In that scene, before it taking place, Tidus is frustrated at Auron not telling anything about the bizarre world Tidus got sent to and Auron simply forcing Tidus to follow along.

Yuna and Tidus are having one on one talk with Tidus telling about his frustration and Yuna tells her coping mechanism for situation she's forced into is to sport a smile and roll with the punches. She encourages Tidus to laugh at the problems and Tidus forces out big fake laughter to alleviate the shitty situation he feels trapped in. The scene ends with other people wondering what the fuck is wrong with the 2 and Tidus and Yuna end up genuinely laughing.
