She's fat! She's flat! She's a brat!
Kagutsuchi Fencer is here! Did you pick her up? What do you think? Do you like the new parts? Do her expressions fit her body type? Are you excited for the third Kagutsuchi sister in the (hopefully) near future?
Stay tuned for Shizuoka hobby show this weekend!

lmao, my copy has the same status update at the same time. They're probably on the same fuckin' plane/boat/whatever. yeah. would probably have picked one or two up if she was 1/24 because I could always do with more pilots for my hexa gears- and would certainly have got her if she was 1/12 or 1/10- but 1/18 is just this odd middle ground.
>>
>>11780188
>>11780193
It's definitely smaller than usual, but it's only like a head shorter than an HG.
This thing's success makes me wonder if Sheik Mainland (or however you choose to translate that company's name) will lean into more shit like this. Their kits are pretty good.

>>11780175
How are the modular weapons? Is it easy to rearrange the parts between all the modes? I recently got the male versions of those robot catgirls and I'm really linking them a lot but there are a few connections that feel a little bit on the tight side, like the weapons do fit in the holding hands but you got apply a little more force.
For example, for the catgirls they are supposed to have the Uzis that are a long barrel that fits all the way into this core part. Is it easy to take apart?
>>
>>
>>11780203
The guns are easy to assemble and only look a little bit like goofy lego guns. But the pile bunker assembly is basically impossible to put together. The long rod is too tight and it would probably be impossible to take apart afterwards. Which is a shame cause that's a cool weapon archetype.
>>
>>11780193
>1/18 is just this odd middle ground.
it's kinda the same thing their notAC line has:
being cheap af, easy to assemble and you get up to 3 per box, but they're only half the size (around 7.5cm) of a normal HG (15cm)

>Nanoha and Black Rock Shooter
God, yes please. The designs from those series still print fuckin' money, so it's insane nobody ever tried making more than just the Figma and Nendoroids for either (in terms of articulated stuff). I've long since given up on anything like that happening, so I just decided to do customs for everything. I even picked up 3D design so I could print out all the crazier parts for them, like, say, the hands for Black Gold Saw.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11781563
This won't always work, but on the other hand there's literally no other way.
I broke one of my summer hresburger's twintail ball joint by trying to test fit it - it was so tight that I couldn't move it at all. I needed to drill a hole from the back to pull out the broken off ball.
I did repair it in the end.
>>
>>11781594
Holy shit, had exactly the same problem! But drilled the ball instead and pulled it out that way. And when I mentioned it on /m/, I was called "hamburger hands" and generally told it was my fault. Dicks.
>>
>>11781597
I once lurked /m/'s gunpla thread and came to a conclusion that it's only shitposters and people who'll yell at you "it's not a build if you're not doing a full paintjob" thread. I get it is gatekeeping (which is good), but you can get good looking results without committing to full paints.
There was a guy who constantly bragged about his "rare" models that he'll never build, but nowadays everything he had got a reprint lmao.
>>
>>
>>11781546
Insert the peg or ball into its respective hole/slot and try to move it. As a general rule of thumb a joint should offer enough resistance to hold it and its respective limbs/accessories up against gravity, but not enough to resist the force of your hand. If you noticeably have to try and move the joint it's too tight. On the flip side, like in one of the comments following yours, if you have to borderline force a peg/ball into its respective hole/socket, then its automatically too tight- stop trying to put it in, and lightly sand it, then try again. A joint that needs to be forced into place, with very few exceptions, is going to be impossibly tight and realistically immovable once inserted, so solve that problem before then/before breaking it by trying to force it in.

HLJ has been better lately. Bandai stuff will always be a crap shoot of course. It's still taking them 2-4 days after release to charge me for things, and about the same to ship. Which is an improvement over a week plus for either. I'd like to believe that they finally got their new logistics working, but realistically it might be just that they lost a bunch of business and have less in the queue.

>You kind of need to give SW at least 3 episodes
You shouldn't have to sit through 3 episodes for the good stuff, that's just bad direction. When i first saw Fumikane's mecha musume illustrations in 2005 i thought they would make for a great anime but then they made one and it left a bad impression.

Because stuff like this is meant to be used with a topcoat basically 100% of the time. You should never paint anything in the plamo hobby and not topcoat it. So in this case they expect you to matte coat your hair when you're done with it.
>>
>>
>>
>>11782524
Zoomers can't focus on something for more than 5 minutes at a time. How can you expect one to pay attention for three whole episodes? They'd need to take a break every two seconds to pull out a Fidget Spinner or check Twitter or get distracted by some bright, shiny object, and then forget what they were watching anyway.
>>
>>11782318
Most paint are gloss by default due to their physical nature, the paint becomes a smooth layer after fully dry and reflects the light with a glossy look. Semi-gloss and mattle/flat paint are created by adding agents that make the paint surface rough and makes diffuse reflection instead and thus less/not glossy.

Opinions on this kit? I saw it while browsing Ali, and I don't think there's any US-based webstores that still have this in stock. The bat and the twinblade weapon are what caught my attention, I'm wondering if the kit is worth the purchase (it's more expensive on Ali than the previously stocked prices for US stores).
>>
>>11779478
I don't get it either.
That said, the actual cutie honey nova comic has someone else doing the art, and honestly, they suck. Whether they used classic honey or nadare honey, the mangaka's work would still look like shit

I'm looking to dip my toe into 30 Minutes Sisters. As I understand it, the character kits are a full girl, then the options parts are either a body without limbs or a face, different hairstyles, or different color joints.
Any pointers or recommendations as to where I should start?
>>
>>
>>
>>11782643
Just pick whoever you like the most.
Even the old kits had their issues(the neck ball one, mainly) sorta worked out.
Most 30 minute missions/fantasy accessories will work well with 30MS line as they're meant to mix and match together to a certain degree.
>>
>>
File: PXL_20260510_144441984.jpg (892.7 KB)
Also finished this grenade. With only one broken joint! Even after sanding everything down and then building back up with varnish I am still sort of afraid to touch her. That translucent red plastic is absolutely ass.
>>
>>
>>11782643
Like the other Anon, pick whoever you fancy. Fair warning from someone who recently started getting 30ms, some of the kits can be really hard to find, so if you see a kit you want, get it before it's gone.
>>
>>11782643
you can take this as a recommendation, but when I first picked a 30MS, it was Sestieh the tan wolf girl. She kinda has a really nice one-piece suit that has lines running along the length of her body and its quite erotic as it accentuates the boobs.
>>
File: Untitled.png (31.3 KB)

File: options.jpg (1.8 MB)
Already asked /tg/'s /wip/ thread but I think it would be good idea to ask you guys as well.
I can't decide on which variant of "tail" section (or rather just the part to hold her back thrusters) should I go for. While I normally hoard parts like crazy and scratchbuild everything, this time I wanted to use as much existing optional parts as possible (A would require some scratchbuilding to cover the empty sections, for example).
Thanks for opinions.

Actually going through and reading it though, the art isn't hideous. The mechanical design for hurricane honey is pretty good and sort of balances the go-nagai art style.
Plot is razor thin, but there is definitely lots of "plot".
>>
File: More Gii1.jpg (340.6 KB)
Gii again! I posted her base form last week, but now her Wilize Mode is finished. I love this little gremlin (even though she stabbed me about 20 times while building her) - her big wings are pretty fun to pose and play around with. It's interesting that, unlike previous Arcanadea characters, you have to basically disassemble and reassemble her entire lower torso to transform her. The long twintails are cute, but I kinda wish they'd just given her long hair; it probably would have made positioning her wings a bit more difficult, though.
>>
File: More Gii2.jpg (365.2 KB)
>>11783346
The "energy claws" are really cool; she can also swing her wings around and use their "fingers" as even bigger sets of claws a la Valstrax from the Monster Hunter franchise, so there's that. She also has a big, purple fireball that she can "spit", though it only attaches to a specific faceplate of hers.
>>
File: Gii and her mommy.jpg (373.9 KB)
>>11783347
One more - while I really like that she came with energy effects, I wish she had even more that could be clipped onto her wingtips so she'd resemble her clear inspiration even more, though that may have been a bit too on-the-nose. Maybe I can find some of those Tamashii flame effects in purple that'll work...
Either way, she's definitely my favorite gal of the line so far; so glad I managed to get her.
>>
>>11783346
Glad you enjoyed her, anon. Gii is easily one of the better girlpla out there. Shame so many people seem to have missed out on her due to how quickly she flew off the shelves. Also, as an aside, the "energy" claws are supposed to be fire as well, just like the fireball shot.
>>
>>
>>
>>11783348
I strongly believe her wings are valstrax inspired but I'm unaware if other sources of media have wyverns with wings like that. The arcanadea line really stands out as unique and a break from mecha musume traditional girlpla (I still like them but it's a nice variety)

Turns out i bought the two biggest bitches, no wonder i got spitroasted by DHL and customs, better than have them stolen by a chinaman or korean or stuck in customs forever (2 months and waiting). What i wonder what's with Izumo, her art doesn't look like much more than Kongo, i doubt Koto packed Kongo's arsenal in here as bonus I'll find out when i build her next Saturday.

So, how does this work exactly? Thirteen days to cross the Pacific is too fast for a cargo ship and too slow for an airplane. And there can't possibly be enough working roads in fucking Siberia to haul that shit to Kamchatka and then cross over to Alaska. Does it just sit on the tarmac for like a week until the next cheapest convenient plane flies it into LA?

>Does it just sit on the tarmac for like a week until the next cheapest convenient plane flies it into LA?
Cargo is sorted by priority, the less you pay the lower your parcel is in the last pallet on the last dollie, if for some reason the ground handling monkeys run out of space your parcel will be left for the next flight. That's for narrow body aircraft, for wide body aircraft it's kinda the same cue but once it's in the pallet it's not being left on the ground.

Well, maybe Bandai is still afraid to make model kits of males in the 30ML brand right now, and 30MF is their only exception because of Samurai Troopers. Then again, a Giroro version of the Powered Natsumi armor... Interesting move.
Say, if Metamor-Verse somehow doesn't implode in and of itself after Fiona and Zeke gets released (as in, immediately getting cancelled because nobody is buying their starting push in Kiriyama/Blade Liger), what character from a Takara Tomy property do you even want to see? While many would still agree to a Shinkalion Miku or different versions of Multi from Beyblade X with armor based on each of her main Beys (Wizard and Knight), if it's Zoids, they only have Kotona as their only main option in comparison to Leena from New Century/Zero and Sally from Wild Zero, being the "main draw" female characters in the franchise.

>>
>>11785096
I went over this when she was first revealed, but I'll repeat a simplified version,
Frame arms Rayfalx is an "Antified" Zelfikar powered up significantly. The Frame arms girl version adapts that into is an older Baselard, but designed by
Komatsu instead of Fumikane, since Komatsu designed the other Ant girls like Hres and Durga.

Yes, I know that - but Zelfikar itself is an upgraded Baselard, which means that Rayfalx is...a powered up Baselard. Regardless, she's definitely not a Materia upgrade - Materia, Innocentia, and Laetitia have no direct Frame Arms equivalent, being a stripped-down Architects (which themselves are already supposed to be stripped-down frames).

In the weirdo combine Kotobukiya world, Megalomaria is a tokusatsu show, and Hexa Gear is a video game, and this is them collaborating in the Megalomaria show.
You can just use this Sana as a stand in for the chibi version with all your Hexa Red-painted Hexa Gear kits.

Little thing I recently discovered with Suruga-ya and maybe there are people here that don't know about this yet so - apparently if kit name is entered in Japanese rather than English, there is a higher chance it will actually be found. I noticed that some Kotobukiya or Bandai kits that were not showing normally were actually found when I instead entered same name but in Japanese. Like entering just "M.S.G" shows 31 items but entering "モデリングサポートグッズ" showed much, much more.
Again, most of you probably already knows about this but maybe it will help someone.
>>
>>11785450
I think that might be because Suruga-ya's global site uses machine translation, so the English name of a listing might come out different than it should be.
Same goes for browsing YAJ/Mercari via proxy, entering the Japanese name is usually better.

I'm aiming to get a body for each of the heads in the Idolmaster Shiny Colors 30MS option kits. I'm trying to get approximately the right body for each one, looking at releases so far I think I just need to stick to Beyond The Blue Sky Body 1s for most everyone and only need to get Beyond The Blue Sky Body 2s for a handful of them; Chiyuki, Sakuya, Natsuha, Hinana and perhaps Mikoto if they get that far. Anyone else not currently released would either use Body 1 or have their own kit. Does that sound right to you?

Who asked for this? Have figma just gotten so shitty no one wants to buy them anymore? Is there enough profit in offloading assembly to the customer that potentially lower sales are worth it? Are there just way more otaku Japanese modelers than I'm imagining? This just seems like an odd choice.

>Is there enough profit in offloading assembly to the customer that potentially lower sales are worth it?
from a economic point, it's way cheaper for them to sell the unassembled figure as a kit and just tell the public to go ahead and put it together themselves, saves them a lot of potential money they could be paying people to assemble and painting fine details on each one.
also, to enter the girlpla market with some recognizable IPs they know are going to bring the filthy gaijinbux to their pockets. Haruhi is self explanatory, Kancolle is still holding strong enough in japan and the quints are getting more content this year.
I bet they're definitely doing this shit because their latest figmas aren't selling well, plus all the issues they still haven't fixed like joints breaking at the slightest movement.
>>
>>
>>11785778
> Have figma just gotten so shitty no one wants to buy them anymore?
Yes
>Is there enough profit in offloading assembly to the customer that potentially lower sales are worth it?
Do you really need to be told disassembled figures and disassembled model kits are completely different? There is a case a company actually offloading assembly to customers and that would be Blokees Miku but they stoppedd doing it because they realised they can charge more money for a fully assembled Miku

Probably based off this artwork. I mentioned a few threads ago she has a number of alternate outfits used for various artwork and statues if they didn't want to make a nude body but they seem committed to swimsuits whenever possible.
I think I might have preferred the bunnygirl or cowgirl outfit, but we're starved for Holo figs that aren't statueshit so I'll take it.
I'm glad the chest isn't overly large.
>>
>>11786768
It's almost comical - the one girl who's canonically a nudist is the one they stuck in the kind of swimsuit that shows off the LEAST amount of skin. I mean, if they were really committed to not actually making her naked, they could have at least stuck her in a bikini of some sort.
But like you said, it's based off of a (noncanon) artwork, and at least they got the tits (relatively) right instead of inflating them to comical proportions. Still a bit bummed, though - seeing her in a modern outfit just doesn't feel right.
>>
>>11786798
Realistically we were never going to get a nude figure, since Kadopla isn't an R18 line. Even if we did, they'd likely give it barbie doll anatomy. If it were a copycat figure from a lewd Chinese line, then sure, but not here.
Also I wouldn't describe Holo as a nudist. She's not shy about it, but aside from a small handful of scenes she spends most of her screentime dressed very modestly. It's why I specifically suggested the promotional artwork for something that shows off more skin regardless of it being noncanon; the only other outfit she wears in the anime is the blue dress you see on the recent figma. But then you'd have the same issue as the figma where it's basically a traffic cone.

It's so weird calling the NSG "ant" by that point.
Then again, the story per the manual is weird too.
>zelfikar/ne got blown up while carrying a bunch of crystal weapons and mysteriously turned into mech Jesus that shut down everyone else, went and took out the system controlling the NSG, then fucked off and "died", being found later adrift in space without its pilot, deactivated, and nobody could reactivate it regardless of what they tried

Your Meteor is in the same shipment batch mine is. Unfortunately, packages shipped via Ali's Oversized Goods method are largely left up to the decision making process of "we'll get to it when we get to it" at any given facility. So it's completely random when it gets shipped to the next leg of the journey. It's actually more common than not for each leg of this method's journey to take 2 weeks at a time than it is for them to move along at a steady pace.
