Toy Story is best regarded as a trilogy
While 1 is great, I think it holds the most weight with 3’s ending tying everything together
Shrek similarly is a duology, with 2 complementing everything that 1 started
Overall? Both are very creative, have aged well, and are enjoyable movies whether you’re young or old. I’ll say that Toy Story has more emotional resonance with me, but Shrek still has a great message.

As a kid, i was disappointed when the hot green skirt princess got lobotomized into a shrek.

Toy Story 1 & 2 are one of the best stories for kids ever ecranised. That is - with my own country (Polen) dubbing boice track, rich with jokes and down to earth dialogue - not the bland, simplified and cheap American version.
If only the modern day lego- man children would learn from these movies, so many adult lego owners exist nowadays It's crazy. Drives the prices up too, so the parents or kids themselves gotta learn how to AliExpress really early.

PS. Shreck is a German Last Name, but Shrek ? What does that mean ? Knowing Hollywood history i can already imagine the possibilities.

Although Skrek is a good film. I personally feel like its overrated. how it got more than 2 films is beyond me. I use to regularly just listen to the Toy Story film when I would work.
