They showed the new WWE collection at London Toy Fair, summer lines should be shown at Nuremberg, apparently they will have a huge hall.

We don't have new Barbie pics yet but there are more sets coming and apparently there is another Mattel IP that wasn't announced yet coming. MotU? Or DC?

I find it interesting how many Mattel IPs they got, maybe Mattel wants to buy them?

Like I mentioned in the previous thread, Playmobil's weakest asset is the figures themselves. They have some great concepts, ful details and the way they can be accessorized these days are actually impressive. But the core figure, the core, base design of the toys themselves, is incredibly outdated and unfun to actually play with. With better figures the playsets, vehicles and accessories that come with them are lots of fun. But the stock figures are just too stiff and have no personality to them.
>>
>>11687201
But the playmobil figure is their lego minifig, what could they do to update it? The playmo figure is their core brand
>>
>>11687201
What's really the biggest difference between Playmobil and Lego figures, articulated wrists? They aren't THAT different.
>>
>>11687260
I think they introduced wrist articulation in 1982.
>>
>>11687260
Playmobil figures have both legs joined in a single articulation at the hips, so you can't pose them walking; you are supposed to play and tippy-tap-tap-tap them with your hand.
>>
>>11687292
People pose Lego figures as walking or kicking or something? Aren't they usually in a seat or cockpit or something?
>>
What REALLY bugs me is how the Lego Friends figures look like a totally different line.
>>
Playmobil GIJoe when? Are playmobil against military like lego? Joes could work
>>
>>11687088
No John Cena or the Rock?
>>
>>11687298
Lego minifigs balance remarkably well in a walking/running pose because of their square feet, so people do it all the time.
>>
Lol at HHH putting himself in a 3 pack with Austin and Undertaker. He knows nobody wants a HHH figure. I Guarantee he had input on that decision.
>>
>>11687091
>maybe Mattel wants to buy them?
A provocative idea, but it just might be that both companies want to cooperatively increase their foothold in US and European markets. A buyout of a brand usually means the seller's in financial straits, but Playmobil still sells pretty well in Europe afaik

Ok I saw Cena in the end but no the Rock
>>
>>11687204
Well nothing as it seems to be working just fine for them. I'm sure plenty of other people like em, but they've always been the biggest barrier for me to getting into their stuff, even back when I was still a kid.

>>11687260
Well, for as similar as they are, the differences are pretty stark
Size - Being so tiny, Lego mini-figs are almost unique in their size range. Their smallness makes their simplicity far more charming. Playmobil on the other hand is similarly sized to pretty much every major small child's toyline at this point so their simplicity makes them less interesting by comparison.

Modularity - Lego figures are made of Lego parts, easily disassembled and mixed about and can be used for a variety of purposes. So again, their simplicity is a strength in that regard. Playmos are far more difficult to break down into parts, almost as if they really weren't meant to be disassembled.

Aesthetics - Lego figures match Lego pieces. they have the same stud heads and blocky builds and simple shapes of most Lego parts. This helps them look and feel like a cohesive set. Playmobil on the other hand has detailed, almost realistic buildings and vehicles and settings and backgrounds....and then the figures are ball headed simple faced stick figures. There's a disconnect between the sets themselves and the figures that populate them.

Dynamism - Even though they have similar articulation overall, Lego people feel FAR more dynamic. Simple things like independently articulated legs, the angled arms and even the subtle tilt in their wrists can give them life and let them feel like they're doing something actiony despite how limited their movement is. Playmos on the other hand are as stiff as you can get, without even the implication of any kind of actions.

>Doesn't Super7 basically fill this role with their ReAction Joes?
I think they're done with the ReAction ones and will be focusing on O-rings going forward.

Why is Austin wearing a cap? I know he wore one since he made merch money but it's not like it was a regular deal like say the vest or knee braces or gold chain even.

>They showed the new WWE collection at London Toy Fair,
is there confirmation that this was the whole lineup? Rhea needs her girlfriend Iyo Sky. or at least one more Diva so she'd have someone to wrestle against (?)

not a bad selection overall, otherwise. obviously there's a hundred other characters that would be cool, but it's a good start.

I hate to point out the obvious, but somebody at Playmobil should make sure these are part of the merch selections at the live events. WWE stadium sales would 100% ensure these are a success. that's easy math.
>>
>>11687396
From all the Playmos I've handled, once they're built they do not come apart easily. I've tried pulling off heads and arms and they are very much secured in place. I'm not saying they can't be removed, but it's no where near as easy as pulling a Lego man apart.

To be more precise, a Lego man can have it's head, hands and lower half all popped off with ease. And while legs and arms can also pop apart, they're far more secured and not really intended to be mixed and matched as frequently.

Playmo figures are built entirely like the Lego Man's arm and leg joints. Solid and not really meant to be pulled apart, but possible with enough force and pressure.

A lot seeing as plenty were french and english Privateer's, professional raiders in service of their own nation, and frequently former naval officers who "left" official service to engage in piracy against foreign powers.

Playmobil Hi! will be revealed Today. Said to be Playmobil figures that can talk, sort of like what Lego does with Smart Play. Toys that can talk are the future according to Playmobil.

I guess the tech is more primitive compared to Lego Smart Play.

First look at Playmobil Hi!

It releases this fall and will be available in english, french and german languages.

Will make figures talk. Lines that will be available will be town, pirates, knights and princesses and much more.

More reveals Tomorrow
>>
>>11687403
not a single one, either very strong tan or lobster red
>>
>As a major innovation, Playmobil plans to release a technology this fall that brings play worlds like pirates, police, space, riding stables, and zoos to life with sounds and talking figures in German, English, and French. According to Kurter, this will also provide inspiration for new play ideas and tell stories.
>>
>>11688162
They released a trailer on playmobil instagram and showed some of the playsets, works like smart bricks but instead of figures having some kind of chips inside, there is a backpack that makes sounds and they can actually talk which is nice, better than smart bricks imo. They also have a generic backpack separate from police, zoo, pirates, etc. which you can put your own sounds with the app.

Figures for the new German national football team for the 2026 tournament have just been unveiled in Nuremberg, according to the tabloid Bild, which also published a picture:

Could this be reused for MotU? I'm very curious if MotU is happening or not because it would be weird to not release them this year with the movie coming.

Thank you for sharing, they all look great!

>>11691249
I like that this set seems like it'll match the older Lion Knight sets instead of the newer Novellmore releases. Sadly the only enclosed structure seems to be that central tower and the rest is all just ramparts. Cool looking set, but I don't think it'll suit my needs.

>>11691252
This one on the other hand looks far more interesting, a dangerous dungeon for my Adventurers to explore and conquer. Not big enough to be an evil lair for my lord of evil, but still neat enough to get up to some quest shenanigans

>>11691257
As I said before, I kind of hate that the actual Playmo figures aren't that great. I mean, they have *fantastic* concepts behind them, but the actual construction of the figures detracts from the entire franchise imo.

Still, it's nice to find figures that DO work well with Playmo castles, makes the whole set up way more fun.

You're welcome but I gotta say since the new captcha it's hard to post pics, get boring fast.
>>
>>11691265
Yea, new captcha sucks on mobile devices, though I feel it's faster on the Desktop version. Usually only get one puzzle and it's the easier one.

Still a sucky new system.

So just ordered this monster of a boat on Wednesday and the dang thing was at my door tonight. I don't even have the full crew I plan for it yet, but it was the deal of the week on the official Playmobil site and I couldn't pass on it at that price.

Probably won't be able to open it for a few days, but the box alone is pretty huge. The last thing I need at this point in my life is a new line of large objects to collect, but at least with Playmobil I can use the excuse that my kid can play with em too and she's gonna love this thing lol.
