Unfortunately, there's nothing really exciting to talk about.
Jazwares blew most of their load for the year at toy fair, with a few interesting offerings but who knows when we'll see the stuff on the shelves.
The shelves as they are now are filled with either peg warmers or stuff that kind of sucks (like the current 3 Select figures)
Blokees, we haven't heard a peep of what new stuff they may be doing, if anything.

Jazzwares items barely release now. Most stores dont even get entire waves of items anymore and walmart has mainly gotten old stock from 2 years ago and nothing new.
Target even removed the scizor and mega charizard y figures from their website.

It came out in the files that the Israelis were controlling 4chan for years. People cancelled their subscriptions and everyone else hates the captchas. The facade of anonymity is gone and people don't want to share their identity here. Corporations track your purchases, screentime, political stances, fetishes, and idiolect. The bots and normies were getting out of control before the captchas were a deterrent and now it's a little slower. It's not too bad of a problem for me. I was missing out on releases when the threads were too fast.

>Why is this so dead
MonColle barely makes any new things. They just keep reprinting the same older figures now.
Blokees hasn't had anything new in a while.
Bandai PokePla mostly suck and they insist on using the stupid stickers that ruin figures
Jazwares figures are impossible to find in stores
Keeppley and LCDX haven't had anything new lately.

Kisses me off Blokees dont have the Pokémon license in America. Their stuff is so quality and it scales almost perfectly with Figurearts and Figma trainers. Im kind of hoping more companies adopt Blokees model of having clean cut part you just gotta snap together. I'd love if Bandai did that for Figurearts. Get the price down while giving us effects. Most toys are assembled by wage slaves anyway. Might as well cut them out and pass the savings on to the customer.

Moncolle is boring. Everything is the same size. Charizard as tall as Ditto as tall as Snorlax. They barely make any new figures these days too. Mostly reprints of older figures from years ago and mostly Kanto stuff.

The Japanese prefer Scale World for its scale and beautiful molds that are very faithful to the game. Or Bandai Kids for a very large variety of differents Pokémon at a very low cost.
Moncolle was also very popular there, but I get the impression that it's a little less sought after than it used to be by Japanese collectors.

they are all so good even if the sizing isnt as good as it could be. Thats why I hope the line isn't dead but the silence and shift to single releases for Machamp and Nido are confusing
>>
>>
Those who got Nidoking, are his arms supposed to be the exact same? Mirroring them the claws look slightly off, and I know they fucked up on giving same arms before.
Least the feet had mold codes in them to differentiate.

I'm still holding out hope that we get a high-quality Lickitung figure by Blokees. Imagine all the poses he could make with his tongue.

This one is a weird choice they designed it so he can only sit upright
>>11758013
The instructions lumps duplicate parts together and different parts as 1x
took me a minute to decide which was left and which was right, I think on the outside they're the same but it's the internals how the joints sit that makes them different, the insides are reversed

They arms are identical. The joints just look like that depending on which way they were inserted into the shoulder. Same as every other part of all the Blokees with those type of two-part joints in them.

The size is better than the figuarts at least, they're bigger
They're within the range of "canon" game sizes, charizard is like 5.3, and you can fudge that up to 5.10 if you go on the toes and tripod with the tail
game is 5.8
Figuarts is only 4.6 if you can manage to get the head to stay on

D-arts was truly garbage even when it was new and the only one. To think it took an American company, then Blokees, to actually do Charizard correctly

Gotta disagree, D Arts is way uglier. Only things it has going for it is slightly better scale and better looking fire. Blokees mog both beyond belief though. Pretty much 0 point in getting either of them when the Blokees is avaliable. Also get the Blokees Nidoking. Its fantastic and scales incredibly with figma and figurearts trainers.

my kid (4 yrs old) is just getting into pokemon and i ordered him some toys today - wish I'd seen this thread sooner. I went with a few Jazwares Battle Figures to start him out and see how he likes them. I'm assuming those are the best choice for kids, or is there something better?

They're prize figures, not statues. Like the Cynthia one. Also speaking of, she goes for about $10 on most sites, at least I gog mine for that much. Highest I saw was $20, these will be pretty cheap too likely

I think you misunderstood my post. I didn't say that D-Arts Zard is better than Blokee Zard. I know perfectly well that Blokee is better.
I was saying that D-Arts is better than Select Zard. Because Select Zard looks like an old toy for a 5-year-old. Its joints are very ugly and noticeable, the plastic switches from glossy to matte for no reason, the sculpting and proportions look strange, the hole is ridiculous, the eyes aren't sculpted, and the paint application is sometimes sloppy and so on.
I'm not saying D-Arts is perfect; it has some flaws. But at least it looks like a genuine collector's item, with a clean appearance (for those who own an authentic D-Arts).

>>11760499
Blokee for a 4-year-old? You're crazy.
It can easily fall apart, some pieces can get lost, broken, or even swallowed. Blokee is more like a collector's item.
Give Bandai Kids toys instead; they're inexpensive, very very durable, and offer the largest selection of characters of all the Pokémon toy lines.

As a kid I had a combination of Gen1 Bandai Kids, Tomy minifgures and these pencil top figures that were around the same size. My favorite were the Tomy cause they looked the best. For a kid now I'd get the Jazwares battle figures as they're meant for kids. The Jazwares minifgures are basically the same as modern Moncolle/Tomy figures without the gloss.
