I once tried to watch this because i like period pieces and mysteries but it honestly didn´t hook me for those same reasons. I mean, i´m sure Draper have some sort of dark secret i´ll learn later or maybe his wife know what he is doing but they have some sort of arrangement and the whole perfect family thing is a facade for some reason... but i didn´t stick with the show to find out.

more subjective, but i would say the caliber of writing far exceeds the majority of popular american drama tv. the dialog is quick, memorable, and gives each character a very unique personality despite many of them roughly being the same "concept" (important women are those with agency, important men are social tropes)
