It's really not the worst thing about the movie- the worst thing is how bad looking and cheap and poorly choreographed the action is. Which still would have been the case if Weaving was there

For some reason they didn't want to heavily storyboard this like they did in the originals. It also suffers from a lack of Bill Pope, who I honestly think never wants to even think about the Wachowskis

The worst thing is they glossed over the most interest aspect of the story and left it as a passing comment.

01 and the exiles are in a war for resources. The humans could have been entirely off the hook had they just pointed the other two factions at one another and gotten out of the way.

Honestly, fully agree. The movie was meh and schlocky, but if Hugo Weaving was back, it would have been fun.
