>only one company makes sports figures
>the only one that’s made them for almost 30 years
>they’re all statues with 0 poa
>Hasblow revives the Starting Lineup name
>completely fucks it up
>like totally
>and it’s NBA to boot
>no options whatsoever for articulated football players
is there really no demand at all for this? why doesn’t McFarlane make some NFL guys on his shitty DC buck?

Have you seen McFarlane Toys sports figures? It's like 5 bodies repainted according to the team represented.
I see the appeal of action figures in sports gear, it could work.

I dont care for sports, but the companies who made Cletus made sucky toys. Transformers is also doing something, and I'm waiting for Jakks to make Chargin' Chuck

Yeah, I don't see it. The license for this stuff is super expensive which means the figs have to be up there in price. Who is spending 60 dollars on a Bo Nix figure? Not many peeps. Mafex dabbled with Michael Jordan and Lebron and didn't go farther. I am a football fan and a figure collector. I wouldn't get anyone who is not on my team. Don't think there is much of an audience for this.

That does look decent but I care less and less about college ball since Fox raped the PAC-12 and I never gave a fuck about the S-E-C. But I can see the same people who paid a fortune for Johnny Football jerseys or want to celebrate their natty winning (or conference winning) teams, will want these. Fuck, I bet a Tebow doll would still sell gangbusters even today.

Some of the athletes would have high license fees because their agents are whores. A lot of the journeymen athletes, especially in say the NFL on the O-line or D-line, even if they are 'names' - people aren't going to be asking for, much less getting absurd license deals for them.

All a toy maker has to do is make a pitch to the players association in each respective league. The players would probably love to be action figures if they knew it was possible. However, the NBA and NFL and pretty much any other league will pull up to trough and drink deep claiming licensing for their fucking team logos and just the right to NFL/NBA/NHL branding, etc.
