A real old PS1 JRPG. It's still pretty neat though. It's got a lot of optional bosses if you're into that sort of thing.

Fantastic first entry.
Mediocre to bad everything else.

I thought the first one was surprisingly great, the second one has good gameplay but the translation is so bad it ruins any story impact, I got bored of the third one and dropped it.

Exactly right. 1 is amazing, 3 is fine, but everything else is abysmal. 2's translation is legendarily awful to the point that it makes the plot totally incoherent.

I just finished this game several months ago. Was good, though it's generally far too easy. Dungeons were fun to explore. Localization seemed off at times and made it a little hard to follow at times.

I started the second game funnily enough. I don't remember anything as bad as your screenshot but I may have not been looking hard enough. I liked the music of it and look, but again it's far too easy. I think I made it about 11 hours in before I started playing DQ1+2 HD instead which were fantastic overall. It'd be cool if someone redid the translations on games like Wild Arms 2 or anything Working Designs got their claws on. Fuck I hate those guys, I'm shocked the only thing we've gotten is Unworking Designs patches for their balance changes.

Some probably got burnt by WA4's HEX system, and the plot of WA5 is pretty mild compared to the others.

absolutely not. of the studios developing it, 2 were sony and 1 of those 2 was japan studios. sony are shit, japan studios is gone. the only other developer for wild arms is currently only really making digimon games and hundred line, that's all they've done since valkyria games
and then obviously all the creative leads that actually made wild arms from any of those left and are now either retired or working on the armed fantasia team
highly unlikely it ever comes back sony are too shit
like konami making a new suikoden game is still possible because they own the ip and their studio still exists, even if that chance is low. for wild arms it's close to zero desu

Wild arms 1 was boring as fuck when it was new. I remember being super desperate for a JRPG at the time too. 100's of better jrpgs on ps1. Try xenogears

Is there any translation fix for 2? I remember liking it more than 1 but the dialogue is hot garbage, especially whenever the lizard duo appears.

from what I understand there are technical problems that prevent it. just like how translators couldn't inject the finished script into front mission 2.
