I do believe he's referring to decline in quality in his last point. But if anyone can actually read his tweet for once (unlike some anons here) his point is moreso that Figuarts have become more expensive as time goes on. The early 1.0 Figuarts were made intentionally slim, thin and kinda gangly to keep cost down but once they start becoming bulkier and more more accurate to the proportions seen on screen the prices started increasing compounded by the fact that they're using China factories to produce them which raised the prices even more as time went on. The old Ryuki on the left came with Dragreder and all of the weapons including the shields as a complete package for roughly 50 bucks back in 2013. The new more accurate and better looking Ryuki that came out last year is roughly 100 bucks and the package is slashed in half compared to the 2013 version with Dragreder and the shields being sold separately for roughly 120 bucks or so. True shrinkflation right here even if the newer products are a far better figure than the old one.
Not just Figuarts, other toylines like Figma and Revoltech get hit with increasing prices over time, worse in Figma's case.

More than anything I think they've suffered from bloat. More copies of figures and more figures being produced make for a less tight ship, period. Whether sculpting and engineering have improved enough to offset it is up to taste and preference (and unless you liked DB or KR you probably weren't paying attention to SHF for its first several years anyway). Still, old SHF figures were almost always buttery smooth and fun to handle. They felt like artisanal action figures. They had problems and it was never a mom and pop operation but their growing international ambitions really did come at a cost. The signs were already there by the time Bandai acquired Bluefin, but it was still somewhat portentous. S.H.Figuarts as a label just doesn't signify as much as it did.

Combined with the death of S.I.C. and the shriveling state of Robot Damashii, Tamashii Nations just feels unspirited. That's the tides of industry for you, though. I actually don't blame Bandai for a lot of this.

Honestly all three of the Jojos so far look really bad and cheap to me. If they were like $30-40 figs, that would be fine because that's what they look like. But they are like $110. The sculpting is weird, the joint designs are ugly, the soft goods like Joseph's scarf and Jotaro's lower coat are terrible. But actually, the way they are made is not that dissimilar to something like the One Piece figures let's say which I think look fine. So I'm not sure why the Jojos look so off, it's hard to pinpoint. I think Josuke and Giorno look a little better though but it's probably just due to the design and colors of their costumes.
