This game is awesome. It feels like a precursor to Kirby in a lot of ways. Obviously you flap around like Kirby. I liked the speckled shading on the trees in the forest. I like how the trees looked had happy faces that turned mean right before the first boss. Later you fly by some whales that look a lot like the whale Kirby lands on in Dream Land 1.
Balloon Fight is a top 5 NES game for me and I loved the balloon trip mode. This game builds on that in a lot of ways. My favorite is the way the game makes you let got of your balloons to fit through spaces and then frantically pump up new balloons in time to take off before the screenscroll kills you. There's also remixes of the Balloon Trip theme. All the music is great. And the gameplay builds, like you don't start seeing the electric balls from the NES game until around stage 6.
