It’s easier for everyone if you just come right out and say you are gay. She’s cute as fuck.

She's like Snow White and Alba Sue Storm with nothing being wrong with her, but she's wrong for the role.

It’s same color scheme, you are seething over nothing anon. She’s still fine as fuck. The absolute fiend gooner in me imagines popping them boots off and ripping open that crotch area. Not my fault you are gay and lack imagination to make it hot.

she could look a LOT better costume-wise. Camila is a sexy brown but she'll never be pic rel, and that's what we all want.

...and Nicholas Galitzine is a natural blonde? She clearly hit the training regimen with aplomb and from a quick look at youtube clips she suits pulling off Teela's personality type and can easily lend physicality to a performance. Also that body's tight AF not gonna lie.

Anon, it may be true that the toy-look Teela that most fans prefer and and fan-favourite 2002 Teela definitely aren't porcelain white, but when there's a narrative about raceflipping to defend, Filmation is suddenly the DEFINITIVE Teela. Please understand this.

That's literally false, but the plastic used for most, but not all, versions darkened over time.

I'm gonna say true, but only because I don't think they'll ever do all of the vehicles. I still have faith that they can complete the cast of OG figures but I won't be holding my breath for a Dragon Walker (though I'd gladly be wrong)
>>
>>11695335
Hell yeah, I’m honestly more stoked on the budget line. I think the sculpts look pretty good at that price point and the limited articulation has its charm. I imagine they will be easy to nab all figures compared to the “collectors” line. I just hope they don’t limit the smaller scale to JUST movie based figures.

They just could have done alot better. Cheetara, Mumm-Ra, and Battle Cat Man are the only ones that look perfect.

I will laugh my ass off if MotU makes more money than Mandalorian and Grogu but I think everyone underestimates Mandalorian, that will make $1 billion like Stitch because of the green guy. MotU would be lucky to make How to train your Dragon numbers but I see at max $360 million worldwide.

I havent seen any confirmation but it really wouldnt surprise me if they were running circles around the competition. Sonic's been a gangbuster success for them and even outside of the holiday season the figures rarely linger on shelves. The Mario movie line sold really well too. For as much as people dunk on their simpsons collection, it still managed to make it to 5 or 6 waves. That's nothing to turn your nose up at.
>>
>>
>>11696024
Why not? They still won’t be selling at a loss. They won’t 10x their profits but it serves as marketing and an entry point for a whole new generation of consumers. It’s a great business decision especially if they makeup that extra $10 from vehicles and play sets anyone that buys in to the figures will get. I had no interest in getting them but at $10 I’ll be getting some for me and family members.

That's an insane deal for $10. I will at least get He-Man and probably Skeletor if he looks good too.

Adding onto my post >>11695574 I do think it was really cool and felt natural as a cross-over. I was happy with what we got, only that it felt like it had more potential than what we got. Unless there are more figures coming- in that case bring them on!
>>
>>11696024
>>11696033
>Why not?
Correct.
The Superman movie toys, the 6" line were selling from $7.99 to $9.99 at the start. Sure, some people put them out at $19.99 but only impatient fucks paid that.
>>11696037
>then every other toy company is ripping us off
The tariffs from Vietnam have been more stable and certain which has helped the production of anything coming from there. I don't pay enough attention about Origins but I'm sure Mattel is large enough that they were making toys all over.

>The Superman movie toys, the 6" line were selling from $7.99 to $9.99 at the start.

Could also be a case of Origins being slightly upcharged due to selling less numbers, whereas the volume of MOTU Movie toys ordered by stores would be greater in anticipation, then yeah they probable slimmed their margins too.

The new show based in the movie universe will be the children’s toy line in between films. All first ones. Origins exclusive. They have a 8 year plan currently. Chronicles is where you’ll be getting different takes on characters.
Kids get first ones
Collectors get chronicles
Old hats get origins
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11696243
>>11696269
So Origins still lives then. Is that exclusive such as only on Creations or would stuff like Sketchbook still be at Target and maybe Walmart gets a Retro series?
Kind of sucks that modular ends at retail since they still have WWE Superstars and maybe a DC one coming.

They'd have to do a lot more than repaint Snake Mountain to turn it into the prototype version so I doubt it.
>>
>>11696308
If it's a hit, they'd go forward with more projects and we'd see even more product.
If it flops, the brand dies aside from Mattel Creations stuff, and then that'll die once the molds are unusable.
If it's like sonic levels of success it's a bit tougher, I think it'd be the same amount of push for the brand from before the movie was right around the corner, enough to keep it relevant but not too much investment until the next project comes out and then base the future on that's performance

Still kinda bummed about masterverse. I was one of the people who went all in on the line and I am not psyched about a scale change and now being sold the same characters in a slightly smaller scale. I'll pick up the movie figures but if they try to sell me the same characters again outside of that I won't be buying after putting hundreds and hundreds of dollars into masterverse

First Ones are true 5.5" but the waist is higher than on MotU's Filmation collection, which was higher than Origins. You can see how the torso is what makes First Ones smaller.
We'll get Goat Man on those body only.

I have a ton of Masterverse figures but I found myself not opening most of them so they're just sitting in their boxes. Whenever I opened one I always felt the figure was lacking in the articulation department, so in that aspect I'm definitely looking forward to giving Chronicles a go. And then the even worst aspect, Masterverse are a pain to get in Canada, and for whatever reason the waves I've no interest show up as available, then the ones I am interested in like NE Ninjor and NE AE He-Man are just not available at retail. Missing all the figures I actively want is a quick way to lose interest in a line. I'd have to think that distribution will be good with the movie, at least at first.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11696371
Last time movie flopped, franchise took quite a hit. Motu isn't on DC level in the end.
>>11696395
I really doubt First Ones will out the same niche.as Origins. in comparison, if Chronicles finishes movie and starting doing random stuff like Draego-Man or 200X Skeletor, then they're almost the same thing.
>>
>>
With how many MotU figures are on sale , I find it hard to believe Mattel and retail make a profit on this and yet it just keeps going. They must be. Which is a horrific indictment of other companies whose stuff now does not go on sale at all.
>>
>>11696775
I'm willing to believe the reports that most of the movie is spent on eternia, but it's pretty obvious from the trailer that he'll only become He-Man for the last 5 minutes of the movie. You'd think they'd stop doing that kind of thing after it failed with so many other franchises, just look at the 2017 Power Rangers movie that did the exact same thing, what a hit.
>>
>>11696832
>last 5 minutes
He is He Man during the snake mountain fight and he is becoming He Man probably somewhere inside Grayskull because there is a Talon Fighter there. I think he does become He Man in the third act but could be the last 30-40 mins depending on runtime though I guess it will be around 2 hours mark.. That's still enough, I also don't think the Skeletor vs He Man fight is the final battle between them from the movie.
>>
>>11696421
You can tell it’s over, they made Mosquitor to appease Pixel Dan. Otherwise they’d never hear the end of it.
>>11696842
It looks like he transforms to fight Trap Jaw so there’s no need for the secret identity bullshit. Unless he willing transforms back and forth as needed.
This could be my dream movie. No need for Prince Adam and no Orko (fingers crossed).
>>
>>11696851
Orko is in the movie but more as a cameo sequel set up >>11695570
Also Teela is after Adam so they know he is destined to become the He Man
>>
>>
>>11696851
That's something I've loved in modern post-Classics MotU, the virtual abandonment of the secret. It's all been either everyone knows from the start (CGI and apparently the movie) or the secret is let out of the bag early on (Rev, and the DC crossover comics with Thundercats and Injustice)
Only that new Sword of Flaws seems to be regressed back to it and it feels lame after so long of not using it
>>
>>
Anon told you all last night itt
Skeletor attacks at the beginning of the movie looking for prince Adam because he knows he’s heman. This is a Shazam type situation. That’s why he refers to it as his sword in the trailer. There’s also a new prequel series and you can’t have a heman show without heman.

Mattel focus groups after the 2002 toys were on the shelves revealed boys didn't like He-Man because of his lack of clothes.

The new Sword of Flaws is a throwback to vintage/Filmation lore so yeah it went back. Now that it’s an ongoing maybe they’ll grow out of it along the way.
I totally agree it’s so much better without it. It’s alright to have Prince Adam in maybe a chosen one or Sword in the Stone type situation but the sneaking off to a phone booth is played out. Mark Taylor created Prince Adam as an antagonist whose loyalties shifted to who had more gold. When they brought DC into create those comics they just applied Superman to the scenario. Kids like a hero with a secret identity just like their favorite superheroes. Filmation had so many fags working there they added their in the closet baggage to it which ruined it looking back on it.

I don’t even know where to begin Anon. It was all very subtle not like today where they would beat you over the head with it or you’d have PSAs about respecting pronouns or it’s fine for a boy to like another boy. It flew over everyone’s heads but I didn’t pick up on it til after meeting the many gays off He-Man.org at cons or someone like Cracked made fun of screen caps like the one I posted.
There was one where He-Man rode a rocket in a rainbow portal, Bow & Adam on a horse with rainbow ears. The rainbow find the elf. Madam Raz and most of the women Horde feel like drag queen templates. Most of She-Ra’s realm. Man At Arms with Adam and his secrets. Hiding scerets about yourself from your parents. The limp wristed dragon that had Bow wearing a pink dress. Prince Adam’s outfit. The lights during the “transformations” look like sperm. Any male with a mustache. Lord Mask looks like a pride parade outfit. FABULOUS secret powers. I could go on and on. It’s all subtle though so kids probably won’t notice, my generation didn’t til adulthood.
Most of Hollywood was gay but secretive about it. I met an actress who caved and did her first ever nude sex scene in a movie. Someone asked if she was nervous being completely naked with all those crew men around and she was like hell no. Most of them were gay. They were probably afraid to look between my legs as she laughed.
>>
>>11697309
That looks like a pretty nice face sculpt. Almost with it was face plates they were working with though, and there were two different expressions, but what's there looks nice. I'd really like to see reviews of these figures (or have it in-hand, obviously).
>>
>>
>>11696327
>They'd have to do a lot more than repaint Snake Mountain to turn it into the prototype version so I doubt it.
They didn't bother to sculpt a new left side of the clam-shell for Grayskull to match the prototype. It was just a straight up repaint so it's possible they could do the same for Snake Mountain.
>>
>>11697371
No, Spain.
I see that it is on the list for international orders on the main Mattel Creations US site, and now that you mention it, the German site doesn't appear to have international shipping, indeed. So, I guess I shall use Mattel Creations US in the absence of a Mattel Creations España?
>>
>>11697211
>I dont want my sons watching this satanic shit
The worst that'll happen to your kids watching the Filmation series is that they'll become kinder people who respect their parents and don't believe in cheating. It might also throw them a bit at first that Adam's parents actually like each other.
>>
>>
>>11697820
Nah, they only mention local and Scotland; they even exclude North Ireland.
Meanwhile the US site offers me prices in € unlike UK, and they claim that the prices I'm seeing include duties, so, yeah, it looks like I'm supposed to buy from there.

The thing that bothers me about race swaps in this movie is that it makes me at Axel OCs for being such shit. Hold on this will make sense in a second
>raceswapping for diversity whatever it's not new
>but if we had ew characters of different ethnicities we wouldnt need to raceswap old ones
>It could mean we get things that are infinitely more creative like Aztec warriors, samurai, Zulu, luchador wrestlers, mariachi skeletors, egyptian gods, half of these could be cute girls and/or robots for no reason because its MotU
>ok but we need to do the original characters because there are so many of them we dont need new ones and IP recognition wharever
>except in the toys
>but all we get are axel gets to make so many boring shitty OCs like an evil wizard skeletor and a wolf and more snakes.
I like formo toys for doing this shit and even sun man kind of...his lore is so hilariously fucked up lol

Think about it, though-- He-Man ended up replacing Star Wars as the #1 boy's brand in the 80s, and during its last dying breaths, Kenner added the words "Power of the Force" to the Star Wars line, in response to He-Man's "I have the Power!" catch phrase. Then the Star Wars toyline died out for a decade, and as soon as it came back, what did we see? The "Power of the Force" undertitle was still there, and what's more, the characters had all been given Rob Liefeld-inspired redesigns that brought them closer to He-Man. Kenner was convinced nobody wanted Star Wars toys that looked realistic because realistic = whimpy, and they had to convince kids that Star Wars was cool by making them look more over the top and muscular, like MOTU. Obviously MOTU was culturally irrelevant in the mid 90s, but Kenner was still reeling from having been slapped around by the rock n' roll muscle men, and overcorrected. You can see that in Kenner's GI Joe Extreme line, too.
The dumb thing is that it wasn't roided up muscle men that ended up outselling He-Man, it was the more realistically proportioned GI Joe RAH line, and Kenner's own Ghostbusters toyline. I think the industry was utterly confused by the sudden death of Star Wars, and then that was followed by the even more sudden death of MOTU when the animated series got canceled and Mattel failed to keep the core characters like He-Man and Skeletor available, with increasingly lame and outlandish characters being the only thing they were shipping when the line started crashing.
>>
I'm trying to decide if some figures I originally skipped would actually be worth the cost of going back and add to my collection now.
What do you guys generally think of
>Wun-Dar
>Slamurai
>Rokkon
>Kol Darr
>Snake Trooper
Worth pursuing on secondary market, or just let'm go?
>>
>>11698379
It always seems I'm the only guy with love for Kol Darr. He's simple but if you can enjoy a motu KO vibe ...he's excellent. I played with him a lot. And what I mean is that those KO lines always have a hero characters who is obviously just a "legally distinct but worse" version of He-Man. For whatever reason Kol's helmet just elevates him for me.
Wun-Dar is my go to He-Man to fiddle with when I'm sitting at my desk. I gave him a spare half-power sword to play up early unsettled lore vibes.
Snake Trooper is one of the Origins I dislike. This was right around when snakes started to take over the Motu revival and I was just really underwhelmed and didn't feel like his head fit really well into the trooper's armor. It's like he needed a neck or something. Plus Mattel didn't give him the correct weapon. So a lot of little things made this guy a dud for me.
Slamurai. One of the best repaints because its so obvious and simple. Drip personified.

Excellent
>>Slamurai
Ok, the Cannuk card one you can get for $20-25
>>Rokkon
Kinda small. Only if you love Rocks
>>Kol Darr
Only if you're a Filmation completist
>>Snake Trooper
Good figure if you like Snakes
>>

Slamurai is cool. I skipped him and went back later to buy him.
I want Kol Darr so bad, but man the prices are stupid. Still butt hurt about Mattel messing his release up. They should have re-released him later like they did Wun-Dar. Speaking of, I like Wun-Dar too.
>>
>>11698379
It’s tough to recommend some of these since some of them are pricey. Kol-Darr is unique but the most expensive. He’s never been made before and he matches the line compared to the Filmation spin off line. Wundar, Slamurai & the Snake Trooper are historical since 1 was a pretty rare fig and the other 2 never made it back in the 80s. Rokkon is cool but he’s smaller than the rest. The other hand Stonedar is probably coming in the next few months so then you’d have the pair.
All of them are good by me.

vintage Rokkon and Stonedar were shorter than other MOTU figures too
The bigger issue with Rokkon is that they didn't let the paint on his arms cure properly so the elbows stick, enough to break if you don't boil em first
At least Wun-Dar and Rokkon are pretty cheap, Kol-Darr not so much

He's still correct, he didn't even say she was ugly. He should have though, in the sense she is another modern actor/actress that is absolutely nowhere near the requisite star quality for cinema. Fine for the mall or life in general, not good enough for the screen. The movie industry is basically the same as modern wrestling now, no stories and everyone is an indie jobber with absolutely no draw power or charisma.

>>Snake Trooper
>Fuck snakes
Snake Trooper doesn't even make sense as a Snake army builder because he's wearing the Horde symbol
He'd make a lot more sense if he was a unique individual character, not an army builder, and if he was like a self loathing snake man that hates the other snake men and joined the Horde as a traitor...like how Modulok was said to be Skeletor's mook that betrayed him to join the Horde. That sounds like a more fun use of the figure to me.

Mine is with my snake men, it kinda reinforces the theme of the snakes slowly infiltrating the factions of eternia and formulating their return to power.

Preview for issue #4 of the new comic is out and they are going REAL old school with Tri-klops....they're going with the original minicomic characterization of him being a mercenary for hire only working for Skeletor for profit and challenges but with a sense of honor

I’ve heard other stories saying it was actually another color artist that just really liked pink and that is why it’s everywhere in filmation shows. Maybe the colorblind guy just gave him the okay to do it because he couldn’t tell how gay it was.

That's disappointing there are so many 200x characters I wanted and it makes me nostalgic for when I first started collecting toys again as an adult in 2010 and got into Motuc because of it. Hopefully we get some more good shit and 200x nly characters before it ends.

Me either but when I am shopping I enjoy seeing them, even if it just the cross over stuff I lost interest in.
>>11699276
I'm an avid fan of the sketch book stuff and I hate I missed on spikor for cheap, I'm just not that high on the cross over stuff following the TMNT series and how quickly it became a huge pain in the ass again to find figures. I'm likely one of the only ones that still hold sunman in a positive light and while it doesn't count I got into origins after seeing the new day figure from the WWEternia series.
Sorry, I'm rambling but while I might think the thunder cats stuff looks cool it's just not for me.

>I even loved the Transformer ones and am not sure why they were hated so much.
The translation to figure and even characters picked to link up was pretty meh. Still bought extras for parts. People were telling Mattel at the reveal that the character crossovers selection should have been better. MAA/Brawn alone is a go-to.
TMNT x MOTU started well. Too many of the four brothers instead of more characters. TC x MOTU is great for getting Lion-o, Panthro, Cheetara, Tygra with Classic forms. BC Man and repaint Panthor Man is creative. Why repaint Lion-o and Panthro already? Will there be Tygra and Cheetara repaints?
>>
>>
>>11699292
I got the sense Transformers irked alot of people because it wasnt the TF cast translated into the MOTU form factor as much as it was MOTU characters in TF cosplay. From the onset alot of fans were upset they werent getting transforming MOTU vehicles, when they realized Mattel wasnt going the pretenders route either it just stung. I'm still wondering if they'll bother with TF repaints. Nemesis Faker, Cliffjumper at Arms, G2 Skeletron, and Skywarp Scareglow would probably sell well as two pack or four pack exclusives.
>>
>>11699318
I'm honestly surprised they didnt pad out the entirety of Wave 3 with just palette swap recolors. Ofcourse Panthor-Man is just that, but in place of gold Lion-O and silver Panthro they could have covered Bengali and Pumyra (repaints of Tygra and Cheetara respectively). Hell now that I think about it even Lynx-o would have been a pretty easy repaint, he's Panthro with a beard.
>>
>>11699276
I really like Sketchbook releases too. I hope we get more of those. I dont understand why they always clearance.
Also hope for more Filmation Cartoon Collection figures. Feels like we are still scratching the surface.
AND WHERE IS THE PRINCESS ADORA ORIGINS FIGURE, DON'T THINK I FORGOT MATTEL
>>

Has anyone tried to partswap together a crossover chimera yet? If anyone has the parts I suggest a /toy/ voltron of sorts.
>Optimus Prime He-man head + armor
>ToG turtle torso and arms
>Standard Origins waist + Lion-O legs, boots, and belt
>Hellfire-man Guitar and flame sword

>>
>>11699220
So what incentive does anyone not already buying them now have to start buying 200x if Mattel aren't going to finish it? I don't even feel comfortable buying the Mondo fucks because they have no chance of finishing the character roster before I turn 60.
200x gets screwed again.
No point in buying all of the movie figures either since they will probably get distracted due to their ADHD brain and stop making them next year to focus on whatever dumb new crossover they think of.

All you'd need is the new hair piece. Everything else could just be a repainted Cheetara.
>I'd wait on G2 Megs, but Cliffjumper, Thundercracker, and Scurge are my jam
Cliffjumper really is my favorite of the bunch. I cant shake the feeling the decision not to do silver robot faces really tanked the concept for alot of people. All the others are cherries atop the sundae. Scourge/Nemesis Faker and Skywarp especially so. G2 Skeletron I can see being the peg warmer of the bunch but I just thought the colors would work so well. When I get more credits I'll try a Disco Skeletron for laughs.

That's not too bad, there's a lot of axelslop to skip but at least we're not getting 30 sun men and minicomic recolors with 0 new tooling that sit at Walmart for years.
Wraptrap and the other cool ones will come in time.

>>

I saw earlier that there was a rumor that the next 200x wave is Teela, Orko, Merman, and Deluxe Roboto. I just hope Teela comes with her sword, staff, and shield. I feel like all three are pretty important and this line has skimped a bit on accessories.

What >>11697725 said
There are no romantic or sexual things in it at all (well maybe one or two characters getting protective or flirty once in awhile, coughFrostacough). I think its fair for people to see He-Man as a gay icon sort of deal if they want to see that, even though I don't see anything speifically gay about him myself. People will see what they want to see. He's a positive influence in the Filmation cartoons regardless. I don't think there's anything satanic about it. Sure there is the normal magic, sorcery, calling upon Castle Grayskulls for power, etc. but those are all common tropes in fantasy and not specifically satanic though. Evil is still treated as evil and encouraged be stopped while doing good. But you are the parent so you should make that descretion yourself.
>>
>>11697316
>Hiding scerets about yourself from your parents.
Except he doesn't actively hide it from his parents. He told his dad indirectly in an episode and his mom outright told him she knew he was He-Man in one episode. Lying to his parents about it is something Adam tells Sorcereress he doesn't like doing. Most of the shit you're listing wasn't really considered gay in the 80s and most of your examples come from the cartoon aimed at girls. You're looking at things through tainted modern lenses. In the 80s a rainbow was just a rainbow and two men could ride on a horse together without it being gay.

Pixel Dan is a clickbaiting dipshit like every other YouTuber, sticking "REPLACING ORIGINS?!?!" in thumbnail and "ORIGINS DONE?!" as his title only to start the video with "jk i have no real information, lol"
And Anon clearly didn't even watch the video and treats thumbnails as news, or did and is purposely being disingenuous to piss people off.
>>
>>
>>11699220
Piss off with your lies. He makes it clear he's just speculating. I dont even know if movie has enough characters that it would be possible to release as many figures as Origins does, especially year after year until sequel.
>>11699356
They decided that putting big names on shelves would work better (and it kinda did since some people decided to mix skin tones and clothes) than more obscure characters that would either need new tooling or look very off-model.
>>11699499
I'll be honest, I was never under the impression that Cartoon Collection will complete any line-up. Im kinda annoyed we don't have CC Khan because he's the only recurring Evil Warrior we need now for full set but I was never convinced we're getting Zodac, Sorceress, Fisto, Mekaneck, Jitsu, Roboto, Sy-Klone, Moss Man, Rokkon, Stonedar, Modulok, Horde Trooper and Multi-Bot. Just as I didn't expected New Eternia do to all characters.
Movie has some chance of getting all characters...if it's successful.
>>11699675
Sorry to burst your bubble but I dont recall Teela using a sword too much (I think it breaks in second episode) and shield at all in the cartoon so I doubt she'll have them. You'll have to get them from Zoar 2-pack Are they that important even? MEr-Man likes dual wielding, Skeletor pulls out blade to sword-fight He-Man but why Teela Teela would need all those? They're used for similar purposes and she cant wield all of them at once.
>>11699702

Not making Sorceress in CC is just as bulshit as not making Kobra Khan imo
She's one of the three that knows the secret, she's in the opening credits and is in just about every important episode. It's egregious to exclude her.
