOTS WAKE UP AND MAKE MORE BETHESDASLOP?! YOU CAN EVEN REPURPOSE THOSE PRO-BUILDERS BEYONDER MOLDS INTO STARFIELD STUFF!
>>
>>11687427
I would be ok with this because I own none of them and would like to get them
>>
>>11679983
Crazy how well received MBS is

More licenses:

Nuremberg Toy Fair is this week and Mattel will have a huge presence.
>>
>>11687800
Cool
>>
Mattel has now dropped the Mega brand from their linkedin
>>
>no KDH building sets at Nuremberg
>no MotU building sets at Nuremberg
>only more cars teased for MBS
It's like they don't like money
>>
>>11689969
Lego got the KDH license

They showed MBS sets at Nuremberg behind closed doors

Also there will be a reveal on february 12 for mbs and nytf will bring in the new sets. MotU seems very likely from what I've learned to have sets...

I do think if Mattel secured KDH license for MBS they would have a hit but Lego got it.
>>
>>11689969
cars are the only thing that consistently sell the numbers don't lie, cope and sneed you delusional fuck
>>11691376
Lego can sell anything because it's the brick brand and everything else is considered a knock off it's like none of you pay attention to what people said about mega shit
>>
>>11687800
FUUUUCK
CAAAAAAR
SHIIIIIIIIT
>>
>>11687800
>>11689016

They sold / leased all their actual good licenses with LEGO. that way LEGO won't feel the "competition" and Matty makes MORE money without making shit.
>>
>>11691380
>sell only car sets
>"cars are the only thing that consistently sell"
Wew, dealing with a real brain over here.
>>
>>11692438
>>11692931
he man failed, and it's getting a new movie. what's the excuse?
>OH NONONO THAT DOESNT COUNT TMNT FAILED TOO MATTY JUST FUCKS UP
Lego had the TMNT license too and it clearly didn't sell either , faggot
>OH BUT WHOLESOME KINO CALL OF DUTY AND HALO
gamers don't buy toys
>>
are the new Brick Shop sets revealed yet?
>>
According to toyhabits we are getting some MotU display sets like Mgea Battle Cat and Power Sword (not those but display stuff) and more playsets, one of them mentioned was a fright fighter set and a smaller scale Grayskull playset.
>>
>endless car shit
FUCK OOOOOOOOOOOFF
>>
I found this while browsing on Amazon recently. Interesting how they used pieces from the juggernaut instead of just reusing all of the astronaut pieces.
>>
mega dead
>>
>>11694938
I would love to see what ever dodgy company that was making / "borrowing" MEGA parts doing more fire fighter sets.

>>11694941
well if you mean new ones are unavailable yes. like many other toys like Major Matt Mason or clackers. But people still play with them so... not really.
>>
>>11695495
>Hammer instead of an axe
Is it because there is no mold? Surely mega at least made an axe once, right?
>>
>>11695685
They have axes but they are mostly the more "warlike" ones form God of War.
