Why is Marika all crumbling and fucked up looking? Also what's that spear that's been stabbed through her? Is this ever explained? Or do I have to watch a 5 hour lore video to figure this out?

>Why is Marika all crumbling and fucked up looking?
Elden Beast is mad Marika broke the Elden Ring.
> Also what's that spear that's been stabbed through her?
Lance of Longinus analogue.
>Is this ever explained?
No
>Or do I have to watch a 5 hour lore video to figure this out?
They won't help.

It is, you just need to get grabbed by the Elden Beast and he uses similar summoned spears attack to you.
>>
>>732253320
Oh, I didn't know that because I never got grabbed by him.

She's a god who broke the Elden Ring, which she was hosting, so it affected her that way.
Her being stone is probably just to show the player that she's a God.
>What's the spear
An attack Elden beast can use on the player, it being red-gold is probably to symbolize Radagon's will.

thats cute but whats an elden ring

Otherworldly item and entity that asserts the metaphysical laws of the world and fate.

Neato, thank you.

The Greater Will crucified Marika for breaking the Elden Ring and stabbed her with the red spear
>Is this ever explained? Or do I have to watch a 5 hour lore video to figure this out?
The finger reader near the two fingers tells you that Marika was punished by the Greater Will for breaking the Elden Ring. In the end of the game we see Marika like this. So we can infer. If you take things characters and descriptions day literally it will all make sense.

What was going on in the lands between before it arrived?
>>

First the mother of fingers arrived. A daughter of the Greater Will. She births all the two fingers and finger crawlers. The two fingers are envoys of the Greater Will; and they receive signals from The Greater Will: Then some time later the Elden Beast landed, which became the Elden Ring.

I thought the two fingers were split from a full hand and that's where the three fingers come from.
>>
>>732256460
The world was in some kind of primordial UR-Form before the Greater Will did >>732257134 and then once she gave the go ahead the GW sent down the Elden Beast/Ring to create desperate life.
>>732257196
The Three Fingers are more a manifestation of Chaos spawned by the suffering of the Nomadic Merchants that took a twisted form of the lands spiritual guides.

She is. What's going on is an internal war.
She's crucified, but when you go in to save her, Radagon wakes up.
He's allowed to be free and fight you because he's the one in control.

The Elden Beast's only motive is what the elden ring "says" because it's a rune.

I think trees can petrify in a similar way to Marika so there might also be that.
>>
>>732257134
interesting head cannon. You should write novels. Morons will pretend this is explained in the game

DLC showed that the Greater Will hasn't said shit and it was Metyr telling her children bullshit.
They may be giant fingers, but they were written to sound like the catholic cardinals probably because George R. Martin imagined them as such
>The Two Fingers, like the High Sparrows [fat fuck noises]

>>732257196
That was an old theory people had as the three fingers and Two fingers line up to form a complete hand.

However the two fingers are a "species" and there are many in the game. A dead one on every divine tower, the one in the Round Table and a younger looking one murdered by Ranni.

The Three Fingers is some kind of agent of the frenzied flame summoned by suffering Nomads.
Whether or not it's a mockery by the FF or a wayward mutant of the Metyr who first inherieted it isn't known.

The Frenzied Flame is widely believes to be some sort of inverse of the GW, as it mirrors the Law of Regression as opposed to Causality which the Two fingers seem to fixate on.

Everything he said is just a summary of item descriptions with the exception being we don't know the exact order in which Metyr or the Elden Beast landed.
