The series is just subtext, because it's a sports series focused on Mahjong with super powers, for everything else the majority of characters are gay in a possible or in a relationship too obvious to require any confirmation, you'd have to be stupid not to see it.

In addition to the obvious couples clearly having an active sex life, IPS cells are a common thing in this universe (at the cost of not having underwear) so yes, there are all-female families too, like Hisa's mothers who were separated because of a car accident and that's what caused the drama that separated Hisa from Mihoko in the first place.

These backgrounds were not drawn by Ritz but her editors. It's still commendable and it's amazing how much of a cult it became in the Japanese fandom to hunt down every scenery shown in the manga. There is a whole Google maps project with some scenery even spotted in France and Souther Europe.

That's why they're extra BDs; those versions aren't meant for public release but are for the people who paid for the BDs, so the OP/ED uploaded to the YouTube channel are the legal and public version.

What I like about Saki's anime is how there are chibi-style comedic endings, as well as serious and dramatic endings.

I'm always seeing 6-7 Saki circles attending each Comiket even to this day then sadly see that they never upload their stuff to Fantia or other services where I could buy it digitally
I also don't want to risk the police knocking on my door for the more risqué doujinshi so I can only import and scan works on the SFW side
