For the maple syrup people here, I'm thinking about moving to Canada (will start applying for jobs this year). I already have few years of experience.

What should I expect there? Is it a nice country? Hows life there?

Hows life compared from province to province?

Is it like the UK on steroids and Timmies or a completely different place? I'm a Turkish guy who did in fact live in the United Kingdom.

Life is usually quite different from province to province, and even within a province itself everything from the climate to the population and culture & language can be different.
For context, there's enough space in Canada to fit the entirety of the UK 40 times over
>>
>>2849713
If you want a boring, freezing shithole by all means come here.
>>2849727
>everything from the climate to the population and culture & language can be different.
Yeah its great, one portion of a city speaks hindi and the other portion speaks punjabi
>>
>>2849713
Expect everything to be expensive and that nobody wants you here.
>>
yeah it's fine. A bit too expensive for what it is but that's most western countries
>>
>>2849741
Why though? Why expect no one wants me?
>>
>>2849790
Our government let way too many immigrants into the country in the last decade and it is dramatically changing our culture and putting strain on our social services and the job market.
>>
>>2849790
the mood is pretty grim right now, the country is going through a difficult period
>>
>>2849713
Place is full of retarded wannabe amerifags and has very weak links to the uk
>>
>>2849869
I already have job experience plus university degree. And for culture, it's something that always absorbs something from the land or from the newcomers. That's why Turkish cuisine is so large!
>>
>>2849884
I'm looking at management level jobs, considering my experience level.
>>
>>2849790
>Why though? Why expect no one wants me?

Have you been living under a rock for the past year?
>>
I thought Canada was suppose to be the good version of what America could have been...
>>
>>2852204
You should really keep up with the news if you're thinking about moving somewhere. We're in the middle of a very serious trade war with America over their threats to annex us. There's a good chance we become the next Taiwan or Ukraine. Everyone here is worried and the economy is likely about to go into another recession. On top of this our countries been getting flooded with immigrants and they're turning the place into a third world shit hole. So yeah not only is the country not looking that great but anti-immigration sentiments are reaching all time highs that no one ever thought could be possible a decade ago.

I can't really think of somewhere worse to move to right now. We're stuck here and have to deal with it; but why would you as someone abroad, willingly move to a place where the sentiment towards immigrants is getting worse every day and there's the looming chance of extreme economic hardship or even military annexation in the near future.
>>
>>2852201
opposite. I've been following closely. I was even wondering who'll win. Poilievre or Carney.

>>2852233
on the bright side: immigrants can be very entrepreneurial. I want to launch my own company there.
>>
>>2849903
>full of wannabe Americans
lmao wut? As an American the one value or trait all Canadians seem to possess is to tell people how 'un-American' they are.
>>
>>2852233
If any Canadian thought the annexation threats were serious you have a freezing temperature IQ. Sorry. Perhaps you should worry about not being a province of China instead.
>>
>>2852710
Quoi?
>>2852712
Neither is likely but we have a renegade independence movement in the West that seems set on becoming a US state.
>>
>>2849713
If you're still coming to Canada don't even think of setting foot into Brampton.
I just came back from shithole and holy fuck, how does a place like that even exist? its unironically India 2.0. It even SMELLS like India. When I got back home from that shithole i literally broke down in tears and was glad i even came back home alive, now i'm completely blackpilled (or more like BROWNpilled) about the situation, how does any non-Indian person live there without becoming suicidal? Damn
>>
>>2849713
Avoid engl*sh canada. It is full of uppity angloid negros who will hate you for not being a lgbtq+ pedophile communist.
>>
>>2849713 >>2849790
>I'm a Turkish guy
>Why expect no one wants me?
the answer is in the question anon
>>2852240
>I want to launch my own company there.
i think canada probably already has enough vape shops, mobile phone accessories shops, barbers, kebab shops and other fronts for money laundering and people trafficking
>>
>>2852240
>I want to launch my own company there.
I think you underestimate how poor the economy is right now. It is only going to get worse. Everything is ridiculously expensive. If you do not already have a significant amount of capital before coming here, you will suffer. Even so, your business could easily fail because everyone's money is being sucked into just feeding and housing themselves with hardly any disposable income. I am currently trying to leave and I know other people currently working on leaving as well. I really feel bad for anyone who is stuck here.

Assuming that I'll open a shop. It's pretty bold of you to assume that.

I want to focus on tech and media desu.
>>
>>2855214
>>2856711
Think of Mike Lazaridis of BlackBerry. He's born in Türkiye. He's a Turkish of Greek origin. So don't confuse me with a shop founder. Turks do wonders in North American continent like Chobani, Comodo AV and BlackBerry.

>make thread about moving to a rapidly declining country
>everyone in thread warns OP about how bad the situation is
>argues with everyone and still insists on doing it
I don't know why you would bother making this thread if you aren't going to consider the advice. Just do it OP. You will see soon enough.
>>
Canada is a third world country with a superiority complex.
>>
>>2856711
It's impossible to even get an internship in tech in Canada because no industry and you're competing with infinity chinkjeets with fabricated resumes and masters degrees for 20 an hour. All in all for 1/3 - 1/4 the pay of the same job in the USA to live in a shithole that's 2-3x more expensive
>>
>>2849713
Merhaba kanka. I'm American born and raised but father is Turkish, my wife is also Turkish.

Canada as a country is not really in a good spot right now, they took in an *unbelievable* amount of immigrants and they are now realizing there are downsides to that. Luckily they have Trump to focus their hatred on but once the USA gets a democrat president then after a few more years all that hatred will get re-focused into their domestic problems and there's potential for it to get real ugly.

Canada as a citizenship however could be a good option if you want to get the citizenship and then get residency somewhere else.... Kinda tough though because where do you go?

Why do you want to move there at all?
>>
>>2856743
> Internship
Pretty bold of you to assume I have no job experience.
>>2856761
I do consider the US too.

>>2856717
I want to launch a company.
>>
>>2849741
>its just like home
>>
>>2856894
Why do you want to go to Canada? What are you looking for is it jobs is it culture/lifestyle?
>>
>>2849713
If you're white you get to abuse and shit on jeets all day at work, because you'll inevitably be their boss in a few years as they cry that it's racist and they never get a chance. But you still have to deal with retarded jeets and FOB darkies everyday.

As for current living situations, everything's pretty expensive, but if you make decent money you're laughing. We and the woman pull around 230-250k a year, mortgage is fuck all, everything else is peanuts. If you're gonna be some cuck making less than 100k for the entire household, fuck off and stay out.

This is in central Canada, the cheapest. Alberta, SK, MB. Anywhere else, good luck with even 200k a year. You definitely won't own a home unless you're in a smaller town a DECENT ways from a major city. We're talking 1 hour plus.
>>
>>2856971
Lol, you have no idea how Indians operate. They'll band together and promote themselves hyperquickly.
>>
>>2849920
Most of the job growth is in government sectors, which are packed with various Indian ethnic groups. They are highly nepotistic. You aren't getting in even with 20 years of experience. The private sectors are mostly dead or dying. They just got absorbed into the US because Canada has retarded energy and trading policies. Canadian job outlook is very bleak. Not to mention USMCA is coming up for renegotiation and Canada will be absolutely destroyed. Heck, even Mexico raised tariffs on China to appease the US but Canada did the opposite. They will be subjected to US economic warfare, even regime change.

Even if you don't believe me, Canada PM Mark Carney invests most of his assets in the US through Brookfield. They even moved their HQ to the US. That country is cooked.
>>
>>2849713
I don't think there's a worse place to move to right now because at least in 3rd World shitholes you could save money. Canada is speedrunning becoming Haiti except with shit weather and everything costing 30x more in actual value compared to the US.

No hyperbole you'd be better off moving to Mongolia.

>>2856711
>I want to focus on tech and media desu
The Canadian government decides who wins and loses in these sectors. They give infinite money to donor front companies and propaganda media through CRTC regulations.

If you want to work in tech or media you'd legit be better off moving to California let alone a good part of the US.

I legit can't think of a single reason other than stealing money through fraudulent immigration scams for moving here.
>>
>>2852710
>lmao wut? As an American the one value or trait all Canadians seem to possess is to tell people how 'un-American' they are.
while when that is overstated it gets cringe, but there are some simps for usa in canada too
most people in canada like america overall for culture - knowing everyone has large segments of population they don't mesh with.
but a lot of people were upset by the current governmnet

like imagine a posh person in england enjoy to talk shit about france, but they'd rather live in france than some small industrial town in uk
>>
>>2857719
No. Canadians genuinely hate Americans. They hate everyone that isn't a white trash drug addict like them. I am white and born in the UK. I have ALWAYS had racism from the white canadians, even down to when I was a child. Customs agents would tell me not to use my British passport because "no one likes the UK and everyone loves Canada." Like sorry my dumb fuck parents moved here when I was a child. They are overall a mean, dumb, useless and stupid people that make up all the homeless and the drug addicts. Two-faced demons. They hate the USA because Canadians are literally descendant of white trash chavs and hate anyone that isn't their inbred cousins. That's all. In contrast to the mean rude passive-aggressive Canadians, I've always found Americans to be so much warmer and friendlier than people here. The problem with Canada is the US liberals putting this country on a pedestal, which I think is the only reason Canada has a "good" reputation asides from Canadians themselves telling everyone how great they think they are. Most of those US liberals have never been here either. Canadians have the same savior complex with other European countries too (Netherlands, Belgium etc) because they showed up as a small regiment in WW2 and think they built these European countries and the locals should kiss their asses, while in reality no one cares about Canada.
>>
>>2857723
i think its your personality people dont like
>>
>>2857740
Oh boo hoo passive-aggressive faggot. You're a faggot and no one like Canadians. Best thing Trudeau did was MAID you dumb and useless people. Even Indians are better than you.
>>
>>2857745
cranky baby
>>
>>2857748
Aweh, poor whittle Canadian couldn't afford fent today?
>>
>>2849713
Don't come here, we don't want you here. You're gonna be cold and poor and lonely. Stay in Turkish or whatever that shithole is called.
>>
>>2857723
>No. Canadians genuinely hate Americans.
> I am white and born in the UK
Didn't need to read anymore of your garbage trollbait
>>
>>2857758
They do though you fucking shareblue dumbass. They literally elected a globalist banker after Trudeau looted the country for 10 years because HURR DURR GLOMPFF. You've never been to Canada.
>>
>>2849713
Canada has 8 months of poor weather no matter where you are in the country.
At the cheapest a house is 1 million dollars, in Toronto and Vancouver 2 million dollars. You will never own a home here.
There is no economy in Canada. Canada's median income is 40k/yr. Practically min wage. The more educated Canadians work labour jobs, construction etc. The Canadians over 100 IQ move to the USA, which is why Canadians as a whole are fucking stupid.
There is no culture, there is nothing to do. Canadians are all Redditors who will try to cancel you if you say the wrong thing, you are only allowed to think and say what the State tells you.
Canadians are extremely cold and unfriendly. The are fake nice if you are at a job or in a closed-room situation, but that's it. You will never have any social life, no one to hang out with, dating doesn't exist, it's only hookup apps at best. Your social life here is over after high school.
The government is authoritarian, and the country is in rapid decline.

So move to Canada if you want to be poor, depressed, ln a boring frozen shithole filled with assholes. Canada is a shithole.

your whole rant is describing a culture you dislike
>>
The tradeoff for Canada's harsh winters used to be having affordable middle class life. You're not getting that anymore so it's like this >>2856761 poster said. Right now Canadians are blaming Trump for all their issues but at some point they will have to face reality
>>
>>2857857
Yeah, well being a nation of redditors is not a "culture" to be proud of.
>>
I've never seen unanimous hatred for a country like this before. Usually even if a country is a dump people from it will defend it.
>>
>>2858077
When everybody piles on something, it feels inorganic. Not necessarily bots, but weakbrains who get caught up in social media trends, and who parrot talking points (for their griftmasters).
It's utterly insane to write of Canada as a /trv/ destination. No doubt some aspects of it are fucked, but I highly doubt anybody's turning down a free journey if offered.
>>

Except OP is planning on moving there not vacationing

As someone who's lived here his entire life, you're a fucking idiot. I guarantee you've never set foot in this country, and if you ever did you'd want to leave in a second.

Every issue laid out in this thread and on the internet in general is not only correct, but likely an understatement. I wouldn't accept a trip here for free.

in Vancouver area it is ridiculously expensive for housing. Good fucking luck. Even with a well paying job. Fucking lawyers even struggle here to make rent. The suburbs and the Valley are a bit more affordable but not by much and are boring as all fuck. Safe though and kind of solid if you do not want to deal with all the bullshit like you see on the news in the US. Still there are far more affordable countries to choose that may be better. It rains constantly and is dark and gross for at least three months of the year. The summer is great with loads of outdoor shit on your doorstep. Local mountains during the winter if you are into skiing or snowboarding that are also top notch. Loads of different ethnicities as well if you are down with that and good food. Getting a PR is getting more and more difficult as the government has clamped down but everyone thinks they are letting in all the Jeets when they have been here for generations and apart from killing and extorting each other are pretty nice. Road tripping around in the summer time is fucking fantastic. Loads of scenery to soak up, camping, lakes, and rivers. Easy air connections over to Asia and down to Mexico as well if you want to get out on vacation.
