Target will not ship or deliver a sketch book man e faces I'm too close and they want me to pick it up BUT my POS beater needs an alignment so I'm not going over an hr round trip for a toy.

My headcanon for Wun-Dar is that Adam looks exactly like a blond version of him because he fathered Miro on the queen reigning at Eternos Palace before becoming a Cosmic Enforcer. So I'm pleased with this.

Not any of the people you are arguing with and I think there is a time and place for what you are talking about, like the person who was asking about MOTU lore in the last thread or asking about Roger Sweet and/or the MOTU documentary (both of which are definitely toy adjacent), but this isn't a general about MOTU but a "toys from the master of the universe collections general."

Billy Mays here, and I'm going to show you how to be a successful MOTU simp on 4chan.
First, only respond to pictures and comments about MOTU products that are currently available at retail or products that are coming soon.
Second, only comment in a positive way that doesn't shed a negative light on the company.
Finally, kindly FUCK OFF!

Please refer all questions about thread specific /motu/ lore to the appropriate thread on /qa/. This includes but is not limited to questions about samefags, shills, discord trannies, Pixel Daniel and that fag who doesnt stop talking about his kids.
Also no posting Motu media unless it is considered "whimsical" and is currently in print and on sale at Amazon.
Can I get a "thank you Daddy Mattel"?

this is a good question. Sorceress is picrel so... it could be Fisto. There's not enough melanin for her to be Duncan's.

I just got my Regal Rewards email wanting me to buy tickets today for next month, to earn an extra 1000 points. They showed off all the actual promotion stuff and you CAN get Skelly's throne, plus it lights up.
I'm sure that beats a fuzzy loincloth?
>>
>>
>>11781345
There’s no way they’ll do fisto like the 200x series because Duncan isn’t his brother in the movie obviously. The only logical thing to do is make skeletor the father and have him not know. Hell I bet only sorceress and somehow Lyn know the truth.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11781351
In case you couldn't tell by my post, I'm a pervert and would actually prefer the loincloth.
>extra butter please
But good feng shui to keep demonic stuff out of your room. I'm not even shit posting. A couple years ago we took down the TV off the wall and sleep much better.
Side note...just rambling now. But last year I was a customers house for a service call and they had this giant, wall sized fleece blanket of Art the Clown hanging on the wall, opposite the front door so Art's face and a bunch of bloody weapons right there when you walk in. I try not to be judgemental but immediately was judging them for wanting such a grotesque image displayed prominently.
>>
>>
>>
>>11781372
>>11781360
I guess? But this is Adam's story. Hence why Skeletor should be his brother, or father. Uncle? not so much... But really my money is on none of this being touched on at all in the movie.

spoiler alert, but if you go back and watch 200X Duncan is very clearly the wounded warrior who "married" the Sorceress and then dips out once she's knocked up. the idea is that he was amnesiac/she erased his memories(?) and Fisto really may have been a deserter.

Threw out like 98% of MOTU while claiming to be a direct sequel, frequently nonsensical writing and largely uninteresting good guys in a series established upon very wacky heroes. The animation is better than filmation's in a very "we outsourced this to anime studios" sort of way but it lacks the sovl of the original cartoon.
>>
I don't know if its Fisto or Duncan after looking it up I only get posts about people saying the showrunners said it was a redherring. But its really weird they had a red herring and I liked Fisto as her dad for some reason. Maybe because Duncan was already her adopted dad already. Fisto is cool and he already had to fight against his retarded assed name and Kevin Smith and it kind of gave him something oh well.
I rewatched it recently so its still fresh in my mind and I care about it a lot for some reason. It was a pretty good show. Mattel havent really done any toy I wanted to buy yet for some reason though. Maybe im just burnt out or the OG toys just looked so much sharper or something. I don't see many people post them here either I hope it does well to get some of the characters Id buy... like Fisto. I really like Fisto.

I'll be honest, I don't want Duncan to be Teela's biological parent. It feels like saying shitting on adoptive parents by saying they'll never be real mom's and dads without that genetic connection.

They sell this stuff on-line but some of it is "theater only" exclusive - right now, these aren't listed, but neither are the popcorn buckets and those do get put online for sale:
https://shop.cinemark.com/collections/masters-of-the-universe
That said, you can just pop-in to a theater while you are at a mall or just nearby and pay for merch without having an actual ticket, because waiting till the movie actually opens for something might mean you don't get it. I learned that the hard way last summer.

I still want the Frazetta girl clinging to King Hiss's leg to NOT be Lady Slither. She was clearly barefoot with short bracelets and cloth bikini bottoms with a belt of metal discs, not a reuse of Teela's legs and arms with a distaff version of the standard fur loincloth.
And King Hiss being a reverse furry who's attracted to human women while wearing a skinsuit is just funny.
>>
>>11781675
>King Hiss being a reverse furry who's attracted to human women while wearing a skinsuit is just funny
this, absolutely. we see him with what can easily be assumed is a human woman sex slave in the minicomics. a barefoot origins female would also make me coom.

Got rained out of work today so I went out looking for figs, hit about 8 stores. 2 Targets just Origins Spikors, one had no Chronicles, the other had 2 Tri-Klops. Shelf full of Battle Cats at both.
Hit 6 Walmarts, found only Chronicles Trap Jaw, but every store had multiples of Tri Klops and Man At Arms, one store must have had 6 of each. Hmmmmm
It’s weird, MAA is usually really popular, you can’t find his Masterverse anywhere but yet here’s a ton of him. Tri-Klops was on of the most sought after expensive Origins til his rerelease, yet I saw a ton of them backing up already. I wonder what happened. It’s almost like I’ve noticed a pattern forming but why are these 2 pegwarming hard already. Can’t put my finger on it.

It's been forty years. I recognize they must update things to appeal to new audiences. That said, I really miss the cartoon bug face of the original Fright Flyer. The bisected dome, the grasping mandibles, that doofy ass satilite in the back and the even tinier motor somehow powering the whole thing. It's just a much more charming design. This new one just looks like a repainted ornitopter out of the new Dune films

What's the generally accepted explanation for King Grayskull, if there is one? Was he just born with demigod levels of power and then passed it down through the sword, was he gifted tge power and then passed it down, or is he just one of the dudes in the chain and happens to be more celebrated? Was Castle Grayskull his place and then carried his name after he crooked, or what? As far as I know, the 200x cartoon is still the only real lore for him other than card back bios.

>>11782863
I actually have no idea now. I guess it depends on if you accept Scott lore where he was the second(?) to weild the power sword or if you wanna go by 200X where he seemingly gathered/channeled all that power himself- passing it and his spirit down through the sword?

I really like posing my toys ... and you won't be able to do that with core since they have no ankles. but they're 10 dollars. so if you don't want to pay 20 for origins or 30 for chronicles, there ya go.
>>
>>11783587
Core is a waste of time. Origins is more appealing to kids, has better articulation and has more play ability due to part swapping. If they really wanted to appeal to kids, then they would reduce the price of Origins.
If they can sell Core or $10, then Origins should be no more than $12-13.
But truth be told, Core isn't meant for kids, it's meant to replace Origins. Core is cheap now, but only until collectors adopt it, then they'll raise the price.

A cyborg snakeman could be cool honestly. Semi-related, I still think they should do snakemen in the sequel to the coming MOTU movie (assuming it succeeds at the box office). Then you can cover the cosmic enforcers and the horde in a potential third installment.

>Then you can cover the cosmic
This would open up the idea of the Mattel Cinematic Universe. Live action Street Sharks, Mighty Max, Hot Wheels: But its just Fast and Furious Again, Poly Pocket, Barbie 2. He-Man and friends would cross over to those universe and the Origins line will get new characters in the line thus ensuring Origins will be on store pegs for all eternity.
>>
>>11783937
Ideally I would segregate the boy brands from the girl's brands. If we have to do Mattel Smash Bros, then I'd rather see MOTU, Street Sharks, and Mighty Max mingle with the likes of Max Steel, Big Jim, Hot Wheels, Pulsar, and Matt Mason over Monster High or Barbie. Honestly I've thought this over alot, I even have a whole script in mind for a MOTU movie that'd play into that.

So I'll be honest, I'm not a hardcore fan, my main exposure to MOTU was the 200X cartoon as a kid (which was great, I really should rewatch it) but spurred by the movie trailer looking really quite good and the fact he was available on Amazon I bought Chronicles Skeletor.
Holy shit what a figure.
>Balljoints for the butterfly shoulders
>Proper universal wrists
>Ankle swivels as well as boot cuts
>Dropdown hips
>Triple neck (balljoint going into the neck from the chest and then the head is attached via a double-balljoint)
>Chest and waist balljoints can slide out/extend slightly to give better range for extreme poses
>ARTICULATED JAW
I think I have like, 3 complaints.
>1: He doesn't have an actual thigh swivel, though to be fair the balljoint is cut in such a way that combined with the dropdown hips you do get a sort of faux-swivel and it works surprisingly well.
>2: The hands are kinda a bitch to swap.
>3: I wish he had more hands.
That aside he's absolutely god-tier. Goddamn Mattel cooked.
>>
>>11784463
For some reason taking a picture of him in your back yard mads me picture him grilling one bbq for all the evil warriors.
I only bought Trapjaw for now but I bought him online and the wait is killing me
>>
>>11783686
Fuck, I just realised I accidentally missed Grizzlor and Leech.
We dont have those either thought Filmation versions do work pretty well.
On that note every non-vintage NE figure: LOP Beast Man, Alcala Skeletor with Bone Throne, Vykron, Skelecon, Keldor, Despara, Anti-Eternia He-Man.
From pets we only have Panthor.
>>
>>
>>11784364
Soon I hope. Super Friends × MOTU would be really fun.
>>11784145
>Triklops
Man I didnt even realize that flub last night. Long days.
>>
>>11784463
A step back from Masterverse.
>smaller
>hands suck (less range of motion)
>no thigh swivel
>butterfly is useless due to bulky muscles
>hip joints are too loose
>costs more
>more articulation, but less poseable
The only thing Chronicles has over Masterverse is hype!
>>
>>

>>11784516
It seems that the "can't have 2 white guys on screen at the same time" rule is still in effect.
Moss Man - it's nice to see Lou Ferrigno again.
Ram Man - If you're going to cast an Asian guy as RamMan, then at least hire a Sumo wrestler.
>>
>>
>>11784565
Chink ram-man still annoys the fuck out of me because Slamurai was right there. If we have to hamfist the BK kids club representation atleast use the characters with said representation baked in. Hell now that I think about it they could have just cast this guy as Jitsu too. Masterverse made a hero of him just a few years ago.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11784612
I suspect it probably has something to do with the DC and Tmnt licenses; they know no one is going to buy those lines if they don’t step their game up. This is just a preview. Real question is if they’re gonna apply these kind of joints to WWE too.
>>
>>11784516
>>11784533

How do you think she'll measure up to Rev's attempt to make Andra happen?
>>
>>11784611
Anon... Do you really think the one chink they cast for the film is gonna be a ninja...?
>>11784654
I've accepted Andra, I don't have a problem adding Dian so long as they can give her a fairly unique role on the heroic warriors side...
>>
>>
>>11784619
Chronicles looks more like an adult collectable (more realistic), whereas Masterverse looks more like a toy.
I prefer my toys to look like toys. Realistic adult collectables that are meant to sit on a shelf are boring.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11784623
Last I heard the WWE designers were pulling double duty on DC. I guess time will tell if chronicles engineering spreads to the other lines. I wouldnt be surprised if Matty turtles used a similar design language.
>>11784679
They're on an alien planet. Just make the asian a ninja. Hasbro was forced to do the same to Snake Eyes despite the racial connotations there. Slamurai is arguably less offensive.

Everybody regardless of political affiliation, sex, etc is shitting all over the film. Even their BK stunt pissed people off because the collector cups they were offering were made of aluminum instead of glass like they used to be. The BK toys (if you can even call them that) look pretty shit too. It's kind of amazing to watch eveyone unite to dump on that movie.

Went to a big local comic chain today seeing if they had any MOTU before the movie. They don't even stock the stuff. I keep hearing about how these Core figures are such a great deal at $10, but I'd like to inform you that Jakks Pacific released this Sega Shinobi figure with double hinged elbows and knees, ankle articulation, ab crunch, butterfly joints and toe articulation for $9.99. They're listed as 4 inch figures, but they're actually 5 inches.
Jakks also had to pay Sega licensing fees. But even with all that, they were able to sell them for $10.
Makes you wonder why we have to settle for such limited articulation with motu figures.
>>
>>
>>
>>
>>11786443
Well you got me there. I will however make the case that Mattel should settle on an official color scheme for He-man. Silver, burgundy, and orange is my favorite but anytime they modernize him they always stick in him silver and black bodysuits.
>>
>>11786539
Comparing any company to Jakks at this point is almoat unfair because they've been wiping the floor with the competition for about a decade straight now. Ever since they got Sonic and Mario they more or less became industry leader. Even their DC figures mog the other 5.5. lines on the market. They're playing to win by appealing to tight wallets, kids, and collectors.

>Hasbro introduced a toy in 1962 called “Flubber” (tied to the movie Son of Flubber). It was made from synthetic rubber and mineral oil. It had all of the qualities one would want from a toy. It was fun, unusual, inexpensive, and versatile
>It also made kids sick. One of the first rules of product design is to try not to kill off the primary users. Unfortunately, Flubber was made of toxic substances that caused sore throats, rashes, and other nasty reactions
>By the time Hasbro decided to pull the product off the shelves, more than 1,600 people reported ailments associated with Flubber. This led to a whole new problem: what to do with tons of toxic toys?
>The solution was to bury the unwanted inventory under a building on Delta Drive in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Residents maintain that on hot summer days, the smell is still evident, and Flubber can be seen oozing through the cracks in the pavement

disagree, since classics had a lot of stinkers.(standor, spector, 200X randos,) I'd rather they just make as much as possible. There's still plenty of CC left to do, minicomics, but all of that is secondary to my beloved sketchbook series.

If you make "remake Classics" your criteria, you might as well give up right now because it's pretty damn obvious that's not gonna happen.
We've seen what they prioritize over the last 6 years...creative new was to make the same vintage guys over and over and kitbashed OCs they came up with just last night to reuse the existing parts library, with an occasional fan fav sprinkled in once in a blue moon.
Personally, I don't give a shit what Classics did or didn't do, I just want characters I like.

If you're lucky you can still find some of the super7 5.5 figures at ROSS. Vintage MOTU figs are also plentiful, cheap, and abundant granted you're willing to clean them up. I've hesitated to mention this but just looking up "90's action figure lot" on ebay and filtering for lowest price nets alot of bootleg MOTU results. Sungold Troll Warriors, various bootleg wrestlers, etc all for 8 to 15 bucks.

I’m trying to remember, I think it was the first wave of those Funko Savage DC figures that had problems. This post stirs up some memories, I remember during the vintage days riding my bike up to a drugstore called Little Bucky’s and for around $6 I could buy 2 MOTU type figures to add to the ranks. It was a lot of the Remco ones like Warrior Beasts or the Warlord series. A cool looking monster guy with gnarly head. K-Mart on the other side of town had the Sun Man guys and there was this little family owned meat market that was around since the 40s had stuff like the Galaxy Warriors. We had it so good back then!

>I think it was the first wave of those Funko Savage DC figures that had problems.
It affected all of the Savage lines. DC, MK, SF, Horror, and the earlier Son of Zorn. Some figures were fine and some would break easily.
Batcave is a must own
