This is the most disappointing shit I have read so far this year. Why even bother writing a slice of life future arc without committing to the sesbian lex smut scenes. Besides the gorgeous art Chigusa shat out, every fucking medium that involves these two felt underwhelming af. Not to mention the way Ren speaks sounds so fucking cringe. I cannot even self insert myself as Ren because both Chigusa and the author tried really hard to make Ren a masc but also act like the cringiest bottom who wear sexy dresses to make Shino horny.

I can't find it either, that anon must be from another worldline. There are English audiobooks for a couple of yuri LNs though, like Shokei Shoujo, omaegotoki, and Adashima. Kinda interested now how the reader handles Adachi's phone meltdown, if she starts crying to stay in character or not.

I finished reading The Beauty's Blade today. The fights are deliriously entertaining and are probably the most fun I've ever had reading battles in a yuri book. It's all sword glares and acupoints and palm strikes, it's hilarious. It was nice to see the womanchild MC always lose her spaghetti whenever Yu Shengyan so much as looked in her direction. The plot was a very long and convoluted revenge story, but it did have a satisfying conclusion, and even the spunky reverse trap got her dad's permission to marry another woman and I enjoyed that very much. I hope we get more official baihe releases because I loved this one.

prologue sounds like full bondage stuff, and the free chapters doesn't really get into their relationship, kind of a shame, I really love the idea, but I hate bondage stuff, I'd rather the girls be able to properly touch and lick each other instead of having ropes all over their body.

Does anybody have the direct link to AdaShima 13's voice drama?
They put that black and white square thing on the obi without the link. In ShinoRen 2 they also wrote the link so I could get it on my PC, but without it how am I supposed to reach it?
>>
>>
>>4501472
I don't have a smartphone, why would I need a smartphone to get an extra in the book I bought? It should have been included as a cd or even better as a USB stick to begin with. Anyway they should have simply written the link, it's the most logic thing to do.
>>
>>
>>4501501
Modern retarded problems require old solutions.
It was a short link they could have written on the obi without any problem, but nope, they have to make everything more difficult and annoying.
Also, only 6 minutes, I'm disappointed.
How come nobody else bought it anyway?

ShuuKura 8 and Kaidanshi 2.
>回樹
Collection of short stories. Yuribungeibu says 2/6 are yuri.
>その心霊バイト、危険につき
It seems to be a Urasekai/Kaidanshi, but it says only "buddy" about the relationship between the two girls. It would be interesting if it was yuri. Yuribungeibu put a "sexual harassment" tag on it.
>うっかりドロボウになったけど影の薄い私には天職でした
This one also sayd "buddy" but it feels like it's on the list just because it's written by Hikikomari's author.

Vill is fine and you could say the same about any of the harem girls. It's just annoying that nothing ever goes too explicit. Even the marriage is more of a formality than a full on romance.
And no, I don't mean that it's vague if the girls are in love with Komari. That part is 100% textual. But Komari herself is such an indecisive, self-denying wet blanket. Even her bislut mom who ended up marrying a man scored with the Empress at least.
>>
>>
>>
>>4510254
There are layers to that role. Some harem protags are more decisive, admit their feelings for their love interests or at least bang them. Japanese hetslop is where the wet blanket self-insert protag plague has forever destroyed harems as a genre. But the rare cases of yuri harems have most consistently been more rewarding with protags who eventually will reciprocate openly to all the love interests. The more emotional aspect of yuri as opposed to the exclusively lust driven narratives of hetshit facilitates those developments too. Not to mention that most yuri harems have a proper protagonist and not a pathetic self-insert.
Komari is by nature supposed to be an anti-social shut-in so it makes sense for her to suck at expressing her feelings... for maybe 6 volumes, but after that we really need some progress. I will be damned if she ever initiates a kiss on her own, but she could at least admit she has romantic or sexual interest in her girls.

LNs rarely do anything beyond adding illustrations. I have almost never seen LNs actually add more content or make any major changes. They usually just fix some grammar or spelling errors, because a professional proof-reader looks over the script.
So no, there is no reason to wait for the LN.

Really sweet story about a working woman and an insomniac JK who can only fall asleep when she's next to her. I've only finished part 1 but so far it's great; nice mix of cute, sexy, and light drama. It's still ongoing, and is apparently getting a print version in February.

Omaegotoki 5 was a wild ride. I thought the way it ended was kiki's way of giving the middle finger to everyone who bugged him to continue the series before I read the afterword and it said that the series is planned to have 8 volumes in total. I was a little disappointed that we never learned what Origin's true body was (an extradimensional being? a computer? a psychic cow?) so I hope the next volumes address that. Ottilie is best girl. The post-apocalyptic stuff in Japan was some of the best stuff I ever read, in yuri or otherwise.
>>

I finished reading Kaidanshi 2. It was a good read and another much needed entry to the cute girls doing spooky and slowly but increasingly yuri things genre.
The author wants to continue the series but seems kind of doubtful that it will happen. However, it is now being adapted into a web-manga. Should make an interesting adaption. I will warn that anyone who wants to read the LN might want to finish the first volume before checking out the manga.

>reader: I don't understand what Satsuki is doing
>Teren: Exactly!
Back on track with my yuri novels, I started with WataNare 8, skipping the two SS volumes (I hope I'm not missing anything from the story, after all they're extra side stories, I'll go back to them later).
The writing is bad as always.
In the previous volume Mai apologized because she didn't tell Renako and Ajisai about her engagement before of the announcement because "she was busy" and in this volume she does it again. Teren went for the shock value as usual so the writing is extremely forced.
Kaho has been 404'ed and it seems it'll be the same in the next volume. Rouge, or whatever her name is written in letters, turned out to be a pretty useless character, and a very unrealistic one, out of a male fantasy of how cute girls should be: retarded.
However the worst part is probably Renako at the cabakura acting nothing like a girl but like a horny boy that has never been next to a woman. Way too exaggerated, reacting like that just because of a cleavage?
On the contrary, I expected more from the boob sucking and Satsuki assaulting Mai, but both scenes immediately end without any consequence.
Renako and Ajisai makes really no sense at all. They never showed any kind of attraction for each other, it's too weird to see them trying to act like a couple when there hasn't been any building. And Renako is a shit for being fine with kissing two girls but against those two girls kissing other girls.
Youko is another character that turned out to be way less than the problem she was supposed to be and her role in the story ends up as another stretch, considering also her personal relationship with Renako which isn't romantic but it's still baiting.

And finally the real elephant in the room is the role of Satsuki that, by her own ammission, she herself doesn't know what she's doing.
In the end I still don't know, after 8 volumes, where the story is going. Will it be a full 5-ways relationship? A harem? Or Renako will choose only one now that she admitted she's a shit for two-timing?
>AriOto won't get an anime
Why not?
Suki na ko no imouto ended with the third volume.
I appreciate the author made a proper choice instead of leaving it in the air, but this kind of triangle will never be realistic, there's no way someone could be fine with seeing the person they like dating another person.
Like, Mimi said she wanted Yuika's first time, and then Nagisa said she won't let Mimi have the thing she likes the most, but Yuika's first time is only one, so who got it? Obviously the author didn't answer this question.
Triangles have sense only if they're three-ways with all the three girls liking each other.
The ending was also pretty rushed in the last few pages, all the problems resolved too easily with just a "call me by my name".

When I heard AdaShima wasn't ending as opposed to what previously said, I thought Iruma had comen up with some new plot idea, but the new volume is not different from the latest ones, ordinary days telling us how much Shimamura loves Adachi and how horny Adachi is.
I was confused when the new volume was advertised as "the first and last cultural festival", how could it be if they were in school for three years? The explanation being "Oh, I didn't know our school had a cultural festival" "Me neither" is frankly ridiculous, how could you miss the whole school preparing for the event in the past two years? It's clear Iruma didn't think about it before so he had to use this unnatural excuse.
It's the first volume with only Shimamua's POV, isn't it? It was kinda lacking without Adachi's POV.
I didn't get who the onee-san at Shimamura's grandparents' home was, she said she met her before but I don't remember it, she wasn't the fortune teller, was she? And the singer at the festival too, was she a chraracter from the Irumaverse?
In the end it was a classic AdaShima volume but I expected more considering it's the volume that continues the series after the forecasted end.

I thought HimeWanko could become a new ShuuKura, I didn't expect it to end with the second volume.
I said Inukai Anzu got better at writing but in this volume the writing goes back to the one of the previous works. Creating a plot twist that contradicts the title of the series is never a good idea. The class' princess was supposed to be MC's puppy, but in this volume the MC becomes the princess' puppy.
The whole premise was already absurd "I want to be treated as a pet, I want you to be my master because you made your friend copy your homework" and now this masochist suddenly becomes the master and the MC that was said to have a sadistic dark side in the first volume suddenly enjoys being treated as a pet. It loses the already thin base the story was build on.
ShuuKura is good because the story is all about them, without wasting time on other characters putting themselves between the main couple, the first volume of HimeWanko was like that too, but in the second one a big part of the story is about the little sister and the friends also got some scenes for her unrequited love left unresolved.
As much as I like shimai yuri, I'm tired to see little sisters crying because the sister they like falls in love with someone else. WataNare, YuriTama, now this. They don't deserve it. I wish one day we'll have a series going all the way with the sisters.
I thought the third volume would have been about the friend being rejected and ending up with the other friend or with the little sister, I was really surprised when the author said this was the ending of the story, it could've said much more.
It was also bad they started doing things outdoor, like taking off their clothes risking to be seen without a care and sex scene could've been elaborated more.

Kinda disappointed by Tokitoki channel 2.
The first volume had a proper yuri scene in every chapter, but the second one had basically nothing.
It was also less interesting than the first one and the sci-fi explanations were even less explanatory.
+nu appeared too often, stole too much time and focus from the main pair. The "relationship" with the listeners in general is too heavy, creating the typical, creepy, "parasocial" relationship you always see with idols and vtubers with their fans.
In the end the reason it was so disappointing is because it tried to push the relationship of the channel as a group instead of putting the relationship of the main pair above everything.
In the last chapter too, thetime loopsituation is not new in yuri and it's always used to reinforce and show how powerful the relationship between the two girls is, but here it doesn't really happen anything between the two girlsexcept when Miki was imprisoned and Sakura was left alone, but she didn't do anything about it anyway, and the resolution didn't involve any yuri either.
>>
>>4514055
I don't think so, because the festival thing is so irrelevant Iruma could easily have written both of them saying they didn't give a shit, yet Iruma choose to make a point they are too self centered on themselves and each other to even see what others are doing, which sure is ridiculous when you push it to this extent but I can't really say it's inconsistent with their monologues. Isn't that girl the one who asks Shimamura if she can ask Adachi out later on?
>>4514056
Yes, pretty much, it's a story that is flawed at it's core because it didn't know what it wanted to do, it was interesting when it was slowly and graduating building up their fetish, but then suddenly they were naked licking each other and the only thing the author figured was switching roles. If the author wanted to write a incest, incest NTR or a poly incestuous story, he should just have done it, instead we got a frustrating plot line that feels lacking of a conclusion.
>>
>>4514055
>It's the first volume with only Shimamua's POV, isn't it? It was kinda lacking without Adachi's POV.
Yes, Iruma had been giving Adachi less and less POV. When he said a while ago that Shimamura was the MC, I guess that sealed everything. It's a real shame, Adachi pov was one of the things that made me love the story and without it my enjoyment will decrease even more.
>>
>>
>>
>>4514053
What do you mean Renako/Ajisai makes no sense? Have you missed all the build up in volume 2-4? They had plenty of chemistry and reasons to like each other. Though I didnt read past volume 5, I just wanted to point that out.
>Renako is horny about boobs
This has been a key trait of hers for almost the entire series, ever since she started feeling horny for girls.
>>
>>
>>4514155
>Renako/Ajisai
I had a brain fart, I meant Mai and Ajisai.
It's ok and normal for her to like boobs, that's not the problem. It's the way she reacts like a boy that has never seen one and goes crazy for a cleavage. But Renako is a girl, she sees and touches her own ones everyday and she has seen and touched a lot of differente naked girls' ones before. For example, Takasora also goes to cabakura and likes boobs and doesn't hide it but her reaction is a lot more natural for a girl.
>>
>>4514173
>Mai/Ajisai
Hmm... well I didn't see much of their "relationship" yet by volume 5, but I think there is actually a good foundation for this ship. Ajisai likes kind/determined girls who try hard and that's exactly what Renako and Mai have in common. I think Mai's very honest and direct nature also appeals to her to a degree.
As for Mai liking Ajisai... I have a bit more trouble to put that into words. Mai is very defined by her insane obssession with Renako, but if you put it to the core value, it's that Renako looks at her true self and accepts it. This is something that Ajisai who 100% was against Mai hiding or playing the martyr, certainly does too. But Ajisai is more... gentle and subdued? In a different context I feel like Mai's tender side would suit her well. If Renako had never been a thing you could totally imagine Mai courting Ajisai in an over the top way, only for her to gently make Mai drop the facade.
But that is fanfiction at this point. In this case it's not possible to imagine them working without Renako as a link.
>Renako sees her own tits so it's not logical
Are you a girl? Because that is not something you would think if you were one I believe. Your own breasts aren't really that interesting. Boobs are hot because they look good on other girls. Your own breasts are mundane, unless you are a crazy narcissist. The situation of being in close proximity to scantily-clad women who show off cleavage in ways that shouldn't be normal is the turn on in that situation.
I dunno, you act like lesbians arent allowed to be horny about titties right now. That's just odd.
>>
>>
>>
Nta, but Anon is obviously complaining about the "anime" style of overreacting for a character who has already done this before and shouldn't do it again after it stopped being novel for her. It's not about not being allowed to find it attractive, as you could infer from the fact that Anon literally used another character as an example.
>>
>>4514220
This is a bad argument though because
1. The appeal of boobs does not disappear especially if you are not used to that girl or the situation you are in, which adds to excitement
2. Renako was really repressed for years and is not used to expressing her desire, so she is in fact acting more like a hormonal teenager about it (remember the first time she touched Satsuki's breasts she ranted about how good they felt and thanked her for it like a horny braindead chimp)
3. Not everyone is the same. Some may be calmer than others about this stuff
4. It's a horny comedy series
>>
>>4514192
I didn't say she's horny for her own boobs and I didn't say women can't be horny for boobs as I also provided an example of another horny character that's handled and written better.
I can only say you should read the actual scene, see how it's written and judge by yourself. In my opinion it was really bad.
Renako has been in various situations with different naked girls, she's seen and touched them, some of them were even exaggerated according to anime/manga standards, like when she washed Kaho and she was moaning making Renako even hornier and I still think they were ok. But this scene is just something else. Maybe it's just me, but for me it was ridiculous.
>>4514224
Yes to all the four points of yours but this scene still hit differently,
>>
>>
>>4514262
You literally said she shouldn't be so excited about boobs because she has her own that she saw and touched before. There is no room for you to change goalposts here...
You also said reacting strongly to tits is means she acts like a horny boy and only subdued reactions are normal or """"well written"""" even though I already explained what about the situation can cause a strong reaction.
>>
>>4514524
I literally didn't say that.
I said she acts like a boy that has seen a cleavage for the first time when she has always seen boobs. I didn't say she's horny for her own boobs, that's something you made up.
You know the scene immediately after the cabakura is the bath with Lucy/Rogue/what'shername and she sees naked boobs but it isn't as cringe, despite the french girl acting like a retarded baby rather than a teenage girl.
>>
>>4514572
You aren't even remotely capable of reading comprehension, you dumbfuck. You keep refuting a point I didn't make. Nobody gives a shit about her being horny for her own tits, youi LITERALLY said she should not be so excited about boobs because she has seen and touched her own so she is used to them. Stop avoiding the literal words you typed >>4514173
>>
>>4514588
Can you stop using the word literally without knowing what it means? Nothing you said is written in that post. You can't read, you make up things nobody has said, get mad at your own headcanon and tell others they're not capable of reading comprehension.
I keep repeating myself and even a child would have understood it by now.
She acts like she has seen boobs for the first time, she goes crazy over a fucking cleavage when she has seen boobs multiple times, she is used to them and yet in that scene behaves like a boy that has never seen a boob.
Being horny and excited has nothing to do with it. It's LITERALLY written in that post.
Being used to something doesn't mean you can't be excited about it, it means it's weird if you reacts like it's something you've never seen.
I did not say "she should not be excited about boobs because she has boobs" I said "she shouldn't react like a boy that has never seen boobs when she has seen boobs multiple times, both hers and other girls' ones". If you don't see how these are two completely different things you should go back to elementary school and stop posting on the internet.
For starters, you are defending a scene you haven't even read so you have no idea what you're talking about and you can't understand how weird it is to see her going full monkey just because a woman with a cleavage talked to her and immediately after that normally taking a bath with a girl that among other things started sucking her breasts.

In summary: Retard(You) believes his retarded idea of "acting like seeing boobs for the first time like a horny boy" with zero self-reflection AND doesnt know what literally means. Your post was quoted, so you did literally say it, dumb bitch.
>you didnt read it, so you cant pick apart my lousy autism!
I took you apart by your own failed logic. Nothing more was needed.
>>
>>4514694
>criticism
It's just comments about the volume and personal opinions, children that can't stand them shouldn't be on the internet to begin with, even more if they haven't even started to learn how to read and are fighting with the monsters in their small brains.
WataNare is yuri so it's automatically better than all that shit that adds boyfriends and husbands, but it's still extremely badly written and there's nothing wrong with pointing it out. I guess it's the popularity that attracts these autistic retards, because I made a couple of complaints about HimeWanko 2 and Tokitoki 2 but those haven't triggered them showing they don't really care about yuri and are not interested in discussing, they only want to start shit.
>>
>>
>>4514910
What do you mean "lightest and least serious"? Teren has done a lot for yuri since before he was serialized.
And as you can see here, it's not the work itself that generates autistic fights, it's the retarded trolls that didn't even read it.
>>
>>
>>
>>4514899
>retard thinks that just because nobody disagreed with his opinion on HimeWanko nobody who points out his bad arguments against Watanare cares about yuri
The mental gymnastics on display here are actually impressive. This is pure autism, huh?
Feels like the only who got triggered here is (You).

>>4514977
You know people actually discussing a novel series is not an autistic fight, right? The moron you are replying to is just really bad at arguing an already terrible point.
Also watanare is full of drama and self-improvement and genuine emotions too. It's not all just lighthearted and jokey. I don't think you would have said this if you didn't just try to meme about it.

386 pages of ShuuKura and one row per page more than the previous volumes, what a bless.
And yet this volume finished immdiately after making me read it all in one go like the previous volumes so now I can't do anything but impatiently wait for the next volume in spring.
Another 10+ volume. It's incredible how the series maintains the same high level the whole time.
There's nothing much to say, the story keeps being all focused about Sendai and Miyagi wihout wasting time on unncessary stuff, it's all about them and their feelings and those feelings are written in an unbelievably detailed and heartfelt way. A masterpiece.
I thought Maika was more intelligent though. After all she's seen she still can't say something is going on between her friend and her friend's roommate. Miyagi that won't stop looking at Sendai at her work, Sendai that won't stop taking photos of Miyagi, the whole earrings thing, in general how Miyagi acts differently when she's dealing with Sendai.
Meanwhile Noto could tell something was off just with Sendai looking at the door and could even tell which one was Sendai's roommate just by looking at her talking with Miyagi and Maika.
I wonder if there will ever arrive the moment their relationship will be exposed to others.
Miyagi's feelings really exploded this volume, she said a lot of things I thought she could never say so easily and she seems to have finally understood what it means even if she hasn't admitted it yet. Including what happened in the last chapter, let's see if she's now going to change.
I'm only worried we're running out of WN's chapters and soon the volumes will take more to be released.
>>
>>
>>4515011
I don't read the WN but this is the newest chapter released today:
https://kakuyomu.jp/works/1177354054894027232/episodes/822139842870626 316
The problem is the LN doesn't follow the same chapter numeration, so I don't how many chapters are not collected in LN volumes yet.
>>
>>4515017
Well I am the opposite, I don't follow the LN releases, so I don't even know where it's at. But judging by your summary it would only be at like what... volume 9? 10?
Still strange though. I could have sworn I had heard the WN was supposed to be finished. As I am reading Angela's translation I am obviously still far behind, but if the LN is really just at Volume 9 or 10, then we might actually be pretty even.
>>
>>
>>4515021
From what I have heard the LN doesn't change a lot, but it is true that it has bonus chapters. However, Angela translates those too and adds them to the WN translation.
But yeah going by your spoiler the WN translation is actually head to head with the LN right now. Which is impressive because Angela translated like 3 LN volumes worth of chapters in 2025 alone.
There is the machine translation of the WN which is nearly up to date, but I would never touch MTL garbage. But because of that one there are people who know some spoilers that make it annoying to avoid knowing some stuff. So I know some answers to your questions, like what happens with Maika.
Well knowing we are about at the same point I can actually properly reply now >>4515008
>the story keeps being all focused about Sendai and Miyagi wihout wasting time on unncessary stuff
While I sort of appreciate it, I also sometimes feel like this leads to circular writing. So much stuff just keeps repeating, so many inner monologues sound the same, because they are just repeating thoughts we hard 10 times before. It actually feels like a lot of the most relationship moving events take place when their relationships is challenged by an outside factor like Maika or work or hiding from Umina back in the high school volumes. Like there is no doubt that 70% of character development is fueled by jealousy or possessivenes between them...
Personally, while I don't need there to be a proper ensemble cast, I would like some more proper integration of the side characters. I never feel it's believable that Miyagi and Sendai have a social circle, because they basically are all non-entities (except for Maika). Also a lot of the fun of the early volumes was them navigating their social circles while hiding their relationship, but now they are always at home hanging out, so there is just no tension and no reason to have side-characters do much.
>>
>>4515027
The parts when they're alone at home are my favourite ones so on the contrary I appreciate the story won't change its setting. I can go on living just by feeding my heart on those.
So at the moment there is enough material for at least other two volumes, right?
Now they are releasing one volume per season, so it should be fine until summer and in the meanwhile new WN chapters will be out but the question is how much time does it take to write chapters for a new volume?
>>
>>4515033
LN Volume 8 ends around the 220s of the WN. There are still over 200 untranslated WN chapters left. So by that calculation, there is enough material for at least 8 more LN volumes.
Consiering the absolute snail's pace ShuuKura moves at, I guess it's not inconceivable that the WN isnt finished even after 16 volumes worth of chapters...
>I appreciate the story won't change its setting
I didnt say anything about changing the setting, but I am getting incredibly bored from being stuck in the same 3 rooms for 4 volumes straight. At least Volume 1-4 had some school chapters.
Are you seriously telling me you didn't like the aquarium date? Wasn't Miyagi fleeing to Maika's place and their confrontation with Sendai there exciting? What about meeting at the music classroom back in high school? Most of the good moments happen when they leave their monotonous circular cramped little world.
I am more interested in Maika disocevering their relationships than reading for the 100th time how Sendai traces Miyagi's lips with her fingers, kisses her, then pulls back and kisses her again.
Not that I'm not impressed by the author's skill to make a story where they are stuck in the same damn room for 4 volumes work. But outside stimulation is what makes these characters actually evolve. I think they would not have been stuck with this unhealthy unbalanced relationship for so long if they had confided in their friends and actually tried to get some outside opinions.
>>
>>4515043
>there is enough material for at least 8 more LN volumes
Holy shit, you made my day.
Obviously I liked the aquarium date like any other of their dates beucase they're still moments about them and only them, what I like less (but it's not like I dislike them either) is when there's someone else between them, like the moments when they are with Maika because they can't act naturally since they have to hide their relationship. It's still good because even in those moments the story is still about them, like how they're jealous of each other (that's why the series is so good) but I still think those moments where they have to put on an act are less interesting then the moments when they can hit each other with their feelings.
One scene I disliked in this volume is the one in which Sendai had to lie and tell Maika she bought the earrings herself. I was so glad when Sendai openly told Mio the truth about her earrings so when she had to lie, and in front of Miyagi, it let me down.
>reading for the 100th time how Sendai traces Miyagi's lips with her fingers, kisses her, then pulls back and kisses her again
I love it. This added to their internal monologue when they're doing that.
>>
>>4515052
You seem to be under the impression that they only lie when other people are involved, but the extremely frustrating part of this story is that they lie TO THMESELVES and EACH OTHER literally every chapter. There is nothing more annoying then hearing Miyagi deny for the 20th time that chapter that she is into Sendai or wants anything from her etc. Or her categorically denying anything Sendai wants while treasting her like an object. Sendai will actually just go along with that. But when she has to lie in front of Maika it actually makes her angry and annoyed. If anything their reactions to have to stifle themselves or their jealous episodes is what leads to them doing something extreme to each other and that's when the actual emotional exchange happens.
>this added
No it doesn't. My point was that this repetitive writing is really boring. This author has the skill to make really heart racing scenes and interactions, but much like Myagi irrationally feared if they just do the same thing over and over it loses its luster. Sometimes having to read for the millionth time that Sendai grabs Miyagi's arm then lets go when Myagi glares at her instead of continutinuing the conversation can just be seen as pointless padding. The thing you claimed this series doesn't do. They repeat the same actions so much when they dont even add anything to the scene.
>>
>>
>>4515263
Someone once said ShuuKura is the least toxic toxic yuri out there. It's really tame and mostly just communication issues and complexes.
Frankly the more time goes on the more obvious it becomes that Miyagi is the problem in every situation. Sendai is a saint for still having patience with that stray cat. Instead of getting therapy, Sendai has to painfilly, gruellingly play the emotional support dog to eventually heal her trauma. And as a reward she keeps getting treated like garbage to the point where she has developed a tolerance for pain and slight masochism just to cope.
Like there is a one-sided toxcitiy here, but Sendai is so determined to accept Miyagi that she kinda detoxifies everything. Any normal protagonist would probably have punched her by now or given up on her. The only reason they can be together is because Sendai is this unhealthily selfless.

For a second I really thought Nakatani Nio had finally returned to drawing yuri manga. Instead she is just the illustrator for this yuri LN.
It still got me intrigued though.
>>
>>4515115
I wouldn't call "lie" what they do when they're with each other. Miyagi didn't admit it yet and Sendai is only hiding it, but they've become a lot more honest.
I don't know what to say more than what I've already said. I like those parts, Miyagi saying no but eventually accepting Sendai's actions to show how her true feelings win. The fact they can't keep their hands off each other, how they keep thinking about each other all the time, the possessiveness that makes them put marks on each other and the thirst that make them feel like they don't have enough. I love everything of it and the more there is the better is it, the glacial pace is not a problem for me.
>>4515307

>I wouldn't call "lie" what they do when they're with each other
Then you are just as much denial as those two are. Miyagi literally says the opposite of what she thinks all the time, self-admittedly in her PoV chapters. She lies about how she feels, she rejects things she actually wants and she always acts tsundere about everything.
Sendai is less of a liar and more just impulsive, but she does use her superior social skills to trap and manipulate Miyagi all the time and indeed lies because she knows from the start she wont hold up certain promises.
Enjoy what you want, but don't deny the facts please. They are both liars who cope in the worst ways. And every time they seem to advance and become honest, their relationship regresses again soon after. It's 2 steps forward, one step back, every single time. So a path that should take ten short steps takes three times as much instead. That is extremely tiring.
I just hope what I heard was right and things will get better soon.
>>
>>4515328
>Miyagi literally says the opposite of what she thinks all the time
In this volume alone she literally said to Sendai herself that Sendai's face is beautiful, that her body is beautiful, that it's difficult to buy something for her because she's beautiful, that she belongs to her, that she had "weird" drems about her, that she isn't against having sex with her and the deepest desire in her heart, that she doesn't want her to leave home.
I said it before, they're becoming more honest with each other, at a glacial pace, but knowing how Miyagi is it's normal. I don't find it tiring at all.
>>
>>4515332
You are ignoring that before she said any of those honest things, she also lied about 20 other things each time and she always regrets being honest. Usually it only slips out because she is emotionally agitated or loses control of her words.
How can you not be annoyed when Miyagi acts like a bitch for a whole chapter and acts cruel without pause, constantly rejecting everything and acting like it's everyone else's fault?
Yeah, she got "better", but I thought the same thing when they started going to university and seemed to be much more in tune with each other, only for their relationship to devolve more and more each volume again. Sendai is basically being held emotionally hostage at this point and Miyagi has intentionally hurt her repeatedly. A little make-up sex won't make me overlook that.

You can't expect Miyagi to act like a normal person out of nowhere. She's got problems, things that make her suffer herself, she hasn't it easy but she's doing the best she can and keeps fighting against it without knowing what to do. Sendai understands it and is helping her to overcome it little by little, see the birthday cake for example.
The acting like a bitch comes from her not knowing what to do in front of things she's never felt and experienced before. She's been abandoned and never had someone to love and care for her so having Sendai doing everything for her confuses and scares her.
I think she's faithful to her character so I don't have a problem with her actions.
>>4515334
You said she "returned" so it sounded like you thought it was a new thing. I wouldn't say she's "returned" if she did a thing in 2020 and nothing else after that.
>>
>>4515338
Thing is, Sendai has her own issues, but she can somehow function. And it's not like Miyagi was incapable of functioning as a person before she met Sendai. She had friends and a relatively normal school life. If she was consistent she would not be making any friends, because she would be afraid they would abandon her. I haven't seen her overreact about any of that. She is exclusively awful to Sendai and nobody else.
And don't give some excuse about "but sendai is special and Miyagi doesnt want special relationships in fear of losing them" when she has stated Maika is a special important friend to her too and yet she somehow is completely capable of being friendly with her.
>>
>>4515339
But you know what she feels for Sendai is not friendship, it's something she never felt before and that's why she doesn't know what to do. Maika has never done the things Sendai does, like being a constant presence in her home so obviously she doesn't have the inner fear that she won't come home one day.
She has never felt the need to leave marks on Maika but with Sendai she can't control herself and doesn't even understand why (even if in this volume she started to understand but didn't admit it yet) and that's why she behaves like that only with Sendai. She may have grown up with friends, but this love thing is something new for her.
>>
>>4515348
She already treated Sendai awfully before they started crossing any such lines back in high school. Miyagi is just predisposed to treat Sendai like shit and I think that is way more about her not liking Sendai being perfect at everything unlike her. There is way more resentment in there, not just fear or loss. And because their relationship started from a foundation of envy and negative feelings it just keept growing twistedly.
She already wanted to own Sendai before they ever left their first hickeys on each other, because it made her feel superior. She is relying on that bad imbalance of power now to hold Sendai who has grown to love her hostage with constant limitations and ultimatums.
And honestly, tell me why she has to act like a bitch about EVERYTHING. Sendai asks the most mundane shit and she immediately shuts her down or treats her like a nuisance. Sendai asks to do something with Miyagi and her first instinct will ALWAYS be to say no. Whether it's going somewhere, doing any activities together or wanting to kiss half the time. I am so tired of Sendai having to coax Miyagi into doing the most basic things with twenty exchanges and a bunch of mental games and loopholes.
Like every single time Sendai hid something from Miyagi or tricked her into doing something or going somewhere, Miyagi immediately admits that Sendai was right that she would have refused if she just aksed like a normal person.
Sendai has to do this song and dance so much and for what? For Miyagi to say she owns Sendai but Sendai has no right to ask anything of her ever.
It's so fucking annoying. I know this author will find a way to make everything implode even after they finally confess and start dating, but at least we would finally stop with the delusional self-denial every paragraph.
>>
>>4515351
You kinda answered yourself. Their relationship at the beginning was completely different, it wasn't anything special for Miyagi, just an excuse to treat Sendai like shit and feel superior.
Then her feelings started to change but she never acknowledged it until now so she keeps treating her with a sense of superiority, even if things have clearly changed, she doesn't want to treat her like her equal, that would mean admitting she's special and contradicts what has been until now. She doesn't want to abandon the power she has over Sendai, but at the same time she has clear feelings for her, a contradiction that make her suffer and behave like a bitch.
You don't have to think about it too deeply, that's Miyagi character and that's the relationship they have, I'd say that's the selling point of ShuuKura.
>>
>>4515358
I don't want to believe that the worst part of the novels is its selling point. I am sure some just read it for the horny bits and they would still have a better reason to like it...
Miyagi knew that Sendai is special to her for like 5 volumes by now. She isn't even denying it. She just doesn't want her to become "even more special" which is arbitrary bullshit.
Her biggest revelation in volume 8 is that she feels possessive of Sendai... yeah not shit? There are no mental gymnastics in the known universe that can justify her not understanding this when she literally told Sendai that everything about her belongs to Miyagi and that she never wants her to to make contact with any other human beings or leave their damn appartment. She had internal monologue about wanting to lock Sendai away like 5 separate times in one volume and somehow we are supposed to believe that "Oh I might be possessive of Sendai-san" is supposed to be a big leap forward. You can be possessive even without being in love with someone. The real realization should be where this possessiveness comes from, but we gotta drag that out for at least another century too.
The best part of these novels was always Sendai losing all the screws that keep her sanity intact and the occasional sweet moments, however fucking rare they are. Not the utter painful mess of lowkey abuse that Miyagi's treatment of Sendai is.
>>
>>4515360
>arbitrary bullshit
>mental gymnastics
Call it how you want but that's the main contradiction giving shape to the story.
Miyagi is afraid of changes, she needs to desperately grabs on to a name labelling her relationship with people. She needed the "classmate" before, she needs the "roommate" now. Giving up that scares her because she doesn't know what would happen. It's a fictional story, this kind of things are normal, they give it flavours compared to real life.
You know, it's like Sorawo refusing to give up on the accomplice label. It would be very easy for everyone in real life, but in the context of the story that's how the character has been made.
>>
>>4515363
>uses Sorawo as an example
Wow you just really love pointing at all the things I hate and saying they are justified, huh? I guess I just can't stand autistic characters who are 10 layers deep in self-denial when there is no narrative benefit to it at all.
Abandonment issues, trauma, jealousy... those are all fine. But I don't want to read the character repeat the same lines 60 times when they already contradicted them 100 times before. It doesn't feel like Miyagi is slowly improving, it feels like she keep resetting her brain. And that goes right along with all the other repetitiveness of the novels.
I am not joking when I say you could cut the entire story in half by expunging all the inane repetitions and it would lose nothing.
I need some tangible improvement to stop feeling like volume 8 was a massive disappointment. Hopefully volume 9 will make me retroactively look back on it more fondly.
>>
>>4515367
Sorry but no, it wouldn't be the same if you cut out all those scenes, and the improvement is minimal but it's present.
When they started living together Miyagi was closed in her room and didn't allow any contact with Sendai, it was worse than when they were in highschool. Then she slowly started to let Sendai touch her, went in her room, allowed her in her room, allowed her to do the same things she did to her. It wouldn't be natural if she suddenly went from no to yes.
I get you don't like the slow pace, it doesn't seem to be only ShuuKura but a matter of tastes in general considering your answer to Sorawo, but there's people, like me, who likes it (when it's well written like in ShuuKura, Urasekai and AdaShima).
>>
>>4515373
I didn't say cut scenes, I said cut the repetition. I don't need to read the exact same kissing routine over and over and over again. I don't need Miyagi to deny the most obvious shit mentally 20 times every chapter centered on her. We got it already, we don't need it to be on loop. If you cut out all the repeition, every novel would be half as long and lose nothing.
>I get you don't like the slow pace
No, I have no issues with slowburns. I just hate inane repetition. Slowburns are the hardest to write, as they have to keep your attention without moving from plot point to plot point. Some can do this with slice of life antics. Some do it with suffocating drama.
ShuuKura does this by inane repetition. Urusekai Picinic isn't a slowburn, it has a proper plot that keep advancing regardless of how much of a unlikable retard Sorawo is.
AdaShima is the only one in that list that is actually any good at slowburn storytelling, because it has no aspirations or insane spikes. It all flows into each other and Adachi and Shimamura are both much healthier and more interesting characters than Sendai and Miyagi. Sure, Iruma is overdoing it by adding pointless filler volumes when the series really should have ended, but at least the meandering is consistent.
ShuuKura has very sudden brutal jumps which always come as an explosion after annoying as hell stretches of circular buiild up. Every interesting thing that ever happens in these novels happens when the characters explode and do something extreme, when they are breaking out of the boring infinite repetitions and resets. This is the part that keeps people engaged. It certainly keep me reading. I just can't stand how much I came to hate Miyagi over time. I found her more likable in freaking high school where she was being a bitch on purpose. Her clinging to the 5000 yen exchange was pathetic and stupid and all, but it was a far more tangible and believable barrier.
>>
>>4515021
>>4515027
To be more exact, volume 8 ended with chapter 229, Angela's translation is currently on chapter 214 I think, and the web novel has 405 chapters and still seems far from ending. Each light novel book roughly covers 30 chapters of the web novel with minors changes here and there. 3 volumes are usually released per year
>>
>>
>>4515443
I already said that.
>>4515446
Shimamura haters are just legit illiterate. She is by far the best character in that series and a lot of people just identify with Adachi because they are as autistic as her.
Basically saying "the same way" is utterly insane. Miyagi is an actual bitch who purposely hurts and mistreats Sendai-san. Shimamura at most is a bit apathetic or surface level in the early volumes and doesn't really know how to deal with Adachi's autism.
Shimamura changed a lot across the volumes and I don't accept this critcism, because that is not the point. Miyagi did change, she just also happens to be an insanely unlikable bitch regardless. Shimamura is a good person who just didn't want to deal with relationships until she slowly got attached to Adachi and fell in love with her.
If anything Shimamura is similar to Sendai, just a bit less unhinged. Both are characters who put on a facade in front of others and have surface relationships with them so their school life will go by smoothly. It's just that Sendai has family issues, while Shimamura has a loving family.
Honestly Miyagi has a lot in common with Adachi (both are clearly autistic and have abandonment/family trauma), so both sides have their counterparts.
>>
>>4515377
>I just can't stand how much I came to hate Miyagi over time. I found her more likable in freaking high school where she was being a bitch on purpose. Her clinging to the 5000 yen exchange was pathetic and stupid and all, but it was a far more tangible and believable barrier.
I see other fans of the novel complaining about this and to be honest I somewhat agree. Their relationship was more exciting during high school because of the high tension, the denial on both sides, the mental games, and the uncertainty of their relationship ending soon because Miyagi was obsessed with cutting ties at graduation and Sendai wasn't willing to change her plans to move out to another prefecture even though both of them were highly conflicted about that. Now they are like an old married couple that bickers a lot but mainly because Miyagi keeps saying no to everything since Sendai is a huge simp now. The sweet moments are cute but the story moves so painfully slowly that it feels like it's being dragged out on purpose because it's popular. It's hard not be frustrated at Miyagi after 405 chapters since she's the main reason the story feels kinda stale sometimes.
>>
>>4515458
Obviously Shimamura and Miyagi are completely different characters, but I thought you're point was how little and slowly Miyagi changes through the story, something people have said about Shimamura too, but now it seems you're problem with it is that she acts like a bitch towards Sendai, which is true, but it's part of the character. I don't know how I would react if Miyagi suddenly turned into a loving and caring girlfriend. From my point of view the moments in their rooms you find tiring are necessary for making her soften little by little.
>>
>>4515465
Miyagi going in loops on her denial is totally part of what annoys me about her, but it became much more insufferable after their relationship clearly advanced to lovers level. High school Miyagi clearly had a crush on Sendai, but they were much more serious about keeping barriers between each other, because they had a self-imposed deadline.
University Miyagi and Sendai don't even think much of what happens after univeristy. Sendai has brough it up a single time to explain why she needs to get part-time jobs and asked Miyagi about her plans after university and she just gave a vague reponse. You dont get the feeling that either of them is really afraid of that deadline. Instead Miyagi has irrational breakdowns about how Sendai will leave her any second for no reason. In high school this felt like a real plot point, even if forced. Now it's just baggage that drags things out.
And no I don't need Miyagi to instantly switch into lovey-dovey mode. Even if they confess to each other, their possessivenes won't disappear. Miyagi won't suddenly be sweet all the time. But she would finally have confirmation that Sendai is hers and would try to make compromises more often. It's the uncertainty of their relationship that makes everything so insufferably repetitive.
And again, people who thought Shimamura didnt change, even though it only took her around 5 volumes to realize Adachi was in love with her and for her to accept her feelings are insane. Shuukura is at volume 8 and we have nowhere near that level of healthy relationship growth.

Sendai talked about their life after college graduation in this very volume, during the Christmas Eve party at Maika home, she said she's planning to continue leaving with Miyagi after the 4 years of college too, though there hasn't been time for the two of them to talk about it yet.
As for Miyagi's fear, it comes from her mother abandoning her and her father never coming home. It only could get worse now that she's living with Sendai. In highschool they were only using her home as a meeting spot but now they live in the same home and in her mind one day Sendai could decide to stop living there like her parents did.
>>4514801
I see there's a kiss in the third volume, is it worth it? Should I get this series too?
>>
>>4515479
I know that Sendai already plans to live with Miyagi post university. The point is that Miyagi barely thinks about graduation and the life after that at all and it never really comes up as a natural time limit. Maybe because it is too far away for Miyagi to really bother thinking about it right now, when she is constantly busy freaking out about literally nothing and being a bitch to Sendai.
I also know what her trauma is and I reject the notion completely. There has to be a limit to her mental illness. Sendai can literally tell her in every way that she belongs to Miyagi and Miyagi will still pretend she doesn't get it.
The worst part is that Sendai is always right about how Miyagi would run the fuck away if she was ever going to confess to her. Because Miyagi doesn't love herself she cannot accept that anybody else could love her. She simply doesn't believe that Sendai can love her, while simultaneously having zero alternate explanations for her actions.
It's so tedious to read all that stupid self-denial over and over and over....

I've read the second manga volume of ShuuKura too. It loses a lot compared to the novel, with all the derpy faces I can't read with a straight face serious scenes like the one when Miyagi poured the drink on Sendai, but picrel hit me hard.

Vol. 3 drops late this month, so hard to say for sure about the context of the kiss yet. It’s basically girls fighting monsters, so you’ll like it if you're into Madoka Magica. The battles are secondary to the relationship, though.Last volume, more characters appeared, but friendship was clearly distinguished from someone special.

Gonna start on the next Otherside Picnic book shortly, but I'm wondering when they're going to address the very obvious plot twist that the Satsuki they "killed" at the end of book 7 was not the same as the Satsuki that Sorawo encountered at the beginning of the book. The one at the beginning didn't change at all when looked at through Sorawo's eye and more importantly, when Sorawo said:
>"You're not even human anymore, right? Just an empty husk. I dunno if you're an agent of the other world, an interface, or whatever it is you're supposed to be--but could you cut it out with that form? It's not fair... to Toriko"
>It happened when I said that: those ultrablue eyes moved beneath her glasses. With a sideward glance, Satsuki Uruma looked at.
>"Do you really think so?"
And then:
>This wasn't the first time we'd met. I'd encountered this woman-this being that took the form of a woman-several times now. Sometimes as a flat vision, and at other times just a heavy presence. And at yet other times as a monster, bereft of humanity
>This time was different from any of those times. The woman before me was frighteningly human.
So like, very obviously this part from the beginning of book 7 was the only time Sorawo met the real Satsuki and everything else was some sort of phantom of her. I'll eat my Kannazuki no Miko manga if it wasn't a fake out. Obviously they were too busy have sex in book 8 for Satsuki to turn up, but I'm hoping this plot point comes up in 9.
And then I have to read OmaeGoto book 5 and the latest Shokei Shoujo. Wow!

Benching plot points forever is the surefire giveaway of a bad author. Maybe you will be surprised by how interesting she becomes if she is actually focused on. Happened to plenty of seemingly boring side-characters before.
>>
>>
>>4516660
Maybe, but I'm just not interested because it involves her being "sane" enough to control the Otherside, which sounds like a plot convenience. Not to mention, any emotional value she had was destroyed by the author when he made the characters who cared about her accept this woman's death, fake or not. Using her for emotional value in the future would be awful and a disservice to the writing in that volume. The only value she has left is as a manipulative villain messing with Sorawo, but Sorawo being invested in her again would be a disservice to her character. It could have worked before, but now it's just an unfunny joke. In the end, her only real value is as an infodump device to explain the Otherside to the audience, and I don't want that. I don't want the Otherside to have "logic."
I'm not denying that the author can write a fantastic volume with her as the core, but until that happens and I'm "forced" to read it, I'll always feel that her further involvement in the story is unnecessary.

I think the reason she's important is her connection to Sorawo. If you remember, when Sorawo didn't cut her hair for a long time, Toriko noticed that she looked almost exactly like Satsuki. Combining that with Sorawo having such a fuzzy memory of everything about herself prior to meeting Toriko, almost as if she popped into existence on that day. And also, the personality Satsuki showed in that one encounter was definitely intriguing, far more than any of the hunts of her presence before. I think Sorawo is somehow created from Satsuki in some way. Possibly Satsuki never existed as a real human and was purely created by the other side entities or something. It's hard to piece it together desu~ but I'm pretty confident there's a lot more there.

In the scene directly before she meets Satsuki, she's in class and demonstrates how there was an empty desk where T-san was and how everyone had somehow missed that and it was clearly showing how peoples memories adapt and shift in response to otherside influence. I think it's building up to something like that. I trust in Miyazawa

Early on I used to bounce the idea of Toriko not actually being real, but now that you mention memory manipulation Sorawo is more likely. The only thing that really puts me off of that theory is that she's known throughout her university for causing a scene at a party well before the story began, and we've never seen the otherside's influence on that massive of a scale before. Besides that there's nothing that indisputably proves she was born in the real world.

I also trust Miyazawa but I think that kind of reveal would feel unsatisfying. One of the strong points of the story is Sorawo going from a misanthropic weirdo who can't acknowledge her traumatic past, to someone who has made real connections with others: Toriko obviously, but also the rest of the cast. I'm not sure what the point of Sorawo turning out to be an Otherside construct would be for the story as a whole other than shock value.
I do expect that the Otherside will have had some influence on her past beyond what we've seen though, like about the deaths of her family and the cultists.

I believe it. Apart from being socially awkward and introverted, Sorawo has always seemed to well-adjusted for all the traumatic shit she lived as a child. Having a crazy split personality would be fitting (or maybe she is the split personality).

Just finished a few translated LNs (by JP Translations for fun) however I failed to realize it was MTL. On the credits page they do mention it was proofread and they made footnotes throughout which made it seem real. They also kept in hepburn in specific sentences to make it a more accurate translation - something straight MTL doesnt do.
It still feels a little disgusting to know I read MTL though, despite thinking it was decent.

I don't care about MTL advancing and being good at some theoretical future point. Right now it isn't good. And in any case, reading books in translation will never be the same thing as reading the original. Learn Japanese.
>>
>>4519181
MTL can never replace genuine translations. Just translating the words cannot actually capture the prose. Just like how most generated images lack human warmth and feel wrong, MTL is just always going to be half-assed garbage.
Just look at the insane difference between the ShuuKura MTL and Angela's translation. Everyone says how the characters feel completely different and how much nuance the MTL lacks.
Only an absolute retard would consider sloppy garbage like MTL "the future". The only thing you are leaving behind is your brain.

>how much nuance the MTL lacks.
Funny you say this because the human translation also lacks a lot of nuance. Not anyone's fault, you just can't convey Sendai and Miyagi’s (especially Miyagi’s) personalities in the translation. That's why a lot of people in the English fandom call Miyagi a bitch while Japanese fans think she's cute. I even saw someone saying Miyagi’s voice in the cd dramas doesn't suit her at all when Haneda Usa personally picked the seiyuu. Miyagi’s inflections are completely lost regardless of the translator
>>
>>4520632
Just because the author picked a seiyuu doesn't mean the voice suit her best, just see Chainsawman and the Makima Seiyuu debate, and you're out of your mind acting like no jp fans complained about miyagi behavior implying eng fandom problem is due to translation issue, you can go in the wn comments and see people complaining about her there too at early stages.
>>
>>4520647
Tomori Kusunoki was chosen because someone in the staff (the director or someone else, don't remember) was a love live simp, not the same thing. And sure it's not like japanese fans have never complained about miyagi but it's not comparable to the way the en fandom sees her character. There was someone who read the ln in japanese and english and they said miyagi's speech is still blunt in the original but softer and cuter compared to the en version and that will never be conveyed in a translation.
>>
>>
>>
>>4520675
The speech is not the reason people think Miyagi is a bitch, it's her actions and personality. Angela's translation does bring more nuance to Miyagi because she actually shows more reflection that the MTL glosses over. And the fuckers who run the garbage MTL want people to pay for that. Fuck 'em.

not to defend mtl but the one for shuukura doesn't charge, at least the one everyone is currently reading, there's another one that did charge even though they just google translate everything and then copy and paste it as is which is why there were chapters where sendai was referred to as a boy, so yeah those fuckers should eat shit

Gokumon Nadeshiko volume 2 was amazing. My only complaint is that I wish it had done something more romantic with the "Fox Wedding" scene, even if it was in the middle of a fight. It was a prime opportunity for some great fluff but it went by way too quickly
>>
>>
>>
>>4521259
The heartwarming scenes in that series are really amazing. The buildup of their bond is very solid throughoutand I really hope it does turn romantic. It already could have at the end of volume 1 if the author was rushing it, but the setup for it just becomes easier and easier with later volumes. It could easily go down as one of the great yuri LN series.

This comes with its own trade-offs, reading will take 10x longer for many years if not forever, and the brain will just quickly get tired from reading in a foreign language (unless you learned Japanese as a kid). I fell into the trap of learning Japanese, now I can't read translations because of the inevitable lossiness of them, as well as many translations just being outright bad for various reasons, but I also can't read much in Japanese because of how tiresome it is. I used to enjoy reading a lot and now it's a damn chore.
