Gotta go with Hasbro, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Nerf, Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black and TVC are all fantastic lines more often then not while Mattel only really has He-Man and the various He-Man offshoots. For "boys toys" you really can't beat the company that created the first Action Figure.

Hasbro. Think the last thing I bought from Mattel was this New 52 Batgirl 13 years ago on the right and it was only a few years later I replaced her with the DCC one on the left.

Hasbro has the three really solid action figure lines of Star Wars Black, Marvel Legends and G.I. Joe Classified (and Transformers) plus they own D&D not to mention the board games like Monopoly and art toys like Play-Doh.
Mattel owns three juggernaut brands...Barbie, Hot Wheels and Fisher Price. Barbie had a huge movie a few years ago. They also have He-Man, which feels like it should be has big as TF or GI Joe but for some reason just has failed to make a big relaunch.
I always get the impression that Hasbro is kind of a whore. Hasbro knows that if theirs an opportunity to make money they'll take it, even if it dosn't really make sense for the brand. Like think about the endless TransformersX[other franchise] toys they make.
Mattel is a little different. They treat Barbie with an almost religious amount of seriousness. That's kind of what the Barbie movie was poking fun at. I can garuntee you nobody at Hasbro gives a shit about any of the mythology of GI Joe or Transformers beyond that. It's the same way with Hot Wheels, they're primary function is to look as dope as possible and run really fast on a track (compared to other toy cars that wan to be accurate and realistic)
So yeah, Hasbro is a cheap whore and Mattel is a high class escort whore.

Hasbro will get on its knees and blow you in the alley while Mattel will only fondle you through your jeans in the alley long enough to get you to use your phone to make a reservation at the Courtyard by Marriott near the airport for the night?

I only collect Star Wars and G I. Joe so the answer is pretty easy; Hasbro. Mattel makes great dinosaurs though, I'll give them that but their humans suck major ass. They really need someone from Hasbro's TVC team to come give them lessons.

>They also have He-Man, which feels like it should be has big as TF or GI Joe but for some reason just has failed to make a big relaunch
Because it's 80s stupidity and the only people who like that stupidity are nostalgiafags.
Robots and humans fighting wars are classic themes. Technobarbarians involved in mischievous pranks aren't.

ooof
Hasbro understands kids, thus they know that kids already cross over their franchises without little care if it makes sense or not. So Hasbro cashes in on it and tries to please them. Everyone is happy. That's not being a whore, that's just being fun.
Whereas Mattel IS serious about their business. Too serious. So serious that they toylines are hampered by their cost effectiveness. Less articulation. Fewer molds. Less paint. etc. Mattel puts business ahead of their toys/fanbase in such a margin that it puts off a lot of people from buying their products.
MAYBE HeMan would be more popular, if it was a little more enticing, with a bit more paint, better sculpts/more molds, and/or better articulated. Mattel lost the DC license because of how cheap they were with it and their DC toylines kept bombing. The only reason Mattel was able to keep the license for so long was because they were paying maximum licensing prices because of how big they are.
We've already see how Barbie was losing out 20 years ago, due to other companies giving girls more bang for their buck and the only way Mattel was able to beat their competitors was through litigation.
Mattel effectively remains in the business they use their size/money to remain in business. ... which is sort of an oxymoron, considering MegaBloks is a dead company/brand... but then, LEGO is bigger than Mattel, huh?

>Mattel effectively remains in the business they use their size/money to remain in business

What? It was failing before the buyout, no one cared about it ever
>>

Mega Bloks wasn't failing.
Revenue in 2011 was 375 million in 2011 and then climbed to 420 million the next year. When Mattel bought them, they had a revenue of 408 million in 2013.
Whatever reason that Mega Brands decided to sell themselves off to Mattel was something internal, because their products were getting more popular.
After Mattel bought them, Mattel immediately cut their budget. Fewer pieces per set. Fewer minifigures per set. They cut out original toylines. Typical Mattel business sense, so its no wonder that the Mega Bloks line isn't a thing anymore.

Both suck and mishandle their best toylines in different ways. 15 years ago I would have said Hasbro without a doubt, now it's a choice between heebs and wannabe heebs. Ironically, I miss Goldner.

Ok
https://gayleague.com/gi-joe-grows-up-talking-to-paul-allor-about-quee r-characters-fresh-stories-and-blow ing-up-the-world/
And the funny thing is, the alphabet crowd didn't even need to retcon it with their agenda like they have tried to do with Transformers. Excluding most Vipers, 80% of them look like Village People rejects. Just look at Shipwreck and Dr Mindbender. Gung-ho and Roadblock look like they are barracks bunnies whenever they aren't in the field. Zarana is a pink haired lesbian, and Zandar...fuck. Just look at him. Prince Adam might wear pink, the only reason Zandar needs kneepads is for all the time he spends at the local gloryhole.
Look at this faggot.

Nigger, Hasbroke is losing money like crazy. They lost $500 million in September. (((Cocks))) is liquidating the company and emptying the coffers, has been doing that for a few years now. Nothing the company is doing right now works out for them.
>TF keeps bombing, GI Joe/Power Rangers with AI slop goes nowhere, Horsefuckerthing is dead, D&D/MTG is a wokefest hurting sales, Littlest Pet Shop is dead, Nerf guns rekt by Zuru XShots, the list goes on.
I think (((Ryan Cohen))) of GameStop will just buy the brands for a penny.

>solid action figure lines
>Star Wars Black
Black series is losing more and more articulation by the wave. Eventually they will just be stactions with a few swivels and the people who still buy it will defend it.
>G.I. Joe Classified
Classified was solid early on with some figures, but they've started over-ratcheting their joints and are getting sloppy on articulation on more recent releases. This is probably the technically best line Hasbro still produces though.

https://gameinformer.com/2026/01/20/former-nintendo-of-america-preside nt-doug-bowser-joins-hasbro-board-w eeks-after
>Doug Bowser (from Nintendo North America) has been appointed to the board of Hasbro.
This guy will either save the company or be the final nail in the coffin. Let me explain: Nintendo got a new phase of pure greed around after the time he got appointed, but it might very well be that he is blameless for it. (Japan got greedy and retarded and they forced him into retirement because he couldn't make good on what they forced him to do). AFAIK, we don't know whether he had a hand in Nintendo's greed or was just a regional head.
If he was active part of Nintendo's greed, Hasbro is fucked.
If he's not, there might be something else; a lot of the institutional shareholders figured out a year ago that (((Cocks))) was screwing them over. It was so bad lawyers offered to sue the board, but that would hurt the shareholders more than they would gain out of it so they didn't. So Bowser's appointment along with the CEO of The Honest Company may be part of a pushback against Cocks. (Honest Company and its CEO Carla Vernon are ''lefty do-gooders who actually think they do good and want to do good and be happy and blabla''). Meaning; it's a business conflict between shareholder factions, which could have positive consequences.

Yeah no, Barbie is Mattel woke project now. Source: my sister stopped looking at them after she notices how ugly they have become post 2020. Barbie herself look uglier and kinda fatter compared to her 2000-2016 selves. Hotwheels seems to be the only thing they took seriously right now as they somehow able to follow trends and even create ones, like how they hype Datsun 510 and r34 lbwk as the coolest things ever that even premium brands followed suit.

https://www.golocalprov.com/business/hasbro-ceo-cocks-and-execs-sued-f or-alleged-securities-violations
>In total, the Company spent an aggregate amount of approximately $125 million to repurchase approximately 1.4 million shares of its own common stock at artificially inflated prices from April 2022 to July 2022.
>“In order to account for shortfalls in other elements of the Company’s businesses, new Magic sets would thus be “parachuted in” to provide additional revenue.
>“The BofA Report observed that ‘Magic sales nearly doubled over the course of the pandemic’ and that ‘Hasbro has kept the growth going with more frequent set releases, more product in each set and wider distribution"
>BofA report further stated that the ‘increased supply’ of Magic had ‘caused distributors, collectors and local game stores to lose money on Magic,’” according to the lawsuit.
Let's assume they're found guilty. It's a *civil* federal lawsuit, not a criminal one. So punishment would most likely be ''give the money you unfairly gained and we'll give it to the shareholders''. But that's pennies, so I doubt that's their goal. The real goal is to convince the judge to ban them from having CEO or board member roles ever again, meaning this is a coup to get the board taken over. Appointing Bowser and Vernon right now isn't a coincidence.
Why I believe this? I think the shareholders are getting the hint the brands are going to shit.
>The lawsuit says, “As a result of Magic consumers’ 'growing frustration' with the ballooning number of Magic sets, the BofA report concluded, ‘We expect they’ll order less product in future releases.'"
>"As a direct and proximate result of the Individual Defendants’ conduct, Hasbro has lost and expended, and will continue to lose and expend, many millions of dollars."
Translation: "You're chasing the customers away you dipshits"
They could allege this about any brand but the problem is of course proving that.

Mattel won on movie side, Masters of the Universe looks to be agreat film so they already have more better films than Hasbro with Barbie and Motu. Take movies in the works like Jon M Chu Hot Wheels and Megan director Monster High films and Mattel are doing better than Hasbro on Hollywood side.
>>
>>11680321
Mattel never ruined D&D, Magic or took copious amounts of Mousecock. Thus, Mattel wins handily.
