I feel like /ctg/ has a very specific purpose whereas there are figures from Sexy Ice, Snail Shell etc that could find a place there but are acceptable elsewhere. There are a number of Chinese toy companies making transformers or other recognizable IPs that maybe wouldn’t be considered fair game here?

I would just like to have a thread to talk about some releases without having to deal with AI art or people who are upset about diluting a general (both are fine, just not what I want to spend time discussing). I understand that could simply be “A thread about toys!” But I sometimes post there and people have no knowledge of these brands.

I'm mainly saying to contact them because they use a very specific type of plastic (POK) for some of their joints, which is otherwise pretty much never used in toys and I don't know how it reacts to heat or other treatments, so you may want to get as much info as possible before attempting stuff. I've read it's a high-end material but I don't know much about it myself and I wouldn't want you to damage your figure, even more so since it's going to be pretty much impossible to replace at a good price.

Got a question about chinese-made base bodies:
I've got a Wind Toys male body and am considering also buying a Romankey male body since the articulation in the Wind Toys' legs sucks and the hands can't grip well due to being too loose/small to grab things with only a 3mm hole.

So, is it possible to swap the hands of the Romankey onto the Wind Toys body, and is it possible to pop them in half and use the Romankey's hips and legs on the Wind Toys body?

I'm messing around with the new Unkval with no silver bars on like this >>11699193 but with the white helmet....and it looked very familiar to me. Then I realized the white and red centre head with the red and grey body....oh it's Guncannon with no cannons LOL. Now I can't unsee it and really want to put together some shoulder cannons for him. Luckily there are 4 holes on his back but I think I still need a good base piece to have the cannons on instead of attaching directly to the tiny holes. That would look weird.

Man it sucks the face pieces aren't interchangeable. The green visor with the white helmet that's practically Guncannon's head!

I think it looks cool, and it looks to have nice range. It is also very humanoid, but armored. Since it has weapons it feels like it could be a more advanced iteration of the B0 series. Like if Manticora was the big dumb but powerful brute, then this guy has all that power condensed, along with intelligence. The Giveme5 figure makes me think of some Kuuga-esque ancient Kamen Rider, which makes me picture all these other bug monster adjacent ones as his enemies/potential allies. That probably is what they're doing, which makes it odd that Smasher is the first one up. I was always kind of hoping for a green Mantis, which is why I held off on her originally, so hopefully one comes from this (and maybe a little bit reworked, they can surely do better with those wrists). If it is consistent, if a colorway isnt speaking to me it'd be nice to comfortably skip it and hope for something I like more down the line. I really enjoy Smasher, but I've no inclination to get another one. Only thing that could get me to double dip would be new parts, for example new head, new/different weapons, different attachments in place of the current footballer armor.

We already know that it'll at least be on Bombusbee via 'unlimited preorder' until the window closes. They confirmed that in a social media post. Whether it's only there, or elsewhere as well, who knows.

Anaconda ver. looks pretty good but part of me still feels like I should keep holding out for a more neutral colorway. I feel like just a straight black/gray or dark blue would be good but they always add some color, even eliminator had those green and orange areas which I didn’t like.

The red hands on this are odd. I think there should’ve been one more red accent somewhere to match. Also would have been nice if they included some different weapons. While I thought the bright red football scheme was too goofy, I think it fit this smasher body and weapons loadout much more than this green color. Idk I guess I’ll wait for more pics

Probably the Pure Ice Smasher first, then them. Then probably a little detour to those dummies/blanks. Unless they start doing concurrent releases. They've been ramping up quite a bit, so we'll see how they handle their releases. Also I wonder when their aftermarket will settle to still be expensive (as almost all aftermarkets for preorder run items are) but not so exorbitantly so. Eliminator really did a number of their profile.

In my opinion, if they want to do human characters, 80s/90s adult anime syle is the best choice. Not this current day wafiu style everybody does. I think those older designs would fit what Sexy Ice done so far way better. A more gritty and serious tone. Ghost in the shell type of stuff.

I watched all of the movies before moving on to the series and found out pretty quickly that the odd couple dynamic between Naga and Lina was the main thing I liked about Slayers and lost interest before even finishing the first series.
