Stiff joints, mediocre articulation, brittle accessories, an almost painfully tight neck joint for the head swap, fiddlyness in getting the shield on and an honestly awkward body shape.

But otherwise pretty cool toy if you can get it cheap. I got two, would love to grab one more as three is always a good number for army building.

>brittle accessories
like the sword will break if i bend it a little?
i mean i want it to pose like a cool badass orc, nothing more
also im used to handling fragile polystone statues so is it comparable to this?

All I know is that I hope someone decent picks up DST's licenses, gets their molds and designs, and continues to do re-issues of their stuff. To make up for how Entertainment Earth hosed me on my Iron Giant pre-order.

Meat being back on the menu.

the best 1/12 scale Helm's Deep Uruk Hai we got. I know Diamond Select was 7" scale or whatever. However, the bar for the "best" was already abyssal. The Toybiz one was always ass.

it does it's job but the issues are already mentioned in the first comment

Yea, the sword especially is very stiff and very thin. It's not gonna shatter if you look at it, just take care when pushing into his grip.

If you're looking for the basics, >>11682545 is right at it being the best film LotR Orc on the market. But that's because there's very little competition. It's a competent figure, but it can be frustrating for people who expect more from a $30+ figure.

Again, if you can get em cheap, they're absolutely worth it.

Does anyone have a decent LOTR line in 1/12 scale? (even though I assume whatever line it might be doesn't include Orcs)

Probably a toy in the mail

It's like he just noticed the ground is full of dog turds and he has stepped on one.

Sadly no. Toybiz figures are ancient and bad, they were cool for their time but quickly you will see they are ugly.

There were some Hobbit film figures(Bridge Direct) but I think those were 3.75 or 5 inch. They were cheaply made.

Diamond Select took up the mantle. Gimli is good, above the bar. I'd say get him if you want a Gimli in 1/12. Their Legolas sucks and he's missing accessories, even Gimli was missing an axe or two if I remember. The Isengard Uruk Hai is good enough. I don't have the rest of the Diamond Select line, the Moria Orc looks good but I don't own it.

SHF made a Aragorn and Frodo, their likeness look rough for both. Aragorn is a mishmash of FOTR scenes, he's not accurate to any FOTR scene. Closest is maybe to post-Moria on the rocks during the Gandalf lament scene?

1/6 kinda sucks too.

Companies seem to struggle with LOTR. There's a lot of cloth and capes involved in the designs. However it's not true at all. I still hope we get a dedicated and quality line one day. Maybe SHF can turn it around.

but the trolls are super cool

I'd like to correct myself on the SHF Aragorn, not sure why I had such a false memory on it's accuracy. Perhaps it melded with the DS Aragorn.

Anyway, SHF Aragorn is pretty accurate.

He has the duster coat and the elven cloak during the departing Lorien scene, very blink and you miss it. Probably a coincidence on why Bandai has this version of the figure released though.

Otherwise take off the elven cloak and it's close enough to a Moria Aragorn. He's missing a travel bag or two but that's it. He's definitely too clean.

Here you can see him having the duster and robe then him having removed his duster upon landing in Amon Hen.
