Best thread currently on /toy/.
Thank you OP. May you be blessed with happiness.

I'm sad we never got an origins version of that vehicle.

It's not too late...Origins is still going and a movie is on the horizon, so there's sure to be lots of toys. Maybe they sneak it in somewhere

I didnt realize this thread was still on the catalog!

I enjoyed this thread so much it led me down the rabbit hole of imagining new arms for the old Power Arm Terminator.
>>
Also got into the habbit of genning a few different repaint ideas.

Bump for interest

OP here. I'm glad folks like the thread. I just had the idea pop into my head and wanted to share it.

This is really awesome. I like to colour linework, so I did this mock-up. It's just preliminary, so if you or anyone else has an idea for 90s style colour applications let me know and I can implement them, and try and polish up the rest of the image.
Also you didn't happen to do some Scooby-Doo/MOTU crossover images into the MOTU general a while back did you?
>>
>>11693572
Also in case someone with more talent than I have wants to play around with it, here's just the cleaned up linework,

Yep that's me! It was a pleasant surprise to see you ink and color my work again. You always do a bang up job of it. The only bits I'd have you tweak are the buzz saw and rocket punch arms. I'd imagined the buzz saw would also be a translucent red like the laser axe, and the rocket punch arm was shaded to indicate black paint apps on the wrist, elbow, shoulder, and fingers. It's not a big deal though. I really love what you delivered anyways!

Imagine this fucking scene, the T800 flying a supersonic experimental combat helicopter armed with big ass rockets with a light machinegun mounted on the cockpit and giving you the finger.

He looks good in white, I liked the blue faced one too.

Thanks. Alot of them are just shameless references. I might mess with some simpler ones soon enough. The hazmat looking one was a favorite of mime from this second batch.

The Hurricane Star was borrowed from the Coleco Rambo collection and released as part of the Terminator 2 toyline in Argentina by Jocsa (since they had the rights to both lines then). Part of me wishes they had gone whole hog with all the Rambo vehicles. Imagine a 6×6 Defender done up like the T2 Mobile Assault vehicle. Silver camo pattern, Terminator skull decals, etc.

Does anyone know if the modular parts off rapid repair terminator are compatible with power arm terminator? I'm genuinely curious.

Oh, shot. That's a recolor of the helicopter from the Coleco Rambo line.

Courtesy of Jocsa, yeah.

I thought I recognised your art style.
>I'd imagined the buzz saw would also be a translucent red like the laser axe
I definitely got that sense, though by the time I got it to the point I was ready to post it, it was about 7:30 in the morning and I hadn't slept the whole night. Here is a further coloured version, I added more colour around, I know it's not super in line with how the rest of the Terminator line worked, but I just couldn't stop seeing the grappling hook with yellow on it, or hazard stripe stickers on some parts.
I also reworked a little bit of the line work on the laser axe arm, to add in a Robocop reference. I couldn't help it.

I love the pops of the color on all the attachments. You're completely right about it feeling in line with kenner's school of design. Kudos for working in the Robocop greebles on the laser axe shoulder. I think Kenner passing on the opportunity to merchandise the crossover was and is the biggest wasted opportunity ever. I imagine something like this could have seen the light of day through the hypothetical Robocop vs Terminator line.

>I think Kenner passing on the opportunity to merchandise the crossover was and is the biggest wasted opportunity ever.
Yeah, it sucks. I'm a big fan of both properties. It bums me out that the only figures are from NECA, and no other Terminator or Robocop line scale with each other except ReAction whose Terminator figures suck.
>>
>>11694627
I think the toy island robocops might scale better but they're probably a hair shorter too. It's a shame Lanard's efforts with Aliens and Predatot died on the vine because they're just about the only company who could do kid friendly Robocop toys right. I drew a whole bunch of art based on that idea years ago now.
