He was a gag artist who was forced to write serious storylines against his own will. The Freezer stuff was him taking a crack at dramatic story telling just so his characters could have a nice memorable sendoff. He didn't think for a second his editors were going to twist his arm into doing 2-3 more arcs like that.

Yeah, I haven't played the game but I like those designs, I would also prefer their less chibi versions from the manual. Similar to Dragon Quest figs.

When you consider they OWN THE IP and the quality of the action figures are on the lower end (PVC held with simple hard plastic joints vs mix of ABS and PVC with some gimmicky joints like SHF) they still are rather expensive. Like a Revoltech is of similar construction, but on top of paying for the licensing they usually come with more and if it was an AY the articulation is leagues ahead. But the price is about the same as BA. SE knows they have no competitors so they are being lazy and charging you more.
