Not after probably Summer. Based on these reveals in Germany, they may do the movie toy line for Drunk Supergirl. I'm expecting a Mamoa Lobo who can cut a fart, whistle at his moto, and call you toots in his real voice. If it wasn't the kid line, he'd also come up with a light up cigarette accessory.

>Approximately 32 to 45 million American adults—about 21% of the U.S. adult population—are functionally illiterate, meaning they cannot read above a fifth-grade level. Additionally, over 50% of adults cannot read a book at an eighth-grade level, according to data from the Literacy Project Foundation.

Fisher Price and SpinMaster have done movie-tie-in toes with the actor's voice. SpinMaster did it for the 2023 Flash and I think they did it for either Batpatinson or Batfleck.
You fuckers aren't really DC fans who grew up on the characters, comic books and cartoons like some of us, so you love to talk shit about "kids lines" - well, let me tell you, these are all fucking toys.
PICREL has 5POA and fucking talks and only cost me $5-7 new, on clearance from the Bald Billionaire.
Anytime I have people over for dinner, or for something like a movie night or to catch a game as a group, and they look through my display, it's the one thing at least one person picks up (never asking, mind you, just taking it in their paws but never mind).
When they find it talks and sounds "just like The Rock," they all get hard and wet. The girls especially are excited, dig out their phones to find out they can't order it anymore.
tl'dr A farting, butt scratching, cigar smoking Lobo toy should be the least surprising thing to happen in 2026.

DC Says Anime & Manga’s Advantage Over Western Comics Lies in Storytelling
Jim Lee, DC Comics President, Chief Creative Officer, and Publisher, spoke to Nikkei XTrend about his career, current trends, and the advantages that Japanese manga and anime have over Western comics. Lee says that Japanese storytelling (and Asian content more broadly) is booming because young people want to discover something that is “uniquely their own,” perhaps rather than just inheriting current trends, and because of the nature of the stories compared to Western comics:
The stories told in Japanese manga and anime are incredibly powerful. I often find myself wondering, ‘What is missing in Western comics, and why aren’t they able to achieve the same flavor?’ Also, I think manga has an ‘advantage’ over American comics, which are mostly about superheroes, and that’s where the majority of sales and readers are concentrated.“
“In Japan, it’s closer to ‘literature,’ and anyone can read it, and it’s not just hero stories. There’s a much wider range of genres, like stories about cooking and soccer. You can draw stories from that. So I’m very happy that the manga has been so successful, because it gives me a ‘goal’ to aim for. The manga market is bigger than our industry, so the question becomes, ‘What can we learn from this?’“
Lee says that it’s not just art style, but the “sensibility” of Japanese stories, and later adds, “Another thing to add is that in the West, comics and animation have been considered ‘children’s media.’ As people grow up, they move on to live-action. But in Japan, that’s not the case. Not only is there a wide range of genres, but adults also read manga and watch anime. As a culture, it’s an ‘art’ that isn’t limited to a specific age group.“

>REMINDER ADULT COLLECTORS WERE A MISTAKE
>Toy Story used to make fun of them, you know
Adult toy collectors sure are cringe. If there is a scenario where an adult robs a toy from a kid, that just makes them look bad.
Model kits however is a more acceptable adult-oriented hobby.

And being able to read a book at over an eighth grade level gets one nothing as people with connections and in person social skills are valued. That's not favorable for toy collectors, so how do toy collectors get vast fortunes to spend on thousands of dollars of plastic anyway?
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11691720
They don't. Marvel Legends and DC Multiverse, despite being technically kids lines, are definitely geared towards adult collectors. Plus, no parent is spending, on average, $25 a pop, on an action figure that little Timmy is just going to break or lose within a month. Kids lines like the Marvel Action Heroes stuff, Spinmasters, and Mattel's new DC line exist at a lower price point for kids.
>>
>>
>>11691741
I haven't seen anything for the kids line, and no info has been released about the collectors line at all yet, we won't see anything for at least six months, if not more for that. I'd imagine the kids line to be comparable to whatever Hasbro's Marvel kids line is at, I don't pay attention to that so I don't know, but you're a big kid, you can look up the price for those yourself.
>>
>>11691768
They also have a cheaper line called Action Heroes or something that are a smaller scale and are a kids line. They're comparable to Spinmasters stuff. I know you're being factious though, cut it out. No one thinks it's cute.

Hasbro and Mattel are publicly traded companies and have events scheduled because they have quarterly reports and shareholder meetings where they have to show they made an effort to promote and hype the licenses they're paying for, to attract more investors. It's gay shit run by people with business degrees who don't even know what a Batman or Darth Vader are, they're just franchises that make them money.
>>
>>11691783
Supposedly already available, since we have only had one decent OP before Jarrett hijacked those last three threads and just copied the OP over like current OP did last night, you'll just need to do your own home work.
But foreign collectors already posted physical toys on social, so they won't be cancelled due to Mattel.

My friend, please see motu origins. Tell me how many teelas you count. I'm not suggesting that there is a ton of females in origins but c'mon dawg, be real.
If you guys just want to spread misinformation and argue then that's fine but damn g it's pretty easy to search this stuff up if you utilize the power of the information super highway.
>>
>>11692206
MOTU Origins is a split line but it's closer to for collectors than kids because of its price and because it duplicates but improves (in most cases) on the original 80s figures. That is of interest to people who grew up on He-Man. It is admittedly also for MOTU collectors to introduce these characters to their kids too though but the price point on Origins now being almost 20 bucks can tell you it is more for parents who are invested in MOTU and are willing to spend more to spread MOTU to their kids. If it was a real kids line it would need to be closer to $10.

My friend, and you are my friend, I am an old faggot. Toss your buzz words about in a vain attempt to change the goal posts to girls buying action figures all you like, but the proof is more on my side than your side in this discussion. Mattel makes female figures and they sell, go check the previously mentioned information super highway and you'll see that while I refuse to argue with you I'm closer to presenting reality than you are.
Go in peace as I have none.

Oh then it's something from one of the thirty reboots DC has had since new52. Either way the skirt is shit.
The only correct Wonder Woman is the Collector's Edition, but if you're complaining about a $70 set being too expensive there's no way you could swing for a CE.
Since you don't seem to care about how a figure actually looks you should just wait for Mattel's slop, I'm sure there will be a budget-friendly kid's toy you can afford.

Jeez Louise, I knew most of you assholes were not actually DC fans but the other anon is correct, stop talking about the comic books since you obviously have more plastic inside your brain than the average human, and can barely remember how to string sentences together. Rebirth was a soft reset and the Nu52 continuity still exists in it. Think adding Pouchie to The Simpsons or changing the cops on Law and Order, since both of those are likely generational milestones for you, grandpa. The current continuity can be considered a reboot post the Metal shit, but even people who hate Scott Snyder don't all agree on that and DC certainly doesn't officially claim it.
Sigh.

Depends on how they look. Mattel's figures are going to be a hard pass. Right now I'm printing and painting a Chip Hazard from Small Soldiers for a friend, if that goes well we'll do the rest of the Commando Elite. Might pick up a Sgt. Rock and print a different head for him.
When's the next show where Todd announces the rest of the year's figures?

I grew up during the 90s, with TNBA on TV and the black suit in the comics and movies, so that's what I gravitated towards the Year One style black/gray or all black with the yellow oval. It just made more sense and seemed more realistic. As my tastes refined with age, and depictions of Batman pushed for more realism, I've found I'm more partial to blue/gray with the black logo, or black/gray with the yellow oval since it represents when the character was most fun for me. I still have a soft spot for the 90s movie/post-Knightfall suit style though.
Though in terms of toys, I've got a soft spot for Glider Strike Batman. Or any of the figures of that era with the flight packs.

All of you sound like desperate shills.
Mattel made ugly boring shit sometimes when they had the license but McFarlane has made ugly boring shit since.
Whatever else Todd shits out this year is not going to be miraculously better than Zatanna or not reflect re-tooking, repaint and re-use for the upteenth Flash or GL. Mattel looks like they learned more in the last 6-8 years than McFarlane should have in the last 3-4.
But Mattel will, by its very nature, have more unimaginative, boring, reuse, repaint than even Todd.
But thankfully the repaint won't be repetitive fugly jokerized junk. And Mattel's females won't have crotch bulges or be taller than most of the male figures. Or worse, look like a male head with a long-haired wig on.
>>
>>
>>11694154
I don't even buy Todd slop but I'm not getting my hopes up that Mattel is going to be much better than they were in the past. I want them to be better, don't get me wrong, but I'm setting my expectations low so I won't be disappointed.

You realize that from 2008 til 2019, that the DC General rarely ever had a general because nobody gave a shit about Mattel's figures because they were so awful, right?
For the vast majority of the DC Generals, it was mainly DC Direct and Mezco talk. And the One:12 line had its own General for the last half of the 10s.
So the fact we've had nonstop DC Generals since McFarlane Toys took over, does that mean there are that many Todd fans?
Shit, just look at how many DC Generals we had from October til December in 2015. All but one of them centered on DC Direct's stuff. Most of them don't even last longer than 2 weeks (and this is before the automatic self saging limit that happens today).

I don't remember when Mafex started making them and Revoltech definitely wasn't a draw, hence the DC Generals being so rare and rarely ever hitting the post/image limit until everyone was celebrating Mattel losing the DC license in 2019. I think the busiest DC General ever got was for Mezco and DC Direct's TAS lines until WB stripped the license away from MAttel.
Our archive only goes to sometime in last half of 2015 and there's only 18 pages total for DC Generals.
2015 to 2019 is page 15 to 18, and most of page 15 is shitting on Mattel and being excited for Spinmaster and McFarlane's upcoming lines. So in 5 years, there's 15 pages worth of archives thanks to MCFarlane reviving the DC brand on /toy/ vs 3 pages of Mattel's 4 years.
>>11694199
well the post limit keeps getting hit, so who cares. it's not like anyone uses anything beyond page 4. Everything after page 4 is a dead thread, especially since most people forget about the self saging threads that hit the two week limit.

I got into MotU in 2024. I loved origins so much, they hit such a good balance of vintage and new. I hated Masterverse though. New movie toys look like a mixed bag but way better then Masterverse. New kids line is fine for a kids line it depends on the price. I never collected WWE stuff or known anything about Kpop. I miss when Four Horsemen were doing MotU and DC with them but the toys are dated by today's standards and lmao fuck Matty Collector.
I'm sure the new DC toys will be fine. I find it hard to be hyperbolic or dramatic. I could never get into Todd stuff because I dont like his scale. But I also dont collect Marvel Legends or anything either. I was mostly into giant robots/mecha/transformers and some toku/figuarts.

But considering what just hedgehogs from 2packs sell for on ebay (actual recent sales), I expect to get back at least the price of almost 2 DC humans. Bought 2 last winter, Target's Sonic sale (so I essentially got 3 for price of 2).
I'm satisfied with the $65-70 spent, versus maybe a bit more to Gamestop for 2 Zatanna's I didn't even bother open and only did recently to make sure they weren't fucked up.
Rather have those 6 human DCs, even 5" than 2 Zatanna 7+ inchers.
>>11694272
That actually looks fun, for like $5 retail.
They should do that on an animated DCSHG special and just repaint those and offer them to retailers, I bet they would sell out.
>>11694157
Had expectations for Macfarlane's shit based on DC's toy community forum, who had been buying them since they got the license.
Those people were definite Todd shills. First one I bought was Red Son, then Rebirth Bat and Supes, Lex, and I was already unhappy.
Mattel I own like 20, most were given to me. I pretty much hated the sculpt reuse on the heads, and the sameness of the body bucks (see PICREL) but paint was okay.
Not planning on buying much at retail no matter who has license.

while I think it's cool to see DC collab with shit like sonic these figures are 100% not for me. I don't like sonic nor do I like the rebirth based DC figs. But if I was forced to get a fig I'd get Flash.

I generally tend not to listen to most people's opinion on the internet. Too many mouth breathing retards trying to voice their shitty opinions. I wait to from my own consensus. Like when Todd first for the line in 2020. I grabbed a couple of figs to try the line out, and even though I was and still am desperate for a DC equivalent to Marvel Legends, I passed on Todds offerings, outside a few figs here and there, because I just don't like his toys. Simple as. I decided this all on my own without the input of anyone else. This thread was shilling them hard in those first few years and I kept saying they were shit. Lo and behold now you fickle faggots have changed your minds on the line, despite it being the same as it's been since wave fucking one.

Sister, you're being lied to.
They're showing the movie actors, in some photos showing actual boxed toys of their own characters figure, and they got the He-Man actor, holding the tiger and his figure in his actual hands.

There are 3 classic designs but they're secret figures in blind bags which I've never even found in stores around here. (I mean blindbags period) so I gave up trying to find them. I already gave enough to Ebay lately.
There's a no cape bright colored Amy, blue and gray with oval bat shadow, and some flash we havent seen yet.

Nearly a year ago we were arguing about how annoying it is how some anons in this thread get super uppity and pissy about how total strangers buy toys he think are overpriced, despite that being a completely subjective opinion. He tried to argue that $30 or whatever is a lot of money, my retort to that was that I had just spent like $10K building a new patio for my house, and how I could fart away $30 and not even notice it. He proceeded to then meltdown, fail to understand how home ownership in the US works, and then spend the next YEAR sperging out about patios whenever he found himself on the losing side of an argument. It's mostly one guy doing it, there are the occasional tag alongs that will also participate, but it's very clearly one guy sperging out about a complete stranger having the ability to own and do renovations on a home. Not really sure what psychological condition causes this, but he's clearly unhinged, is very self centered, and not really well informed on how the real world operates.
I just think it's crazy that he latched onto such an innoculus post and has been sperging out about it for almost a year straight. Talk about buck broken. If you're curious here's the original exchange, wasn't too hard to find since the last mention of patios on /toy/ prior to this was like a year earlier.

People are complaining about toy prices rising as they typically do on toy boards. One guy even says he can afford the toys but they aren't worth the price and that he waited to get one on sale which you can see above the looney toon below you's post in the link >>11695201. Then a guy some of us took to calling Patty starts bragging about how he did a home renovation where he added a patio to his house so the toy prices are nothing to him. And somehow it got out he was using wood pallets rather than building it out of concrete, stone or brick. So basically he built the patio on the cheap and was bragging like he was a big spender.

Shut up retard. I built my shit with literal concrete, stone, and some wood trimming. The guy constantly blathering about his pallets is the guy who lost his marbles about someone being middle class.
>>
>>11695059
Owning a house that will stay empty because it has no actual roof, is full of broken walls and masonry and that the city leaders would love to take so they can sell it to some idiot for $1 isn't the brag you think it is, Euromutt.
>>
>>
I'm one of the people who has made patio jokes and pallet jokes. Some of you assholes have no sense of humor. If I don't get offended and start insulting anons for calling me out on the fact that I rarely dust or can't pose for shit, you fuckers really need to get over yourselves and stop bitching about everyone being poor and not being able to afford homes, or like the asshole suggesting we need credit checks on another /toys/ thread are just frankly, simply, insane.
Just because I own, not rent, and own and can afford imports, doesn't mean I want to waste my money and overpay. Bezos, Gates, Musk - all those idiots have been rich long enough or have absurd amounts of money that they want to piss some away on something stupid like a cowboy wearing sub-orbital flight, is dumb. Sam Walton is as rich and still lives in a simple house in the middle of nowhere, butt-fuck Kansas or another one of those mid-western states, not some walled, gated rich people's enclave. He still buys his fucking socks in plastic tubes or plastic bags and doesn't just piss away his money even when he has it. That's how some of us were raised.
I am not going to respond to any particular thread because I'm going back to bed like a normal, healthy human being. I'm not wasting more than a few seconds skimming the thread to see what you fuckers felt like melting down or wasting energy on versus talking ACTUAL FUCKING TOYS.
TOYS.
NOT PRICE POINTS.
TOYS.
And you wonder why people avoid this General?

It’s cool, they all have barely functional thigh swivels, which are totally by design and not just an accident of the internal engineering of the figure. Mind the diaper, that will shed a few degrees off too.
>>
>>11696038
>>11696043
they all have thigh cuts. the issue is that the legs are fully sculpted to the top of the hip, which causes it to run into the center crotch assembly and impedes it. once you actually move the legs out of an A-pose, it's very obvious that the swivels are there

This hobby, and this general in particular, is populated by estrogen filled man babies that can't help but get offended at the smallest slight against them. They're worse than teenage girls. I mean just look at the guy spazzing out about patios for a year. Whole board needs to get a fucking grip.
