Blade Runner 02/04/26(Wed)02:49:15 No.217766315 Man this one was boring (at least up until 40 minutes when I stopped watching).
Also she's frontrunner (heh) for the stupidest hairstyle award.
Is the 2049 one better?

I have tried like 4 times to watch this movie but I just can't fucking do it. I end up bailing out of it at some point and I can't really remember much of it. I have seen 2049 twice though and enjoyed it about 85% of it.

It's good for uncs that watched it 40 years ago.
Young people will just think it's retarded. They will think, why is he looking at physical photos when he could just look at a tablet? Don't they have a fuckton of security cameras? In our 2019 they would have found the replicants in a couple of hours.
Not bashing on the movie, it is outright impossible to predict how technology will change. I just meant to say there's a generational gap at work.

02/04/26(Wed)03:17:22 No.217766825 It took me over a decade and multiple attempts to watch Blade Runner all the way through. Finally it clicked. I don't love the movie but I appreciate it and understand it. My advice is don't give up on it. It's a hard one, for sure, but it is worth it.

2049 has a much better storyline throughout. Original movie is more about the mood but other than that it's boring.

I don't know if that one was bait or not but in the last decade I've noticed anything that isn't a blockbuster being treated like upper echelon inaccessible art for some reason. Like The Northman got billed as an arthouse movie when it was an action flick along the lines of Gladiator, which nobody treats that way.
I saw Blade Runner in 2013 when I was a teenager and thought it was the coolest thing ever and watched it a bunch of times. Just watched it again recently and it's still cool and flashy and I can't imagine getting filtered by something so fun.

02/04/26(Wed)10:00:28 No.217771128 2049 doesn't even have a story. It's neat for the first half when he's just fucking around the city. Then it tries to pretend it has a point and something to tell but it doesn't. No one cares about replicants breeding and no one believes that would actually be a problem to recreate. It's laughable to pretend their perfect breeding model would die giving birth the first time and hilarious to imply Deckard was le chosen to fuck Rachel. Then they hide their super special child in some slave pit for kids before she's sent to live in a sealed glass room forever after making memories in plain site of the guy who wants her most? The whole thing is just so goddamn stupid. No one gave a shit when Deckard reunited with her. It was just old grumpy Harrison Ford looking at some literal who woman at thay point.

>zillennials too cynical to understand carrying a sense of meloncholy and nostalgia for better times while living in a tech-laden and uncaring world
Everyone in the movie wants something they can't have, with the push-pull of desire meeting an inflexible reality being the entire tension of the film.
But so many of you morlock bastards can't stand a film without quips and explosions every 10 seconds, because your tiktok brains have been programmed to be useless like that. There are zoomies who genuinely thought John Wick was boring because he doesn't kill anyone in the first 30 minutes. Even that tiny bit of world building and establishing emotional stakes was too much for them. The jews are right about the goyim.
