Relatively on-model minun has been a nightmare for me before. Like harder to make work than full-bodied, posing humanoids. It's so fucking weird. You really do see every little imperfection when there's not much going on. I find the head to be the worst part.
What's worse is there's really no "official" on-model look across the animes and the games. They're all built different and some of them don't even have feet. The current 3D model definitely doesn't help either with its little unbendable stick arms.
Overall, wretched creature. 9/10.

im maybe not the best guy to listen to since i don't bother to be onmodel or anything, but you shouldn't worry so much about proportions. you intend to draw a lil guy, you draw with that intention, you give a big ol head, congrats you did it. that being said I'd give this cute minun you did a bigger head, but it's ultimately fine the way it is
what you should worry about first and foremost is having wonderful shapes, a grasp on perspective, strengthening your artistic eye and then you can draw whatever little creature you want
but as an important tip, their heads should be more of an oval, with the eyes far apart. that goes for anything you're trying to maximaze the cuteness of

It's desperation on their hands, tf2 just floats indefinitely because of its virtual market's keys/economy.
valve can bomb the next glorified tf2 workshop update and it'll still rake in cash because of the other games they've got, if anything I'd say that's what they see their games as, markets, not games.

Might also have something to do with how a human being instinctively knows, at least a little bit, how humanoids can move if they think about it. Most people don't have experience being a tiny freak of nature so envisioning poses pulls from imagination rather than experience. It'd be a lot easier if there were better reference material but I'd have a better shot at applying for a job at TPC and asking Sugimori himself to mentor me than waiting for them to publicly release extensive ref sheets for all their designs.

The note about focusing on shapes and perspective is really helpful. Same with the tip on head shape which I'm trying to incorporate here. I drew Minun once or twice before that one and the head feeling too small was an issue. With the one I posted, the issue was the head being too big to imagine that pose in. I knew if I wanted to have her rubbing her eye AND have a massive head, I'd have to exaggerate the pose a lot and I wasn't ready for it. End goal here is to reach a point where I can disregard the anatomy bottleneck and draw unique poses with these stubby limbs.

Didn't have time for a full drawing so all I have are unfinished 15 minute sketches. Looking at Minun for long enough makes me wanna flick it away like a bug
