im planning a trip to japan and this was my plan: tokyo-nagoya-kyoto-osaka and nara
after searching for sights and attractions i concluded that osaka and tokyo are basically the same
i mean i would get the same metropolis feeling with historical attractions
so should i skip tokyo and focus on nagoya, kyoto, nara, osaka
nagoya because why not and fast reached from kyoto, kyoto is historical, osaka for the big town feeling and nara for nature

Ignore other anons, it may be touristy and crowded but for a first time Japan it's alright. Do the main attractions and next time go off the road and explore more calm areas.
Tokyo is nothing like Osaka. Tokyo is the biggest metropolis in the world with endless amount of things to do. Also the hub of Japan where most Japanese live and work. Osaka, if anything, may be a tiny-Tokyo with different people, different food, different sights. I would rather skip Nagoya than Nara or Tokyo. You can also stay in a hotel in Osaka and just do daytrips from there to Kyoto, Nara, Nagoya, Himeji, etc.

Enoshima had few western tourists. Crazy since it's a very nice place close to tokyo

This is the most stupid thing i've ever read in my life. Tokyo has literal everything. Museums, temples, weebs shops, whores, great food and you are close to great places as nikko, hakone, kamakura and enoshima. Going in Japan and skip tokyo (especially the first time) is just... dumb. Not saying you are a retard but thinking to skip Tokyo, is retarded.

That's the worst possible idea ever when visiting Japan. Tokyo is gigantic and has plenty of cool spaces when you'll see very few tourists
Honestly I think 3 days are more than enough to see anything worth seeing in Osaka, but you can use it for daily trips to Nara, that also is good just for a daily trip, and Kyoto or wherever near it
