Net income's been a 50/50 split between parks and cable for like 10 years. It's a given that the Disney films division as a whole is breakeven at best nowadays and Disney+ is 0.01% of the company's profit.

Park prices went up like 250% while attendance is higher than ever, and movie tickets are only 80% more expensive. It's not hard to see how we got there.

Sport isn't enormously profitable for them either. ESPN generated $4.9 billion in revenue in the same quarter but only made $191 million in profit.

02/04/26(Wed)07:46:14 No.217769911 If I was the CEO of Disney, I'd tell the company to make a good movie. I'd insist it be a good movie. I know the company loves making bad movies like Lightyear, Strange World, Wish, and Elio. But I'd put my foot down and say "No! It has to be good this time!"

I'd say
>Instead of spending $250 million on the live action Robin Hood reboot starring Adam Conover and John Oliver, we're only going to spend $190 million on the Robin Hood reboot and we're going to use $60 million to produce a 2D film to prove that the medium that our company was founded on is still commercially viable

I guess it depends on how many people bought a higher grade FastPass than you. And each other! In fact the whole idea of a FastPass is so brilliant that I bet Jeff Epstein came up with it. It recently came out that he was the guy who invented game microtransactions. No shit.

Zootopia 2 did great
But it's also telling that everything that is succeeding now is an existing franchise, people don't trust any studio to make anything good but nostalgia can overcome that (but even then those live action remakes are losing steam)

Some of them are, but on a bigger picture, Disney is a lot like Sony and makes most of its money from other venues. Amazon isn't really doing much money from its movies and TV series either.
We have been for a while in a place, where doing movies is a relatively small side stream for huge corporations and that makes it hard for traditional studio to compete, as those big companies calculate their profits very differently.

This is why you don't go on Carnival Cruises.
It has to be a Royal Caribbean not in the Caribbean or Celebrity which prices them all out.

They're expensive, which means you immediately lock out problematic blacks, plus they're pretty luxurious for their price range. But the main appeal is for families. If you have a family their options for the kids can't really be beaten with top tier youth clubs, broadway calibre musicals, plus they have a dedicated parents' part of the ship so you can ensure your kids are having a ball while you and your wife are relaxing, clubbing, or slipping back to the cabin to fuck.
I wouldn't go on one unless without kids but if you do have a family it's probably a much better option than other cruise ships in the same price range.
