I'll do Nice (2 days), Aix (2 days) and Lyon (4 days) starting in the 21th of March. Any tips apart from the obvious tourist places or some hidden gems for locals are appreciated.

Four days in Lyon is way too much. If you plan on spending that much time in the Lyon area, I would spend only two days in Lyon itself - one day to see the old town, Fourviere, and Croix-Rousse, and one day for a few museums of your choice.
Reallocate one day for a trip to Vienne to see the Roman ruins and one day for a trip to Le Puy.

You'd have to pay me to go to these places, especially Lyon.

You need more time in Nice honestly. Take one day to take the train to Cannes, Monaco, or Menton.

Skip Lyon completely. Here are my recommendations: Avignon is nice, and be sure to visit Nimes and the aqueduct. St. Paul de Vence was an amazing little town.

Or do what this anon said

As other anons said, you could probably do two days one night in Lyon and head for Provence. You have very cute little villages and towns like Eze, Menton, Cassis..
The road from Cannes to Saint-Raphael is beautiful aswell

Nope. You're doing it all wrong.

Do any combination of these instead.
Annecy, Chambery, Le Puy, Avignon, Nimes, Pont Du Gard, Arles, Aix, Cassis, La Ciotat
